  1. Started by Drawyah,

Morning guys, At what stage is the FSX/32-bit simulator compatibility and when is it expected to release? Looking in the forums, from what I can get is that it is now finished, just in the final stages of testing and that a release is imminent. I've seen some footage of the aircraft in action, it does look like it will be VERY interesting to fly, and with severe lagging issues in the other one on the market, I would like to get a full flight in on the Cigarette Jet! ^^

Hi. I just bought the DC-8 and I really like what I see, but I can't call-up the Loader Utility. The manual, on page 11, says to use shift+4. But I've read in this forum that shift+3 brings up loading. I get nothing with either keypress. What event in the keypress setup menu should the Loader Utility assigned to? I've reinstalled a number of times and still no luck. It's probably something on my end, but I'm lost as to what the problem is. Also, I use my controls XML is clean (I deleted the vast majority of key assignments a while back to reduce conflicts). Thanks! P.S. I load the tutorial flight first.

Any chance we could get a mod to the VC allowing the integration of the Milviz Wx radar? It looks like it would be an excellent fit and having a functional radar would be icing on an already impressive effort. I've really been enjoying this aircraft; well done!

  7. Started by Nominator,

Just wondering if anyone here has purchased the DC 8 from PC Aviator and has received the V1.03 update. My link to the DC 8 still shows V1.02 and a half dozen emails to PC Aviator have gone unanswered. On their DC 8 product page they advertise that the latest version is 1.03 but it doesn't appear to be available to their customers. I think this will be my last purchase from them!!

I am trying to find the procedure to start the DC-8 at gates with engine 3.. After push back how do i transfer air from engine 3 to engine 4 etc? The manual, Youtube Videos, and forum all seem to only be talking about starting up all 4 engines in an aeriea with a lot of "soft traffic". But is this the solution to get this to work? NOTE: Normal operations should be from the same bleed source on each engine on a respective side. If two bleed switches on a given side are left in different positions, all the bleed air on that side will be supplied from the engine for which the switch is in the HIGH position. The pressure from the high-pressure source w…

Hi guys! So i finally got the plane a few days ago to learn how to fly it while the cargo version arrives. The plane has a great value. I love the sounds and the modelling (specially the vc). i'm not a fan of the "Like new" look, since these planes are really old by now, but i can understand that they where new too in their time. The handling its amazing as well as the engine lag. I love the fact that you can turn the VC lights at any time, not only at night. That was a must for me. The system modelling is great too. as i said: this offers a lot of value for the money. A few things that i don't like: The product is focused so much in normal procedu…

I purchased the product, but by mistake as a method of payment I used prepayment instead of a credit card. My order number is 1159633. My order has not been processed yet. Can I use a credit card? Can you help me?

As per title, my switch AUTO/Manual cannot be turned to AUTO, whatever mouse click, wherever, whichever CDU, they just wont rotate to AUTO (Push to test works though and all lights are on), is there a "secret" click for that one? (I have used this CIVA INS with RFP 742 for years....! Cant remember any trick then). Thank you.

Hey all... again So I wanted to start a long haul from the top of Aus to Kai Tak. As i left everything went fine, but obviously when i reached WPT 9, it then started to do a perfect circle for a few hours then crash in the sea from fuel starvation. I'm wondering if there is a way to do a long haul, and how one would be able to change the way points in the INS? Still falling in love with this aircraft Thanks all!

I saw today that there is a 20% discount until May 21st. I'm still waiting for the 32bit version. If I buy it today, will I be able to re-download the installer with the 32-bit version?

  16. Hello, thank you for this excellent aircraft model. I downloaded version 1.02 on 14th May. I find that the promised updates: Simulator master battery switch not operated by the battery switch, so the engines do not start where there is a cold and dark saved default flight, even when the checklist is followed to the letter, not fixed. The word Parke brake on the parking brake, not fixed. If I may make a suggestion, perhaps you could add a 2D switch panel for Water rudder, Tail hook and if it cannot be fixed, Master battery switch that opens with Shift and 2. I have made one for myself out of FS 2002 c…

  17. I will be out of town and away from my computer until Monday May 21st. So until then please try to help each other out if you can. There is a new 64 bit version (1.03) coming soon with many fixes. And if you are a new user there are some hot fixes posted to fix the missing landing lights, and to solve a problem getting the fuel system to initialise properly:

  18. Hey all! So I'm in love with this bird, but recently i have had a bit of an issue. When i load the aircraft i get it in to cold and dark, and properly align the INS by entering the INS Position and waiting. It all works fine and the INS is showing the correct NAV, but when i set the autopilot to follow it, it just wont. I turn it to HDG mode then back to AUX and the aircraft just randomly banks left and doesn't stop. I don't know if there is anything I'm missing? Thank guys

Hi, I have noticed something I want to ask for: I know DC-8 is focused on normal operations but there few basic things that are simulated in all default aircraft: Reaching over speed for more than 1-2 minutes don´t active the crash on the sim (with crash set on) Overpass the limits of G-force won't cause or activate the over G crash on the sim. (that means move the plane as a fighter) Engine fire alarm won't detect if an engine is on fire even this alarm is simulated. Are these things going to be updated or will keep as they are? Cheers

  24. First of all, it's really great to finally have a decent DC-8! As a lover of classic aviation, this was what I was waiting for pretty long. I have come across some things that I wanted to share with you: Fuel system: -the crossfill valves are not functional. -crossfilling, like Mains with the Aux or vice versa, or from the center, doesn't work. -tank #3 quantity doesn't decrease during flight. Engines: -during engine start, fuel flow is already showing even though the fuel lever is still in cutoff -EPR should be selectable per engine, not for all at once Autopilot: -the animation of the main switc…

Hey, So I and some people I talked with experience very similar problem with DC-8 autopilot. Basically, when we engage heading select and vertical speed and the plane initiates the turn during initial climb, AP seems to be unable to hold selected VS properly and forces the plane into quite a nose dive. I could accept realistic oscillation between -300/+300fpm but going from 2200 fpm climb into 3000 fpm descend when the AP is turning to the selected heading is just crazy. The issue occurs across all phases of flight, just not with 100% repro rate. Bascially: 1. Take off. 2. Engage VS to achieve ~2000-2500 fpm climb. 3. select random heading…
