  2. A step by step guide to getting online at Andras Field. 1. Download the TeamSpeak3 (TS3) client from from http://www.teamspeak.com 2. Install TS3 accepting all the default settings 3. Run TS3 for the first time and click next (if you have already run TS3 you can get to this screen by clicking Settings, Setup Wizard) 4. Choose a name and enter it into the text box, click next. 5. Select your push to talk button, PPT (we like push to talk as deep breathing on the radio is quite frankly scary and prevents others communicating with town/other traffic). You can choose a joystick button as I have here and click next. 6. Push and hold your chosen P…

  3. Not that anyone seem to give it any thought - but today is actually Andras Field´s 2 year birthday. So Happy Birthday Andras Field Just imagine... Two years ago we were buzzing all around in awe over this new project, and we fought for positions to rule the place. Over time Andras Field has become a quiet little outskirt, but for the ones who stubbornly keep at it, Andras Field still is a wonderful scenery, with MY name on one of the houses. I love that. And eventually Andras will finish the Italian venicestyle houses and add to the fun. Matt will bring on the second round the world challenge - with Andras Field as base, and in one year, we will celebrate the th…

Its been an epic jurney covering some of the most scenic areas of the world along with some of the most challenging approaches. A real marathon, a true test of an aviators staminar. Congratualtions to you all, its you guys that have made this what it has been. Special thanks to Ole for helping sanmitise my madness and geting the challenge off the ground, getting so much sponsorship and running it all in my absense. A big thank you goes to all our generous sponsors, with out their generosity it wouldnt have been much of a copmetition. So, the winner - drum roll please..... Andreas with an overall average of 115.80 And our two runners up Gonçalo with an …

  7. Gentlemen.... Time for the final struggle...The road back to Andras Field... This is the longest phase... 19 legs of flight, and some of them pretty long. So we need some time to finish. Phase will therefore start TODAY at 20.00z and last for 5 weeks - until Sunday December 18.th. I cannot stretch it any further, as Christmas will then be on, and I really want us to be back in Andras Field before Christmas So - start up your engines, and get your sorry a**es home. The route will go as follows... Last leg from Innstruck to Andras Field will NOT count in the competition, so ditch your preffered instructor (FSFS) in Innsbruck, and lets see if we …

  8. Alright guys. I hope you are all well rested from the struggles in phase 3, because - Phase 4 is about to start. Phase 4 consist of 12 legs of flight, and will take you from Kai Tak, via the Himalayas to VRMM - Male, in the Maldives. The flight will start on October 9. at 20.00Z and end 4 weeks later - November 6. at 20.00z I would like to point out that this is 28 days to fly 12 flights, and I will NOT tolerate any delays this time. Either you finish in time or you don´t finish at all, which would be a shame, as then only phase 5 and the chance of becomming the overall winner remains. so PLAN your time and finish on time! The route is shown here. …

  10. Hi again guys Time to announce the winners of phase 3. "Only" three winners of this phase, (Remember I´m God) Highest Flightscore: Andreas, with his great 152.79 score in his C-130 Hercules. Well done Andreas Highest Landingscore: Goncales with a 151.90 landingscore in his brand new B737 NGX. Nice AC, nice score And Best Screenshot of phase 3: Dale, with his wonderful "Indiana Jones like" DC-3 shot. (and NO I do NOT favoritize the DC-3 - its totally coincidental) Once again, you guys put me through hell, trying to decide what screenshot I like the best. There are SO many wonderful shots from odd angles, showing odd situations. Keep it up gents. …

  11. Ok Phase 2 will start June 11th at 2000UTC and run for 8 weeks to the 6th August at 2000UTC. As we have people on holiday etc at this time of year I've extended from 6 to 8 weeks. This phase has the longest leg in it at 869nm and possibly the most non tarmac/concrete runways Enjoy the planning and Luke, no starting til 2000UTC on the 11th June Phase 2 15 legs, you cannot use an individual aircraft more than 4 times in this segment. Which must be the same selection as from phase 1. Remember you may change 1 aircraft if you want to and havent done so already. 2B2 - KBUF 347 KBUF - 06C 418.4 06C - KASE 869 KASE - KBTF 252.4 KBTF - KLAS 324.8 KLAS - A3…

