Douglas DC-8

I'm having problems with the hydraulics system not working. The aux pump works to some extent but once I turn that off the normal hydraulic systems will not work even with bypass turned off. Result is I can't retract flaps or gear and can't control the trim.

In another thread, since locked, it was claimed that being able to operate the cargo door without electrical or hydraulic power was an error. In fact the manual (the real one, not the abridged one supplied with the product) states that the door may be operated hydraulically with a hand pump if normal system hydraulic power is not available. So it is correct that you can open and close the door when the aircraft is cold and dark.

The DC-8 in P3D V4 are terrible (13 FPS and under) sitting on the ground not moving. Is there any kind of fix or optimization for this aircraft?

Hi, I accidentally shut down an engine inflight.I tried to restart it,but to no avail.Does anyone know what the procedure is to restart an engine inflight?And has anyone been able to do so in this simulation aircraft?I landed the aircraft without any problems on 3 engines but next time I would really like to be able to restart the engine.So,if anyone has any knowledge about doing so in this Aerosoft DC-8,please let me know. Hello AES aerosoft with the DC8 Aerosoft, a loader on the rear cargo door, while on the DC8F cargo it is not possible to put on the main cargo door. As I think about the real DC8F, it's impossible to open the main cargo door without the electric GPU (Aux Hyd pump) On the DC8 Aerosoft..yes ??

Hello everyone, I am looking for a nice "repainter" who could help me. for painting the tail of my DC8. I am trying to paint the DC8 in the colors of the French airline, Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux (TAI) today disappeared. With a lot of work I made the fuselage. I aligned the three parts of the fuselage by a lot of trial and error. But now it's done For the tail I give up. Can not have TAI on both sides, I have a misalignment. see picture. and below a photo of the tail of the real plane. and what I would like to have. I notice, Capt.s Clock not syncing with P3D and the PC, unable adjust the clock! Adjustment knob not Working! How you sync Clock? PC and P3D v4 are on the same time! The 2D display of INS 1 & 2 using Shift Control, doesn’t work or is inactive! Is it for selecting between INS 1 or 2 when using the A/P? I had quick look in the manual, it wasn’t any help! Thank you. Hi, I really love this airplane and am amazed what Aerosoft managed to create .I went through the manual but there are a few things I cannot find:First,how do you ident the ADF signal? I can ident NAV1 and NAV2 but not the ADF.Secondly,according to the checklist there is a ground spoiler SWITCH.I looked all over but cannot find it.Last,the checklist talks about "preferential circuit test". Anyone any ideas what this refers to?Thank you for any answers here!

As a new users and a big fan of older airliners, I must say that this is one of the most promising projects I've come across. While there are a few functions not yet modelled, I was wondering what the future has in store for the DC-8? Will there be further updates adding full functionality to the virtual cockpit/systems? Also, any thoughts on adding an optional VC setup which has a modern TCAS and a basic GPS unit? Just a thought for those who want to fly the DC-8 in its last configuration or in the original configuration.

Many models of DC8 (for example FINE AIR) have N1 in the FE panel and the N2 in the main engine gauge panel. Is it possible to switch positiones of gauge?

Hi I'm really enjoying this aircraft, an immersive simulation, great work! The only issue I have is with the lights, showing a rectangle on ground. This is also noticeable with the beacon light. This is FSX-SE on W10-64. Thanks in advance for any help

I found in cruise, flight levels if you use the map function, menu to check flight progress, aircraft will decrease air speed and will stall! Why is this so? Is this a P3D problem? All aircraft systems working great, P3D v4.4 working great! Thank you. Ansett Win. 10 64, P3D v4.4

Trying to set up GSX for the Cargo Variants. I see where your readme.txt says to "...rename the files to switch to the cargo version." Don't know what to rename them to. I assume they have to be copied to the GSX aircraft folder but that didn't help. When I load up a cargo aircraft I still get the non-cargo version of GSX. Hello, I bought this Dc-8 , installed it and have made a first (successful) flight. Seems good plane with many systems and manual flying is quite easy. As I am more an occasional simmer and not so an INS-fan I tried to use the default flight plan (gps) . But I found no way to make it work. The usage of Gps seems to be desactivated. So I had to use HDG finally for lateral navigation with autopilot. So My question is : 1)Is there a way to make the plane follow the default flightplan (without using Ins at all) or if not, maybe 2)Is it possible to create a default flightplan and introduce it automatically into the INS (there are other…

Using version 2, I've noticed that when looking at the cockpit from the exterior view, the cockpit interior textures (apart from the pilots and glareshield) is missing and shows all gray. Is this something that will be looked at later?

I just purchased the DC8 for FSX ( not P3D) from the FlightSim Store. Great product! Love it already!!! I own the CRJ and the A319/318 also. This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm assuming (from what I read) that there is no Cargo version for FSX? If there is not should I expect one? How would I get it when it's released? Hi, Would you consider making an option, so the autopilot would be able to work with an external FMC, like Ernie Alston's ISG, or RXP GTN/GNS gauges? These gauges drive the stock heading bug and work with aircraft that use the default AP. I tried to use to use the ISG. It changes the heading bug, but then the heading bug is moved back immediately. I am not asking for a way to integrate these gauges in a fancy way, but just an option for the DC8 so that it can listen to standard AP heading bug changes. The INS is great of course, just I would like to fly online and I get into troubles as many SIDs and STARS are RNAV based nowadays. Thank…

Having recently purchased and installed the DC-8 in FSX-SE I attempted to familiarise myself with the a/c by flying the Honolulu to Vancouver flight tutorial. It would seem however that this tutorial has not been installed on my PC, at least I am unable to find it anywhere on my system. Can you point me in the right direction please.

I can´t intercept any single radial that i command. for example, today departing from Bilbao form runway 30. set radial 313 of blv the first step of my sid. Take off with autopilot of, then intercept by hand the radial, the set autopilot on and then set vor loc mode (the switch radio/ins was set to radio) instead of following that radial the plane start to turn left to the other side because of no reason. Today, I experienced a strange behaviour of the fuel and payload dialog. I wanted to load 142000 lbs of fuel, and the load manager indicated that amount. When I checked in the airplane and also in the P3D standard fuel and payload manager, there were only 115000 lbs loaded. Even when I used the max amount (159000 lbs?) in the DC-8 payload window, the total fuel in the plane only got up to 133000 lbs. I then used the P3D load system to obtain the desired amount of fuel. I have the impression that the last two fuel tanks (extension 1 and 2 (?), about 12000 lbs each) were completely ignored by the DC-8 load manager. Did anyone else experience such a behavior? …
