Newegg (http://www.newegg.com) is offering for a limited time (ends 2/12) the EVGA 012-p3-2066-KR GeForce 560Ti 448-core Graphics card for US $279 ($254 after $20 Manufacturers rebate) plus free shipping in some areas, and a coupon for a free copy of the Batman Arkham City Game. This deal is nearly matched by Amazon (without the time limitation or the free game) for those interested, but too late to catch the better deal. Note: The thing to remember here is that even though these cards say they are of the 560 series, that is kind of a lie, as all the circuitry is of the 570/580 series. The best way to think of them are as very slightly (about 8%) underclocked 570's…

Hello, today I wanted to buy and download your product "Mega Airport Munich" for Flight Simulator X. But the thing is that the processor requirement is a 3.0GHz processor, but I have a 2.7GHz Duel core AMD Athlon II X2 215 processor. And from what I have heard duel cores are more powerful and faster than a single core, so will my processor will be able to run it? Many thanks, Badboi787.

  4. I have been advising people so often about hardware for FSX and other sims it seems logical that when I buy a new one myself I discuss that. It also serves very weel to enlighten my idea that there is no such thing as a 'fast' computer. There is only a fast or slow computer for a certain use. NEWEGG (http://www.newegg.com) is offering the MSI Nvidia 560Ti 1280mb 448-Core edition For $309 US dollars. With promo code HARDOCPX2X1D (ends 2/7) they are offering an additional $20 off, and beyond that, there is a manufacturers rebate coupon for an additional $30 US $259 is not a bad price for the 448-core version of this card! Overclocked, you are talking nearly GTX 580 performance levels at about half the price. Review

Yes I know, there are many questions about what graphiccard for FSX. But I found no answer on how important is the size of the memory. Is there an advantage running a card with 1 GB versus 512 MB? And if so, why? Rest of the system: win7 64bit, 8GB RAM Intel Quadcore with 3 GHz and a lot of (frame)challenging addons.

Hello everyone, This is a lot of text, but please, bear with me. I am planning on buying a new pc for FSX. With 'buying a new pc' I mean: buying the components and assemble it myself. I found out that this is way cheaper than buying a complete system. I have seen several systems for say over € 2000 euros which I could get for, say € 1200. But I am drifting off-topic now... The system I currently have is based on the Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.8 GHz. I am already in the posession of FSX for quite some time (once got it as a present) and I can use it, but only for some flying around in light aircraft. As soon as I try to fly more complex airliners (like the Fokker and…

  9. Hi fellow Flight simmers! and Aerosoft! I need help to pick a new PC for FSX to run it at 50fps+ even with all the sliders full and traffic full. Here is a link to my youtube video that explians this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62tkTZWt ... ature=plcp

Hi there, I recently ran into a weird problem with my FSX rig. I will try to be as precise as possible so please bear with me. After I am done flying in FSX I close the programs used (FSX & REX) and try to shut down my computer. It proceeds through to the shutting down screen and gets stuck. After a while Windows restarts with this: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1031 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 9f BCP1: 0000000000000004 BCP2: 0000000000000258 BCP3: 0000000000000000 BCP4: FFFFF80000B9C510 OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Prod…

I'am thinking of buying an HDD or SSD just dedicated to FSX. My question is : would it be possible to copy the FSX main file from my actual HDD to a new HDD or SSD, or make an image of it to easily transfer FSX, without having to install it all again? Thanks for your help ! (question inspired by Chris-327 http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php/topic/47854-ssds/)

  12. Dear all, I will be buying myself a new computer in the very near future, and simultaniously, I will (finally) be switching to another simulator. FS2004 gave me years of fun, but because my previous system was not that high-end, I was not able change to FSX any earlier. The system that I am going to buy consists out of the following: Intel I7 2600K ATi Radeon HD 6850 ASUS P8Z68 Motherboard Corsair 800W Power supply 8GB Internal memory DDR3 Win. 7 64 bits Anyway, I could use a piece of advice on my new simulator. Which one should I install: FSX or X-plane 10? I already have quite a lot of FS2004 add-ons which will also be compatible with FSX, which will sa…

I'm getting a new computer in few weeks Intel I5 2500@3.3 4gb 1333 RAM GT210 (huge bottleneck, I know, will be replaced with HD6850 in few months) Regular HDD (no SSD) Whats your estimated FPS in heavy aerosoft sceneries and PMDG's NGX73? Thanks!

  16. Started by vortex95,

Howdy all. I know this topic has been brought up hundreds of times and i've read through them all but none of them fit my fancy. As of now, FSX on my rig gets around 35fps while flying around Friday Harbor. But when I go to JFK in the QWSIM 757 it goes down to 2fps. I average out around 12fps on a normal flight around Houston in a Cessna, all sliders down to 25% or less. Its so bad I went back to FS9 and even there, some places give me 8fps. I want to save as much money as possible and still one day be able to fly PMDG NGX around Heathrow or LAX at around 35-45fps with all sliders set to around 75%, graphics, traffic, everything. I also want to be able to run YouTube and …

  17. We have seen that after Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is installed some of our product can be seen as not activated. Bit of surprise as we did not see any of these problems with the beta's of Service Pack 1. But we got the fix ready, just a 6 mouse clicks and all is solved. Start the launcher. Select 'Check for Launcher-Updates. You will see there is an update available (not on mine but ignore that) so download it.... .... and start the update. This will close the launcher and start the installer. Now check if any of the products needs activation.... ....if so, just click one more time. All done. Of course the activation counts have all been re…

Yes, frames frames frames. I like frames. You can obviously use a Radeon HD4650, or a Radeon X800 GTO. This is what I fly (yet in saturday evening party livery): Btw, you better don't ask me how long it took me to achieve a performance like this.

  19. Would there be much difference in upgrading the 8800GS card I have to the GT 430? The GS has only 376MB whereas the GT has 1GB. Any comments would be appreciated. Like, "upgrade" means I would get a big difference in perfromance. "Maybe" means maybe just a couple of FPS difference. Would using the 3GB patch (for XP 32 bit) and installing another 2GB into my system help? I don't want to mess with a system that performs just fine, but obviously I would never use the PMDG NGX on this system. The PMDG 747X I might be able to if I upgraded the parts..... Just wondering. EDIT I meant Geforce 8800GS. Sorry for any confusion. Daniel

Hey, I guess I need some help. I would like to change some hardware to have a better performance in fsx... My system in use atm is: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 2.67 GHz 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series Windows 7 What should I replace first? Does it bring something to use a 2nd graphics card? I read that it's better to use a complete new one... Isn't my CPU the worst thing about my computer? Thank you for your help!!!

  21. Discrete Sound Cards seems to have been forgotten around 2005 but this week I remembered why they were a good idea. I got a Asus Xonar_DG from a friend who received one to review. As he has the far more expensive brother of this card he swapped it with me for a beer. Not to be outdone by serious testers I listened serious to my system. Some music, some games (Battlefield 3 has the best sound I ever heard), some sims (they really all sound very crappy btw). Then I inserted the new card, downloaded a small driver and listened again. And I am 101% sure I could hear the difference. Music sounded less sharp, less angular, Battlefield 3 really sounded a lot better, far bett…

Hello guys, well, I'm asking why in my computer the FPS sometimes go from 4.0 to 0.0. O_O some solutions are to set the settings in medium-low, but the problem is here: why some people that have REX and FS global have very good graphics and hey haven't got problems whit FPS ??? here I give you some solutios for it, I haven't tryed yet, but I think that is the solution, hope you can fix this problem, we are all whit a lot of problems whit fsx... 25. If there is true multi-core use under XP10 (see the forum) and hopefully new FS-Flight: What about cluster computing to improve the performance of the system? I believe that many users have two or more computers available (e.g. desktop-pc and laptop). We all know that FSX does only make very limited use of multiple cores in the PC. The upcoming XP10, however, seems to be more efficient with the available recourses. It makes use of all the cores and dedicates certain tasks to different cores. Hopefully new MS-Flight will also make such improved use of the hardware! Wouldn’t it be nice to use all available rescources to run the sim? Is there a simple solution to use…
