	Hello, I got the TwinOtter through the Lukla Package for P3dv4. As I understand, it's a stripped down version of the Twin Otter extended. What I noticed, there is no tool for fuel planning and loading the aircraft as mentioned in the manual? Where can I get this?

	Hi All,
</p>

<p>
	I'm having a bit of a problem changing the fuel load using the fuel planner, I can alter the Pax load and the cargo load using the sliders but how do I alter the fuel load? Clicking on the Tank pictures does nothing. I'm simulating a flight from A to B to pick up Pax and then on to C without refuelling at B, effectively A to B is a Tanking flight with 0 Pax. Indeed when I flew A to B the planner underestimated the fuel required and both engines shut down shortly after touch down!

	Hello, All:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've been trying to find a way to install the Twin Otter into P3D v5. I have found a few posts that say some individuals have installed the Twin into v5 but there are no instructions on how to do so. I've downloaded the latest version from my Aerosoft account but the installer has no option for P3D v5: just v4. I have a P3D v4 Addons folder and when I try to install to that I get an error stating "FSX Cannot be found".
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Is there an installer for v5? Or a possible work around? I only have P3D v5 installed on the new PC I built and would like very much to be able to fly the Twin again. If anyone knows how to install it to v5 and is willing to provide instructions I would really appreciate it.

	Hi,

<p>

</p>

<p>
	A question to the Twin Otter experts: I took a photo of the instruments on a flight with the Twin Otter in Maldives some years ago. If I fly with the same power settings, I get pretty the same values. Only GG RPM is way off. While on Maldives it was near 100%, I only get 72% in the simulator (P3D 5.3). Ist this just not simulated exactly? Find enclosed the two pictures.

	Hi all,
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	My turn to present the project I started four years ago now... With a back footstep now, I would never imagined this adventure was so time and energy consumer.
</div>

<div>
	I remember when I started during the easter holidays ... I said to myself it is a three months sprint <img alt=":D" data-ratio="100.00" width="16" src="https://storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png" />
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Why the DHC-6 aircraft ?  Just because it is a plane which can be used to go everywhere in the world.  With wheels, skis, floats and even amphibian versions ... we see this aircraft in situation where it is the only one really able to go there : Antarctica,  Lukla (highest airport in the Himalaya), Saba (shortest runway in the Carabeans), Tapini (a moutain valley in the New Guinea), the Maldives (where we can find the biggest DHC6 float planes base), the Marquises islands in French Polynesia... and a lot of other areas you probably know.
</div>

<div>
	Thus, for me, it was an evidence that this plane is the most appropriate for a simer to play everyrwhere without being bored...
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Like most homecockpit builder, I started by a lot of research on the web.  I quickly realized that the DHC-6 TwinOtter does not exist...  And that everything has to be built !!
</div>

<div>
	Apart the radiostack with the GPS GNS530 and the common radio elements which can be found, all the rest does not exist for simer...
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	After a couple of months of reflexion... i finished to stay on a balance between screens and buttons (to average the money spent too).
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Rapidly, I selected :
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	<ul style="list-style-type:disc;">
		<li>
			the <b>P3D flight simulator</b> I was already using   (now i am looking to switch to the new FS2020 simulator which is fantastic for VFR I need with the Twotter)
		</li>
		<li>
			The <b>Aerosoft DHC-6 TwinOtter Extended</b>  because it seems the best for a lot of simers
		</li>
		<li>
			<b>AirManager </b>tool from SimInnovations to display the gauges on screens
		</li>
		<li>
			<b>IOCards </b>from a French electronic provider (OpenCockpits compatible)
		</li>
		<li>
			<b>Joystick cards</b> from the same electrronic provider <a href="https://efde.fr" rel="external nofollow">EFDE (efde.fr)</a>
		</li>
		<li>
			On demand built components from <a href="https://www.homecockpits.fr/fr/" rel="external nofollow">HomeCockpit.fr</a>
		</li>
		<li>
			All the rest built from wood and plexy
		</li>
	</ul>
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Quickly I realized I will not have the space to build a complete cabin with both left and right seats...
</div>

<div>
	So my homecockpit will be the left seat and the center console
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	From the sizes I got from the web, i choosed to use 17" screen monitors in landscape for the captain instruments and another one in portrait for the engines gauges
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	<img alt="https://nsm09.casimages.com/img/2018/06/18//18061809493013220415767738.jpg" data-ratio="56.25" width="800" src="https://nsm09.casimages.com/img/2018/06/18//18061809493013220415767738.jpg" />
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Then some plexy with holes to see the gauges.  This facade is the captain instrument one.
</div>

<div>
	The alerters have been made by HomeCockpit on demand for my DHC6.  They are based on existing Airbus korrys  (some can be pushed).
</div>

<div>
	The AP has been designed by myself and built by HomeCocpkit too. Like the Fire Panel (picture below)
</div>

<div>
	The bezels (to decorate the holes with a real instrument look) have been 3D printed by EFDE.
</div>

<div>

	The box below was one fuel selector panel I placed here to hold the buttons at the normal place  (like the real plane) ...

