Twin Otter Extended

After the install my first 'go' is the manuals and the forum. To my surprise I have only found the usage of NavData by Aerosoft's own NavDataPro and not for Navigraph. I could not find answers on the forum on this subject. A bit surpising, because other Aerosoft products like the Airbus, can handle both. I don't think it's a big job to tell Navigraph what the Data format of the TwinOtter is and ask them to release a download for this aircraft. Or can I use the Airbus format instead and copy/paste it? If anyone remembers my Twin Otter cockpit, things have moved on a bit. I just made a new autopilot, which is the first proper 'output' device outside of having gauges on a monitor screen. Okay, it's not quite like the real thing but it works pretty well

Hi, 1.I have read the remedies for the inoperative nav radio on this aircraft. I have unnistalled/installed.I have searched for the file 'quart.ttf. and it does not seem to be on my pc.The nav radio when tuned does not show any details,no needle movement and no aural ident.The comms are working.I have version v1.21 from flight sim store and there are no updates in my account there. 2.On the GPS pressing the FPL button always give me a direct to wpt to complete.Thus,there is no way to manually add a flight plan. I don't know if its possible but the DHC 6 300 is my favorite aircraft and i would really love to see a newer version come out. Preferably with the option to swap between the Garmin GTN 650/750 Stacked and the Garmin GNS 430/530 stacked avionics suite. thanks in advance

Hi, Ive only recently discovered the Twin Otter again and am enjoying it but when climbing out the aircraft rolls to the left, it also does this when in the final stages of descent to land. If I input some rudder trim in the opposite direction it just rolls to the right! When in the cruise there is no roll at all. This is the only aircraft I fly that this happens to, its really spoiling the whole experience now. Any ideas please!? Regards Andy

Hi all, I've seen the same problem in another forum but no fix, but when I do the fire system test I get a clicking sounds, same for overhead buttons, etc. I downloaded this plane from the Flight Sim Store so maybe it's not the newest version? Although it did allow a native P3D V.4 install. Any ideas? Thanks!

Just updated to P3Dv4 version and am pleasantly surprised how much better it looks than in FSX. Am I imagining this ? With the reflection and GTN mod, I am loving it.

Hi I just install P3D v4 and DHC6 twin otter extended. I open P3D the DHC-300 wheels don´t appear on list of vehicules (default liveries) I checked the files installed and aircraf.cfg alls are installed and ok Thank for your help Jean Marc aircraft.cfg

Is there a way to get the Flight1 GTN750 or 650 into the twin otter panel?

Recently purchased the above but the check list creates all the wrong views making it quite unusable. Is it true there is a patch that fixes this.I have a friend who runs that same aircraft using Chase Plane and has no problems!

I tried an NDB ils approach to rwy 30 at Cardiff this evening and found I could not tune the NDB in the Twin Otter as there is a 0.5 in its frequency. Is there an update or fix for this? Mike

A while back (!) I posted about using Dietmar Loleit's HUDCA HUD gauge in the Twin Otter. Unfortunately, when I switched to P3Dv4 recently I found that it wouldn't work. It seems the reason is that there is a small compiled gauge (Config.gau) to load the settings from the ini file, which doesn't work. The good news is that the HUD itself is an XML gauge and does work! All you have to do is stuff the mandatory Lvars with values instead of defining them in the ini file and it will work as normal! Hi all I have the twin otter extended for P3D and have it set to 'Ready to fly' but the props aren't spinning. Am I missing something? I keep having to start with a different 'plane then swith vehicles

Is there anyway to disable the twotter config pages from popping up every flight? Its not a problem if I start a flight on the ground but if I save a flight in the air and then return to it the config page pops up and resets all of my switches. I've tried checking various settings on the config page but non of the settings seem to get saved. P3D V3

I built a news system using FSX and Windows 10 and this bird is one of my favourites but for some unknown reason and out of options , when I'm airborne and engage the auto pilot the throttles go bezerk and I have to shove them up and down a few times to get them tamed down , this is the only plane that does this and I have no idea . The setting of the throttles was never really the best and always real jerky. Hello! I just purchased what looks like an amazing plane on the Flight1 store and had planned on using it for P3Dv4. But when I went to install it, it only seemed to support up to P3Dv2. I noticed on the aerosoft website it says under the system requirements that it supports v3 and v4. Did I error buying the plane on the Flight1 website?? Please help! Thank you. -Jordan

Hi, I have seen this topic several times on the forum but I have not found any conclusive answer. I got Twin Otter Extended yesterday and wanted to load some extra liveries. I dowloaded several liveries (example below). When I run AS Livery Manager and hit 'Add Livery' button I keep getting message like "Sorry, this file cannot be installed". When i tried drag&drop method, new window pops up, but no preview is generated and AS LM gets stuck. When I load the Twin Otter (v1.21) in P3D 4.3, even if I have the load cold and dark option check, the plane load with full throttle for e few second and then it goes in cold and dark. So during that short period of time, the plane will move forward for about 50 to 75 feet's, even if I have the brakes on. In small airport the plane will go off the parking pavement and stop in the grass, very annoying. I need to reposition the plane using the slew mode. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks
