F-14 Tomcat

this question has been asked a lot and it has been met with "me too" and "that sucks lol" i want to have a thread that correctly discusses a fix for this because its been driving me mad in multiplayer, whenever i am lined up for the cat and try to kneel with nws on, it kneels then nws goes off and it thinks "oh they want to not kneel" thus not kneeling even though i wasnt the one to turn nws off it was the act of kneeling itself, this makes it so it is impossible to do a cat takeoff from the carrier deck, i hope i get some answers and this is the final thread of this (im running fsx with tacpack btw)

I get a problem with the F-14B. F-14A is ok. Chosing F-14B in the P3D Scenario causes an immediat crash to desktop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the F-14 several times. No Sucess. Version in Aerosoft updater: 3.1.0.2 P3D-Version 4.5.14.34698 Can somebody help me?

I can not get the catapult launch action to work . the kneel command goes half way and then returns . it kneels only when the assist launch is actioned but is not stable and the launch does not occur at all. I hope there is a fix . Can you assist Thank you

I just rebuilt my rig, and am attempting to re-install my aircraft. The F-14 extended does not how up in the simulator, although there is an 'F-14' folder in my simobjects\Airplanes folder. But, that said, I'm not sure that it is the RIGHT F-14. And on the first P3Dv4 startup after the install the scenery library updates, indicating to me that it has installed the scenery for it. Any ideas what is going wrong with the install that is preventing it from showing up in the sim? I also attempted an uninstall and re-install, so no avail. FWIW I am apparently using version 3.00 of the F-14 extended. I bought it from the flightsimstore, which is no longer in business, so …

All I have been able to do is dispense chaff and flares simultaneously by mapping the "Floats Retract" to a hotas button- which I believ is DLC Toggle. I have to hit the button again to make chaff/flare dispense stop. Is there a way to map chaff to dispense "individually" by a button and the same with flare on another separate button? I have FSUIPC. Also, the usual Tacpack "C" and "F" keys for this purpose do not seem to work on the F14. Argh... Any insight would be greatly appreciated....

So has anyone tried the Cat in V5 yet and if so how does it work?!?!

Hi all Hope everyone is well when i load one of the scenarios no Carriers appear and when i have looked through old forum posts it seems like the problem was that i had my ships turned down but when i put them on full they still dont show i run p3d as a admin and have bvai model matching for vatsim any help would be appreciated also running the latest version of the tomcat

Hi, I have this issue on a carrier deck where I cannot get the aircraft to kneel and attach the launch bar to the catapult. I press either "kneel" in the cockpit or "crtl-w" on the keyboard, and the launch bar will start to extend, then hesitate and try to return to the stowed position. If I press shift -i to attach to the catpult, it will kneel and extend the launch bar, but the catapult will not function and the aircraft does not launch. My current system is Windows 10 and I have AS_F-14-EXTENDED_FSX-FSXSTEAM_V202.exe as my copy of the F14 download.

Gentlemen, On my system, with the latest update for p3d v4.5, the altitude hold does not maintain the altitude when engaged. Also, the VSI and altimeter gauges occasionally go crazy, fluctuating all over the place. I cannot give the flight parameters except to say I am in a climb and sometimes a descent. System: i7 4700 on an Asus P9700 pro. Win10 Home 64, Nvidia 1070 card driver 442.59. Thanks for your help. Greetings all, I'm hoping that one of you might know whether or not this is intentional, maybe I'm just a fool. Anyway, I invested in Prepar3d v4 and decided to transfer my Aerosoft F-14 onto the platform. So far I'm much more impressed with the quality of P3D over FSX. Anyway, when I'm in the Virtual Cockpit of the F-14A or the F-14B, whenever I select Air to Air mode on the right side of the panel, the flight stick in the center disappears. I have no problems with this in T/O, Cruise, A-G or LDG mode, only A-A. Is this intentional? If not, is there a way to show it? Thanks.

So a few weeks ago I upgraded to the latest version of the F-14X... My issue is that the Payload Manager Panel (shift-2) no longer saves Sim Start Options on the control tab so every time I load the F-14X or switch between F-14X variants I have to re-check all the boxes. As I recall in the last version whatever I had checked was saved an autoloaded anytime I loaded the Tomcat. Any ideas as to what to do about this or is this just a characteristic of the latest version? Thanks

