Support for the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended

Can anyone, in layman's terms, tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've opened the paint kit in GIMP, turned off the Special Liveries layer group, Exported as a Windows BMP, converted, using DTXBmp to DDS Texture - DXT 5 after flipping the texture and alpha. Opened in FSX and this is my blank canvas below. WTF? This was supposed to be easier than the Caranado paint kits but so far not even close. I'm fairly new to this so I'm sure I'm missing something, can anyone clue me in? 2021-1-29_17-53-19-352.BMP

Quotes from @Mathijs Kok "we will keep updating our aircraft for sure" & "the MFS models could be back ported to P3D." Will any updated model for MFS be produced, and if so will it benefit from a) PBR and b) windshield rain effects, and if yes to either, will these be updated into the P3D product please? Cheers K

Hi, would like to know if the Twin is compatible with P3D V5. If not, are you planning to update it? Regards, Jacques

  4. Hi, I am having a little trouble with my Tundra Twotter. The battery is flat so can't get her started. (same is true of Ski N wheels) So I have a DHC6-300 wheels flight all working and can start this from cold n dark with Battery and DC master on and providing power to turn on the avionics and run the starters. However if I start the flight again with a tundra model then switching on the battery and DC master provides no volts/power to avionics. (looking LVARs in Spad.next I can see zeros in all the battery/amp/volt/watts variables so something is amiss including external battery so external isn't going to help) Have I m…

Hi, i have desintaled time ago...and now reinstalled and download all my stuff. I have only a license for P3d V2, and the actual downloable version of Twin Otter Extended is not compatible...the last was 1.11, and i don't find where to download. Anyone can say me where to donwload-it? any tipe of lybrary for older versions? Thanks in advance. I apologice for my bad english, not my mother language. Salu2 😎

  8. I'm encountering this when starting up Cold & Dark on a ramp with the amphibian edition of the aircraft; I typically only bush pilot, so I haven't tried the other flavors. When I get to the point of doing the Prop Feather tests, the Retard to Feather never works. I've tried slowly moving my props to settings from 1% to 100%, but nothing in that range ever gives me a green "v". I'm able to right-click to override and succeed on the next test to set props to full. All other tests previous to this are a success with no need to override any. Any ideas why this is happening?

  9. Evening, Wasn’t sure which forum to add this too - scenery vs aircraft. Thought I’d try here and see what happens. I’m trying the ferry flights included with the Antarctica scenery. A few of the legs in South America are outside of the range of the Twin Otter. I think it’s something like 770nm where some of the legs are over 1000nm. I think the manual mentioned something about internal tanks. Aside from running with unlimited fuel, is there any way to simulate this? I know there is a switch to turn on/off the wingtip tanks, but there wouldn’t be one to use the internal tanks. It would be easy enough to land at one of the airport along…

On Twin Otter Extended, setting VOR 1 on GNS-530 (vloc) shows up on Co-pilot HSI but not on Captain's. Tried everything but de-install/re-install. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I realise the F1 GTN750 cannot be placed in the VC of the Twin Otter but for some reason I can't see the F1 GTN Stack even though it is installed. Anybody had or solved this issue? Also is it possible to get the click on the Virtual Cockpit GPS to open the GTN750 window rather than the default 530 window. That would be really useful. Mike

Hey all!! I recently have been loving the show Outer Banks and would love to see the repaint for that twin otter. The registration is N132FX. If someone knows where one is or can create one in the cargo variant I would appreciate it much. Thanks!!

If you own this aircraft then you immediatly know what I'm talking about, but briefly explained the engine audio glitches and the planes accelerates/jumps forward until it a few seconds later calms down again. I was wondering if there are any solutions to fixing this problem that doesn't involve payware? On a side note I have seen a forum thread where one of the members said the problem is caused by Microsoft, since this aircraft is running on Microsoft's code unlike some other planes. Apparently this problem is also widely known on other turbo prop payware. Thanks in advance.

I recently upgraded my computer and found that I had to re-download some of my sceneries and aircraft, the Twin Otter being one of them. All switches and dials work but I cannot remove the Yoke! I have clicked on every part of it and it will not go away!! My sim platform is P3D v4.5. Any help will be appreciated!!

  16. Good afternoon to all! Does anybody knows how to put on and off the skis on the British Artic Model? I found the knob underneath the pilot seat, I noticed that the control lights were on, but nothing happened when the mouse cursor was in place. Thanks to all and bye.

I fear this subject has been well canvassed and if so would someone please point me to the discussion. I see that F1 include the Otter as listed for reception (?) on their list however I can get a Garmin into the plane but not into the existing panel use area. It will only reside on what I think might be one of the numbered pages e.g. F11? Anyway, I've only been able to load a copy into an A2A panel but that might have been luck as I can't get through all the verbiage and determine how it should be done. Many thanks for any any advice. Hi, When intentionally set engines on fire, alarms and procedures are working fine, but there is no smoke or fire effect on the engines. Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Effects contains fx_Aerosoft_Twot_engfire.fx and fx_Aerosoft_Twot_engsmoke.fx files which should be visible in the sim under these circumstances. I am not sure how to force visibility of these effects as they should be part of this product by itself. Windows 7 Professional 64 bit FSX / Acceleration (SP2) (Boxed) Aerosoft Twin Otter X Extended v1.21a Please tell me how to fix this. Conect

Hi Aerosoft, I have just installed P3D v4 on Win10. Using the twin otter was high on my list. But I encounter a strange effect. Install as admin ok. P3D start, puel planner to load fuel and pax, works fine. Next time I start P3D file exe from fuel planner has disappeared from P3D/ecosystem folder and is nowhere to be found on computer. Twotter reinstalled. Same happens again. Hope you have a solution. Sincerely yours, Gert57

  25. Started by Dirk-NL,

I'm flying the TwinOtter with great pleasure (P3Dv4.5), but I find the trim a bit complicated to operate. Maybe that's just because I haven't found the right way. I use FSUIPC with a button on my Saitek yoke for trim Elev. Trim Down and Elev. Trim Up. That works fine as long as the autopilot is not flying the plane. In the descend phase of the flight the AP NAV is still on to keep me on the approach course; ALT is OFF from the beginning of the descend and when I use the button on my yoke to trim, nothing happens. When I check the trimwheel on the side of the captain's seat I see it move and snap back. The only way to trim the bird down is by the trimwheel on t…