	The DHC6 gauges are gauges built by a French friend who has finished is TwinOtter for the specific ones, the others are SimInnovation free gauges General Aviation ones.
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Here to unload the PC of extra display needs with graphic card outputs and CPU load,  I choosed to use a new AirManager functionnality (it was new two years ago <img alt="O_o" data-ratio="100.00" width="16" src="https://storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/browraise.png" /> ) : The Raspberry Pi
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	Here we have one Raspberry Pi connected to the left screen and another Raspberry Pi conencted to the engines screen.  *
</div>

<div>
	It is smooth and totaly frees the PC... AirManager loaded on the nano computers receives the simulator in live over the network and represent the data with the appropriate gauge.
</div>

<div>
	The work is done once, we do have to think after.  The Raspberry are doing their lives themselves !!  A very good solution for a homecockpit solution I think !
</div>

<div>

</div>

<div>
	I use even a third raspberry to display the battery gauges.  In the photo below, you see the 3D cockpit view and below the real display of my homecockpit.
</div>

<div>
	The difference here is that the  screen is a 10" one encapsulated on the Pi
</div>

<div>

</p>

	HELLO Fellows , I love my DHC-6 Extended and was doing a 680NM flight for a nice job , when close to destination the fuel finish and I was landing on a small runaway without no fuel. I am using FSX STEAM. I have done the correcto procedure to bring fuel from another airport buy another plane and aparently all was ok I got fuel now onboard , BUT CTRL E the engines beguin to work and stop . A never learn how to do the check list completly.
</p>

<p>
	The aircraft fly with no problem , as soon as I get in FSECONOMY using the fse Simconnect ther was o lot of warnings on the panel.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://ibb.co/fN1bMkH" rel="external nofollow">https://ibb.co/fN1bMkH</a>
</p>

<p>
	check the link to see all warning lights.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	First  Question is possible to reset the problem and fly again?
</p>

<p>
	Second question , do I have to do all Checklist to sort out the problem?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanking in advance, I have to get the plane in 24 hours otherwise the assignement finish.
</p>

	I have read all the topics in this forum on this subject, however, among all the suggestions, none solved the problem of switching VHF radio.<br />
	Windows10 updated<br />
	P3Dv4<br />
	I understand that, for now, this product should be considered as an aircraft without radio and without ILS / VOR; or no?

	OK, I may be as dumb as a doornail, but maybe someone here can help me
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	1. How do you get the beta range lights to extinguish?  In flight, full throttle, and full forward on the prop even, they won't turn off.
</p>

<p>
	2. Possibly related to above.  How do you disengage the startlocks?  I have tried numerous times in several different combinations, and can't seem to have any luck
</p>

<p>
	3. Where is the autofeather switch?  I can't seem to find it anywhere
</p>

<p>
	4. Checklists don't seem to take prop feathering into account, and there's a few that I can't get past because it calls for feathering or full forward (or 23%)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Help!

	I have started having a new problem with the Twin Otter amphib. I have it set to cold and dark start up. When I start up the sim with the TW on the water, it starts powered up and then shuts down, control locks on. After a minute or so, still cold and dark, the aircraft starts moving backwards as if reverse thrust is engaged.  I use a mix of Lorby SI and FSUIPC for controls. I have disabled these and there are no controls set in the sim.  I have done a full reinstall of the aircraft with no change. It does not occur with a wheeled version on the ground, and also does not occur with other float versions, just the amphib.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Anyone experienced this before and know of a fix or what I may be doing wrong?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Any suggestions would be appreciated.
</p>

	Hi everybody. I have a beginner's question.
</p>

<p>
	I read the best I could the devoted manual 2 but there is something I don't get (maybe because I am not native English speaker)
</p>

<p>
	 By now I practice what seems relatively simple : GPS flight based on Flight Plan. I am more used to the garmin 500 but I will manage I think.
</p>

<p>
	I have hard time dealing with adjusting the altitude.
</p>

<p>
	What I understood : you want to flight at 2000 ft. Once you fly at 2000feet, , you click on the <strong>trim up</strong> button   then on the <strong>ALT</strong> button. As a result, starting from this point, your plane will stabilize automatically at 2000 ft.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image ipsAttachLink_right" href="https://forum.aerosoft.com/uploads/monthly_2021_02/1768037758_forumtwotter.png.6632f8e56b7b971aee7271632b5c77ba.png" rel="" style="float:right;">I have </a>But I did not understand how to "inject" a correct descend speed".  I don't understand the use of the "set altitude" panel . And maybe there is an adjustement on one of the instruments of the picture, I don't get the importance.
</p>

<p>
	I will synthetize my question in an unique imaginary situation <span>:</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	 You're 40 nm of your ToD (point to start you descend) You are let's say 15000 feet high  at the time when the Distance to this point of descent is 40nm and you would like to arrive there at its (prescribed) height, let's say 2400 feet hight. How do you plan your flight using  the Collins AP and whatever else is necessary. .
</p>

<p>
	 I did not find time  to learn the performances of the Twoot ext. So, my figures might be irrealistic. Proper correction appreciated.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thank you so much for your time. <a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="158382" href="https://forum.aerosoft.com/uploads/monthly_2021_02/image.png.21c1b699f5d6a2950128a530fb763853.png" rel=""><img alt="image.thumb.png.2d54bc1538bdc899669a989880e2c4a2.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="158382" data-ratio="75.00" width="600" src="https://forum.aerosoft.com/uploads/monthly_2021_02/image.thumb.png.2d54bc1538bdc899669a989880e2c4a2.png" /></a>

	hello,
</p>

<p>
	I am an old guy who has stopped to understand things immediately. Inspite of that, I decided to practice Flight sim again , not only that, with a paying airplane (it's not about money, it's about to learn more on air air plane)s. My computer is i7, supposedly still  a good chipset, but my graphic card is only 2 Ga RAM  and my CPU 2.4Gz . Maybe that's why I have issues.
</p>

<p>
	Question 1
</p>

<p>
	-1)The data flight recorder doesn't record. Someone had this issue and was told on the forum to move a certain  file (from <strong>Documents/Aerosoft/AerosoftTwinOtterExtended/Flight Recorder)</strong>, which was wrong,  to <strong>Documents\AerosoftFlightRecorder </strong>, and was happy with the result. I have  3 files there  now<span>: </span>
</p>

<p>
	<em>aircraft.xml, </em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>FuelPlannerSavedSetting.xml, </em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>TwotterX.as; </em>
</p>

<p>
	The last one should be Ok?  Anywya it still doesn't work.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	 This is a bit old stuff and a search on the web for this app gave nothing.  (it 's a different app thah  TOt Ext. in itself) Thank you so much for your time for now.

	Can anyone, in layman's terms, tell me what I'm doing wrong.  I've opened the paint kit in GIMP, turned off the Special Liveries layer group, Exported as a Windows BMP, converted, using DTXBmp to DDS Texture - DXT 5 after flipping the texture and alpha.  Opened in FSX and this is my blank canvas below.  WTF?  This was supposed to be easier than the Caranado paint kits but so far not even close.  I'm fairly new to this so I'm sure I'm missing something, can anyone clue me in?

	Hi,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am having a little trouble with my Tundra Twotter. The battery is flat so can't get her started.
</p>

<p>
	(same is true of Ski N wheels)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So I have a DHC6-300 wheels flight all working and can start this from cold n dark with Battery and DC master on and providing power to turn on the avionics and run the starters.
</p>

<p>
	However if I start the flight again with a tundra model then switching on the battery and DC master provides no volts/power to avionics.
</p>

<p>
	(looking LVARs in Spad.next I can see zeros in all the battery/amp/volt/watts variables so something is amiss including external battery so external isn't going to help)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Have I missed something? Or does anyone know of a variable I could initialise that would give me a battery to start up?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Also should mention that I have moved to new Simobjects directory from /aircraft to /CA Twins. I am looking to see if I can see that affecting ....if someone knows then this would help.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Pointers appreciated.
</p>

<p>
	NB have already tried trike n default flight but seeing as I have dh6-300 wheels working - a swap to Tundra should work/not have rogu variable values etc in the new flight.