So, I figured I'd try the forums since I've asked Aerosoft Support about this twice (to which they were very helpful, I might add). Two days ago I purchased the F-14X from the Aerosoft store for FSX: Steam Edition. I'm a big fan of the jet and the addon seemed worth an investment. Things went perfect with the module until I tried to launch from the CAT on the Kittyhawk in the pre-saved Free Flight Carrier Operations with the F-14A and the F-14B. When I went to crouch the gear and deploy the launch bar, it would go halfway down and then seemingly stop and go back up. I recently found out that the F-14X for P3D has an update that provides compatibility with the SWS carriers. I checked my account but the latest version is from 2018. I read about the AS Updater utility. The F-14 installer does not install it. I tried rerunning it with AV off and it certainly did not install any AS Updater. I found the AS Updater files here on the forum and extracted them in ...\Documents\Aerosoft\ASUpdater folder. I also created a subfolder called "Products" in there. The Aerosoft F14 is one of the simulation industries great aircraft but unfortunately during re installation onto latest version of prepar3d, prepar3d almost immediately on load up of the F14 produces a crash cdt on pressing Ok on bottom right corner. . To load, I tried directly from the selection menu or changing aircraft once at the default airport/aircraft both with same results. Since I have not had issues for several years with aircraft (I mostly fly the Aerosoft CRJ & PMDG aircraft I am unsure how to trouble shoot this case or how to get needed crash logs. Hi all I just purchased the F-14 extended yesterday so I'm just figuring it all out, but I cannot figure out why the FLOLS does not display on the Kitty Hawk for me. According to the manual the FLOLS is loaded automatically and "The lens should be visible from within 1.5 miles and does not require any action on part of the pilot to activate (such as tuning a frequency)." I have checked and the gauge is loaded in the panel.cfg. I'm running Windows 10 and P3D v4.5 and do have Tacpack installed. I'm wondering if it's a compatibility issue with version 4.5 of P3D, or if it's a known issue and if there is a fix. Any assistance would…

I am trying to get the lantirn up and working in my FSX Steam. I have mapped the slew commands to the landing light and they work as expected The manual then says use "G1000 MFD cursor select" as the RIO target select function. looking at the control options-- buttons keys area of FS I don't see a selection named exactly that. I see a a "G1000 MFD CRSR (Activate)" when I use that input it does not select stabilize or .designate a target for the Lantirn as far as I can tell, nothing happens

As already mentioned in the post of Richard Portier, i do not have a tacan or ils signal on the carriers. Fot the Kitty hawk i use 109.00 or the 27X tacan, AWL/PCD is activated in the cockpit. Have the latest edition of the F14 and P3Dv4.4 . I also installed the AICarriers from the Rikoo website. In fact this ILS /VOR ^roblem is the only issue i encounter with the F14 in P3Dv4.4. On the other hand VOR and ILS work perfectly when tested at airports on shore. Very strange. Please could someone solve this problem? Thanks in advance Grts

I can't remember (and can't find in search) how to adjust the view/zoom/camera or whatever to get the F-14B HUD to display correctly in the VC. When I adjust the eyepoint back enough to see the front panel instruments the HUD stays large and I can only see the very center of it displayed. Any help appreciated. P3Dv4.5 Bruce

I had the F14 running perfectly on P3d v4.3 but now I have had to reinstal windows and lost the installer for that I have had to use v4.5. The issue (not fatal but annoying ) is that on the flight deck the static aircraft in particulat sort of "jiggle" about. Is this a 4.5 issue or is it a representation of sea movement. That said changing the sea condition to calmer by changing the weather theme to fair does not seem to help as it did on my previous now redundant carrier sim. Any thoughts please?

Hello all, As has been reported previously, I can't get the load manager to function in P3D V3.4. Some of the cockpit instruments don't function either; the throttle doesn't move in the VC, although I can control the throttles. I've reinstalled 3 times, reinstalled simconnect, etc. Nothing seems to work. Any assistance, tips, or suggestions would be appreciated. I really want to fly this model! Thanks in advance, Mark K.

Hi, After installing version v3.00 (FEB 19th installer) I noticed that Aircraft Manager does NOT work when I tried to set the fuel in 1/4 or armament (Payload). I also noticed that Flap, Spoiler, Wing Sweep, Throttle lever, Flap lever, etc. also did NOT work . I tried to uninstall and install again 3x and it was the same. (I used version 2.02 previously with NO problem) As I also have P3D v4.2, I installed the same file guess what? Everything worked perfectly: Aircraft Manager, Wing Sweep, Throttle lever, Flap lever, etc. 100% OK So, I believe there is a problem with this installer on P3Dv3. Has someone using P3Dv3 experienc…

I installed the F-14 Tomcat for P3D V4.2 and already my braid is fried. Either I am not understanding something or totally over seeing the problem. I have of course read the PDF files on how to operate the wings. I open up in 'ready to taxi' mode with the wings swept fully back. I have tried Auto, AFT, FWD, BOMB while moving the sweep lever forward/back with no movement from the wings whatsoever. I'm beginning to wonder if you will all think I'm stupid at this moment in time because I am beginning to think this too. Not sure what else I am missing.
