Hello everyone. I have the 32bit version. Everything works properly, but vertical speed doesn't. I can start the engines, set and align the ins etc. but before take off i can't set the trim (the trim indicator doesn't move), after take off i engage the autopilot, lateral part works properly but seemingly the vertical speed doesn't. Also after ap engage, the ap doesn't follow my vertical instructions but i can set the trim manually and i can see the trim indicator moves. Before i engage the autopilot, vertical speed wheel moves, but after i engage the autopilot, it doesn't follow the setting i made. As i remember autopilot controls the vertical spe…

  3. Good day, Just purchased this product ! After my first take off (fresh install) when I tried to engage the auto pilot, I first selected lateral HDG mode then I could'nt engage the IAS or Mach mode on the pich selector knob. Furthermore, when I try to select it, the VS pich control resets to PITCH witouth indication wich can lead to unexpected sharp dive or climb espessially during turn. I tried both on the 2 D pop up and the 3d panel. The only way I can use the pich mode of the auto pilot again is to desactivate the servos, and re engage, and then select only VS mode and pich wheel. I am running: P3d V4.4 Aerosoft DC-8 …

Aerosoft DC-8 civa isn't working Hello aerosoft! You have done an amazing job on your DC-8 series plane and it is a joy to fly. Sadly I am having issues with the ins system not aligning itself as it should, following the ins tutorial putting ins switch into align works and the plane starts aligning normally until it gets to accuracy 6 where it just stops and freezes. I went for an hour and then came back but it was still was on 6/9 accuracy, meaning I cannot put the switches into nav mode. The only way to fly the plane is using vor to vor navigation but I got the DC-8 for the civa ins system.

HI all, Mein Flugsimulator ist FSx.

  10. Hi, Just purchased this excellent aircraft yesterday. However, I have difficulties in activating an imported FS flightplan. Here is my exact actions: 1. Loading the aircraft with engines running on a runway. 2. Selecting "Align" on both MSUs. 3. Selecting "Pos" and "Auto" on both INS. 4. Selecting "Nav" on both MSUs. The green light on the MSUs does not have a green light. Starting to roll on the runway, and both green lights flashes. Taking of and activating the autopilot and selecting "HDG" first and then "AUX/NAV". After that, nothing happens. When selecting "HDG" again it follows the …

  11. Hi This is really an old one but as I can't see any fixes in ver 3 I'll bring it up here. FSX Hydralic Pump Failures is launched by the Failures section during startup or preflight, but not every time. See picture And if I uncheck it in the list of Failures it comes back 0-2 times until I take off. E.g. Sometimes when you load a flight with the engines going it starts moving as Pbrakes doesn't work with this hydr failures launched. So then I quickly have to go to the Aircraft-Failure section, recheck the items, return and set the Pbrake. Or maybe you noticed that the trim doesn't work. Mats Sederholm

Hello, I have this problem with the CIVA INS on the dc-8. I fly it in p3dv4 and everything seems to work on the beautiful model. That is however unless a try to put a dme station WITHIN reach (200nm, and yes i always check that) into one of the units for realigning and increased accuracy. I try to follow the manual. I switch it to dme update mode (keys 7 9), it starts behaving as the manual says. I put in the coordinates of the station that the corresponding nav is already tuned to (INS1 = NAV1) then i insert the elevation and frequency of the station. Then i press waypoint change, put in the correct number and press insert. Nothing happens, the update flags dont sh…

Having recently purchased the dc8 addon from aerosoft for FSX-SE, I went to install it and everything worked perfectly fine until the very end where the installer said it could not locate my DLL.xml file and manual update was needed. intrigued i went to locate my dll.xml file in the appdata/roaming/FSX folder and i found out it wasn't there. i would like to stress that i ran everything as administrator and had the night before done a complete CLEAN re install of FSX-SE using steam. it seems that re installing fsx refuses to build a new DLL.xml file and im stuck as without it i fear the aerosoft dc8 installer will refuse to install the …

Hello captains I am rather new to the DC-8. I fly it in P3D4.5. I have a question on the autopilot. Well it is actually about the fs flightplan. I found on this forum that you can use your flghtsim flightplan if you do not thouch anything on the INS. The trick for this is do not use the Cold&Dark. So start up your DC-8 from the P3D menu , with the flight plan and after take of AP on and NAV knob to the left AUX. Is that it?? Is there a way to use Cold & Dark AND the flightplan ? For example by entering the current location (Airport) in the INS after C&D and ALLIGN? Regards Ronald

This is an edited copy of an earlier post. I believe I posted the original in the wrong location. I purchased the DC-8 series 3.0v 04/02/2121. Current install FSX SP1 & 2, WIN 10. There were no issues with the installation. However, was unable to activate ext pwr. or GPU. Searched the forum and found a download link that would replace the Ground Interface XMl editor. That resolved those issues. During a test flight (minimal fuel and no cargo except a ballast pallet) takeoff and climb the exterior scenery was vibrating. Aircraft pitched down even though properly balanced %C/G. Using trim to correct does not correspond as it should ( I know thes…

Okay, I give up!!!!!!!!!!! I have only recently purchased the DC-8 and I cannot get the vertical speed trim to stabilise/activate in the Autopilot. Yes, I've read the manual and I've even looked at youTube tutorials to see how they do it but they don't seem to have a problem with it. I'm running "AS_DOUGLAS-DC-8_P3DV4_V3001" in P3Dv4.5 HF3. I also can't set the trim for take off. Regards Brian

Today starting from ULMM with -14 C, right from the start my anemometer showed 0. I had the anti-ice on in the most severe conditions possible The anemometer unlocked for only a few seconds, marking my speed but then immediately returned to 0.

The next version of the DC-8 for P3D v.4.x is complete and will be available soon. The same will be available for FSX shortly thereafter. You will find it has an option to use an automated flight engineer. To use the automated engineer, you will still have to do everything yourself up to configuring the FE's panel for takeoff. You will have to remember in particular to set the cruise altitude in the cabin pressure part of the panel. Then, shortly after you advance the throttles to begin your takeoff run, the FE will go to work and you will hear a series of clicks from time to time as he works the panel. All functions are automated…

Hello, Lately I am having this weird pressurisation issue. It all started when I landed at La Paz,Bolivia which is at 13000 feet agl.The pressurisation system would not follow.Since then, the system is behaving weirdly.Taking off from Lima,Peru at sea level,I set the pressure altitude to 7000 feet for a flight at FL200. The system went above 10000 feet.I had to reload the plane to get the system to work normally again. This is the second time,I have to do this.A reset corrects the pressure issues.I am running P3D v4.5 on Windows 10 64K.The pneumatic switches and compressors are all set as they should be. Would anyone have any ideas what is happening …

Hello, I have the 32bit version installed with FSX/Acceleration. Marvelous plane! Thanks so much for developing the DC-8 for those of us still using the legacy simulator. I have one question: an earlier post in this forum referenced the following quick alignment procedure for the INS in P3Dv4. Does this method apply to the FSX version as well? I've tried the steps below, but the INS is still taking the normal amount of time to align (generally, 5+ minutes). Thanks in advance.

Hi Michael The oscillation problem at CRZ has not been resolved in v3. As I said in another post, CRZ is very stable up to and including FL350. Once you go higher, the oscillating problem presents itself and is most annoying. Could you please look into this matter again - it's not linked to low speeds but to high altitudes. Would be much appreciated. Regards Trevor