  12. A brief intro, this is basically a giant round the world trip that I was planning on flying, when it occured to me that it would be so much more fun if I could get a lot of people flying it at the same time - and to share our experiences and stories. Then the old grey matter went into over-drive, what if we could make it more interesting and reward people for thier achievements along the way. Well to cut a long story short. After shed loads of work between Ole and myself we have managed to devise a fool proof (it needs to be so that I can fly it lol) challenge. You do not need to own Andras Field to join in as we have a suitable atlernate for you to use. Similar length ru…

Welcome everybody to the Andras Aviation Club. A warm place for every user of the Andras Field. No need to be a plotholder - but hey its okay if you are. This idea of having a club to unite all the users was initially brought to me by Ruud Faber. Thanks Ruud for this great idea. The membercards were also designed by Ruud! As of today (July 28´th 2010 we have 58 members - and counting)and we are awaiting an online solution here in Andras Field,so we can do our first real gettogether in our upcoming clubhouse almost on the runway. (A place for the Thursday Beer and Telling of Lies - meetings) More details on that later. This place is now run by darem (AF09)…

OK - Aerosoft has, pretty much in silence, released a small program called Andras Field LIGHT. See thread HERE. This is simply the runway and layout, without anything else. Its FREE, and can be downloaded here. So if you have friends who like to fly online with you, and having Andras Field as a place to land/take off, but they don´t have the Scenery (cheapskates... but still - ) then it´s now possible. (should also get things easier with IVAO/VATSIM in the future..... (that was the general idea of the project to begin with) So grab it guys, and pass it on to your friends. Let´s make Andras Field airfield known throughout the world!

When we planned this Round The World Challenge, we looked for sponsors to get you guys some prizes to win. We got Aerosoft to donate, we got FSFlyingSchool to donate, and we got FSAddon to donate. Thanks to them all. I also talked to the great guys who created the wonderful DC-2 - the Ulver team. They have not only made a fantastic aircraft - a replica of the Great DC-2. But they have also decided that all profit from the sales goes directly to the Aviodrome Museum in the Netherlands, to support the maintenance of one of two last airworthy DC2's in the world. How about that, ladies and gentlemen. Sounds like a bunch of enthusiasts to me, how about you? If that dos…

Hey, I'll be using this topic to centralize all tips, tricks and procedures specifically concerning the glider field on Andras Field. As this is a work in progress, just as the Andras Field and it's procedures itself, this will be updated as and when required. Standard Operating Procedures: ************************** First of all, the general rules and procedures of Andras Field also apply to glider pilots! So stay updated on these as well, I will not double post them here. Second, and the most important rule of all: Use proper judgement! When in doubt, find another solution. - Landing runway 10: use a right-hand traffic pattern - Landing runway 28: use a …

Hey Guys, Ole just informed me I'll be the President of the Andras Field Glider Association! I'm very proud to hold that post at least for while. So if there's anything you need concerning the Glider field or Glider Association, feel free to post here! I won't have internet the next couple of days, but I will be flying around Andras field, and might come up with some stuff myself. I'll also be trying to write up some tips, tricks and procedures specifically for the gliders around Andras Field! greetz, Lars

As you can see there has been a update announced to bring Andras Field to version 1.20 (see here: However the version offered in the shop is still 1.17 and that is also the one I have installed here. However from that thread it appears that this update can be found somewhere, I just do not know the link... Please point me to that update which was announced nearly 8 years ago... 🙂 THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Scorpio47 P.S. And please Mathijs, give us a new version for Prepar3D 64bit

    Started by Guest Snel,

My love for FSX got rekindled since I finally found time for it again now that i'm home from work for a few weeks. I reinstalled everything I used to fly with, scenery improvements, vectors update and of course also my copy of Andras Field that I purchased nearly a decade ago. I went to check it out and to my surprise, nothing much had changed. The forum part about it seems dead and I can't find any recent articles about it. Did the love for this project somehow die or did something else happen?

May I ask: Is there any way to install Andras Field onto P3D (v3)? I take it that there's no update for this which would do it automatically? (Not a moan, just a genuine ask as I'm using P3D much more than FSX nowadays.) Keep up the good work!
