F-14 Tomcat

I’m finally starting to get the hang of flying this bird around the boat. I’m still pretty consistently getting 1 wires. I’m using VLSO… I don’t use the default FSX carrier (I don’t like the model)… I use the Javier Fernandez carriers (AI carriers 2), CVN 63 that came with the package and the Team SDB CVN-65. For the SDB CVN-65 (I use 110.5 for the default “normal” meatball setup with 3.5deg approach angle… but I like the advanced option… I think the landing area lighting is better, but the FREQs are different (116/116.50) so… when I switch to the advanced by changing FREQs… I get the landing area light change and the 4.0 deg meatball, but loose the F-14 AWLS cues o…

Hello everyone, I've noticed some features in F-14X Extended (which look like new?), like moving knobs & switches, although they don't have real effect in the Tomcat systems yet. They are at the RIO Left Side Console; in the Radar / IR / TV (TCS) control panel (the image below). Does anyone know what are the marked knobs & switches, A, B and C, and what exactly they do ?

Hi All, I have 2 quick questions: 1) WING EXT TRANS - how should I set it? The manual says "auto", but the Aerosoft checklist says "off" when taxiing, and it doesn't mention it anymore. 2) In the manual it wasn't clear to me: can I assign the wing sweep buttons (extend, retract, manual, auto, bomb) to some buttons without FSUIPC? What is new in 2.02? I found out carrier lights work in P3D, however if I spawn carrier more than 8Nm away they don't work. Is possible to do something with meatball to be visible from bigger distance in P3D? It is still visible just from 0.4Nm. Is possible to fix AI Tu-95 and Su-27? Tu-95 flies with landing gear down probably because it is too slow and Su-27 has some problem with textures in P3D.

Hi all, Using P3D v2.5 with TacPack 1.4.2.8 Whenever I select AWL/PCD for a Carrier approach the ILS needles do not display on the HUD and VDI in both F-14 variants. Aircraft is in approach config, in range to the carrier, NAV mode set, HUD and VDI selected to ILS. Tacan channel in the aircraft and TacPack menu are set to 27X and ILS Freq 109.00 Have reinstalled the F-14 and TacPack. Have I missed something ?

Hi, since I'm used to fly in actual weather/time conditions (my add-ons are ASN & REX), at different times of the same flight, I find difficult if not impossible to maneuver and/or control the F-14. I can't believe that a 10/15 knots windspeed and cloudy skies can send out of control a plane flying at 500 knots. My averegare asltitude is between 5/7.000 ft AGL. Before writing you I made some check and even a friend of mine, just for a cross-examination, found this very same issue. Am I missing some step in configuring the plane or is there some incompatibility between these parameters? Thanks for any help Fulvio

How can I choose between "Continuous target designation" and "Single target designation" in Area mode?

The wake seem odd? Don't recall it being this way in FSX. This is with P3D v3.2.3.16769 and F-14X Extended. I'm wondering if a particular setting within P3D could remedy it? I was wondering if anyone here is using the RFN gauge with the F-14X? I have been trying to tidy up my CV experience and setup, and the RFN gauge would give me a nice set of features outside the Kittyhawk. I am really just looking for the FLOLS attached to the carrier (not 2D gauge). However, it seems that if I have this active, the ILS needles in the F-14X are not functional. I was setting up the RFN gauge to use NAV2 (tuned to hard coded frequency 110.65 for empty Team SDB Enterprise) and using NAV1/TCN to tune to the hard coded 110.50 for the F-14X Team SDB Enterprise. I spawn the carrier using TacPack. The TCN and RFN FLOLS will work, but now the AWL/…

I'm noticing that after I engage a target sometimes the Last RADAR mode wont clear... e.g. the STT line stays fixed on the displays (TID.DDD)... is this a MEM/Software, or operator issue? Anyone seeing this? Pushing other RADAR modes... e.g. TWS Auto, PDS, RWS... all do nothing.... RADAR seems frozen

Hello, I have the paid version of FSUIPC (never used, it's new to me) and I desired to use the profile .lua for the F-14 but the program does not find it. Should I move it to a specific location? For now,it's in FSX / modules. My os computer is win 10.

Hi Aerosoft, Is there any chance in a future update to implement HUD, VDI & HSD brightness & contrast functionality through cockpit brightness and contrast knobs ? Using P3D v2.5 with HDR enabled which makes these displays difficult to read due to excessive blur. It's a little annoying to keep on having to shift my view outside the cockpit just to get the HUD to refocus. Regards

Hi After updating to 2.02, I went to alter my Config files in order to change3 mirrors since unfortunately I cant afford the FPS with full on mirrors, but once I had changed those files the F14 no longer appeared in the vehicle list. Nobody else seems to be reporting that problem this time so am I doing something wrong? Thanks Neil

Downloaded the new version V.2.02 dated 1/7/16 from my account, but when I run the installer it shows as V 2.01. Is this correct?

I was wondering if there was any progress, information, and/or thoughts on the issue at least some people are having with not seeing the meatball until about 0.4 NM on the Kittyhawk? The ship model is phenomenal, but the meatball visibility issue keeps her in port for me, as that's just too late to start flying the ball.

Hey guys, Love the Tomcat, and she's beautiful to fly, but the cockpit instruments and labels are really difficult to make out in the Oculus Rift, I think due to there being no mip maps for those textures? I don't have the same issue with some other aircraft like the VRS Superbug, are there any textures available with mip maps, or could somebody guide me to where they are so that I can edit them?

Suddenly I can't seem to engage DLC except by mouse-clicking the button on the virtual stick. I've gone back through the manual and reprogrammed the function in FSUIPC several times, but still nada. I'm using the Hotas Warthog, trying to set the DLC to the red button on the left throttle grip.

I'm trying to get my head around how the carrier ILS works for the F-14X. I'm flying P3D v3.2 and the Kitty Hawk has been returned to port due to visibility issues with the meatball. I have both Javier's Nimitz/Ike and Team SDB Enterprise. Just recently bought the F-14 and I try to load one of the pre made situations and there are no carriers. I have the CV-63 added in my scenery and I have my sea traffic density to max. Why would that be? Thanks Harry

Hi, I've been using my G940 Flight System for some time now and had no problems at all. Now I've bought the F14 and I like it but everytime I press my brake pedals the brake got stuck and the aircraft comes to a complete stop. Thereafter I have to set the parking brake and release it again to get out of this situation and continue taxi. Doesn't matter if I press the left, right or both brakes. Any ideas how to solve this issue? thanking you in advance Marc
