... and that means that a lot of things are simply done different. You can not jump into the An-2 and take-off if you know how perfectly how a Cessna 172 flies. For example Russian love to use pneumatics for many systems (strange because no pneumatic system ever maintains pressure and you have to 'refill' it all the time). We seen a lot of questions on the forum and in tickets that are based on misconceptions on how things work. A good friend of mine who flies airliners for a living just told me "I have the highest respect for russian planes. I just can not fly them without reading a manual. " And that's from a guy who flown CRJ's, also an aircraft with weir…

When using the airplane (in Prepar3D v4) its state becomes recorded in a set of ini files, for example documentsOctopusG_An-2_state_an2_vh-cce.ini. Strangely enough those files are written to the root of the user folder - C:\Users\[user]\ - the place not intended for writing any data files in Windows. Is it possible to move their locations somewhere else, say, within the installation folder?

Good morning, In the fall I had downloaded the AN-2 (P3D v4 version) and it was working fine in P3D v5. This weekend I had an issue with my computer and had to reinstall P3D v5, and when I downloaded the AN-2 again to reinstall it doesn't seem to work. I had set it to go to the P3Dv5 Addons folder, I did notice in the installer some of the folders were set to P3Dv4 but it doesn't allow me to change that. I'm just not sure why it worked once, but now won't? Maybe I'm missing something.

Have recently rediscovered this lovely aircraft after a long gap. Have tried mapping the an2CarbHeatLever and an2EngStopLever variables to my spare Saitek axes using FSUIPC (with scaling so the result is in the 0.0 to 1.0 range) but without success. Is it possible to do this? I have succeeded with LVar axis mapping on other aircraft.

Hello, I'm really enjoying this aircraft, but have run into a major issue. Mid flight I'm losing electric power to my systems. I've been reading the forums and seems I'm running into the same problem as others. I'll be flying along and then lose power to my radios and lights. I have the generator on, and it's showing a charge to the battery and proper voltage. But then poof no radio and no lights. I can turn off the generator and then everything comes alive again. But now I'm running strait off the battery, so that doesn't last too long. I can turn the generator back on but then the power goes out again after a few minutes. I'm running on FSX:SE. …

Hello everyone, This is something that I am very surprised has not been adressed yet, but the Attitude gauge/Artificial horizon starts locked, but when locked it goes to the center position, as if it were level. This is a problem when I start to take off! I do not know my actual pitch, and the ONLY way I can try and do it is go in third person, and Unlock it the moment the aircraft looks level. How can I fix this? I've seen in videos people have their horizon calibrated, but mine seems near impossible to do ;( Thanks guys.

Another thing I've been having is a 2% power loss when I start the engine. Sometimes 2, up to 10, and once even a full lock-up! I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I pump the primer to 0.5 kg/cm2, rotate the prop and prime the cylinders, wait until the gauge reaches 8 to engage the flywheel, have a bit of throttle, but I STILL get the engine damage! How do I stop this??

Hi! I have been scratching my head for a while now, since the Polish SP-ASR stopped starting. I cant manually crank the propeller in Service Window and it doesn't start with CTRL <E> either. Other buttons (includin draining the oil) in the window are working and there is no message of any failure. I've been reading the manual and I did'n find help in these topics. Other versions of Anjushka are working OK. SP-ASR worked well at the beginning, but lost its life in days. How can I "repair" it? There's no option to buy a new engine :)

Hello, I am sorry for opening two topics at one day . I noticed that the r.p.m. gauge shows 800 to 1000 for idle. I experienced 550 rpm in real life. Could that be changed ? And is it possible to choose between the default rpm gauge and the common "clock-like" rpm gauge (see picture below)? Thank you in advance. Best regards Antonow7

Hi, In my livery with the English panel fonts, I don't have the "start switch" below the clutch handle. Hence, this particular livery is not able to start. I have seen in videos over you tube that, in this very same livery the switch is there . In the rest of the liveries (with the Cyrillic fonts) the start switch is right there. Do I having any graphic issue or is this particular livery diferent to the others? I am running the last updated version of the aircraft. Any help? IPA

For the last several flights I have had a non functioning airspeed indicator. I made sure I have removed the pitot tube cover, confirming in external view that it goes away. I have not turned on the pitot tube heat on the ground, and turning it on once airborne does not fix the airspeed indicator. I have had previous flights where it worked as expected so I can't figure out why it no longer works. every thing is marked good on the shift-2 condition page. It has continued to do this through a couple of simulator/ computer restarts I am using FSX steam

Hello! I have been experiencing a problem for a long time. Sometimes when I setup a flight and I am at last ready to release the parking brake to start rolling, the brake is still on. Nothing will help it except changing aircraft to a non an-2. Change back and the problem persists. The only way to make it dissappear is to restart FSX. When this problem occurs, the brakepressure indicator shows zero pressure and the normal braking features of this aircraft seem to still work as normal. Except it is being overwritten by something else (I see the red BRAKE symbol at the bottom left corner). Brake disarm-switch does not help. …

Gentlemen: I appear to be struggling to set the flight deck clock in the AN-2 correctly. When adjusting the time, the minute hand sweeps 2 revolutions for each single revolution of the hour hand (i.e. 120 minutes per hour) and, once set and running, loses approximately 6 minutes for every game hour (the clock will have advanced approximately 54 minutes after 60 minutes of game time [from the P3d "World time and date"] has elapsed). Is there something I am doing wrong and/or any way to adjust this to accurate reflect Zulu time and proper time progression? Cheers, Jason Run on P3d v4.5, Win10.

Hi all AN2 Lovers I hear 2 Flapsounds. As soon I start running the Flaps there is an nice smooth Sound whichone sounds plausible for me. About a half second later there comes a very loud Sound and overlayes the first Sound. This second Sound is exactly the same as the original Flapsound was in FS 98. I dont know the AN2 from real Life but I not really beleave its like this in real Life. Question 1: Is this in real Life so and have other Simemrs this also on there Simulators? (I use P3Dv4.4) Question 2: If only I have this strange Sound, how can I get it away? Sincerelly Zimmi
