F-14 Tomcat

Hello! My friend and I just bought your amazing F-14X and love it! Is the shared aircraft mechnic working? I aks because we were trying to no avail lastnight to share one plane(him pilot, me RIO) and it keeps saying the aircraft is nolonger shared followed by a screen that goes by too quickly for us to read, but its seems from what I can catch that its missing the same files for the cockpit? Any insight into this would be very welcome!

Just starting to FAM with this bird… I have seen Video online for ACLS APCHs where the HSI appears to be in TACAN mode and not the ILS mode… i.e. it appears that on a ACLS APCH you have DME and LOC on the HSI and the VDI has the ILS needles… kind of what I expect to see on a traditional ILS… ** I haven’t tried this myself yet… just watching YouTube videos… I wanted to try to figure out normal ILS let downs to an airport before trying my hand around the boat. But when you shoot an approach to a land base and enter the ILS FRQ and select the HSI mode for ILS there is nothing there except a compass rose and no LOC/DME… thank GOD I can hit “H” to get a B-Model Sparrow…

I have the Tomcat installed and beside the "B" model control issue (which I have to turn Pitch and Roll SAS off to fly "B" models)... The missions arent showing up when I go to load them... should they have auto installed or somethig I have to do from the AEROSOFT folder in FSX?

Anyone else seeing the F-1A block 110 or B models Roll issues after take off? On the ground it seems to working fine (that is there is a visible difference in the spoilers with ROLL SAS on/off) and then after takeoff roll is locked up and as the bird picks up speed it usually enters an left or right hard roll as the wings retract... once the roll SAS is turned off you at least have roll control authority... "A" model doesn’t have this issue. Seems that throttle movement does effect roll at some point after TO/WOW... I saw this topic discussed in another thread that indicated it was answered… while the ROLL SAS off allows for ROLL control… it doesn’t seem that it …

I'm trying to do a cat launch of the F-14 in Prepar3d. I line up and press water rudder and the aircraft crouches down. 95% of the time, when I then press shift-I for take-off assist, the aircraft pitches up to the sky and crashes. Any idea what might be wrong? I've got wings forward and flaps down. There don't seem to be any other steps in the documentation. Thanks.

Good Evening Aerosoft, During the developmental stages I thought I read that this aircraft was shareable. My buddy and I tried to share it last night and FSX kept saying the aircraft is no longer shareable at the loading screen. Can this be addressed?

When will a patch come out allowing a RIO and Pilot in the same a/c?

Does anyone have any idea on how to use the supplied lua file with LINDA? I have tried adding function names to the file but it does not seem to work. Thanks -Wingmate

Not sure if this is a bug or what? But on the ground every time I use slew to move the aircraft immediately after I turn off the slew mode the thrust levers move to about 80% and stick there can't increase or decrease them... The test mode switch is off and stored down the auto-throttle is off; what would I be missing? Usually when this happens I just pull the fire handles and start over again...

Hello I have problem with FLIR in P3D v2. Immediately after hitting SHIFT+7 (Flir) i get crash (g3d.dll) and exit to Windows. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi everybody. I'm a newbee on the F14 and I have a question for you. To test the commands, I try to pilot the bird with the keyboard ; everything seems fine on the ground but when in the air, the aileron and rudder commands are stuck, the elevator works fine. The stick moves one the pitch axis but not in the bank axis when pressing the keyboard command. Is there something to do about it ? Thanks you. YAC59

Good day, I just purchased the F-14 & am unable to install. I click on the icon & I get the Windows spinning wheel for about 10 sec & then it stops & goes no further. I have downloaded the product twice both complete downloads with no errors. I am also running as administrator & tried right clicking & selecting "run as administrator" all with the same results. I have installed dozens of payware titles on this rig & have never had this problem so am frankly at a loss. Any suggestions on how to get this to work would be most appreciated.

hi wath is water rudder ( shift+w) and wath it is for ? On the carrier desk I switch but notting happened ?

F-14 for P3D 2.5 I'm continuing to have problems in the AutoPilot management. All worked fine in FSX. Since I switched to P3D the AP functions doesn't work anymore. Just a doubt; maybe that my troubles are due to the fact that I haven't yet installed VRS's TacPack, while I had it in FSX? Couriously, a friend of mine is facing my very same behavior. As soon as I angage the AP, Altitude and Navigation (Engage, Shift+G), ir steers to the left and pitch to earth. Even this guy didn't install anymore the TacPack. So I'm not sure if this is a bug or what exactly...? But I can't seem to adjust the first two digits of the TACAN frequency from the cockpit... I believe I am clicking in the correct area for the "outer ring" of the TACAN dial per page 23 vol 5 of the manual but I am getting no result and am unable to change the digits... I can change the last digit just fine for what that's worth but for doing carrier ops and AI chasing this doesn't appear to do much good when the lowest I can go is 80 and I'm needing the 58x... This wasn't an issue for me in v 1.0 but appeared to pop up when I upgraded to v 1.10 / 1.11... Any ideas? Thanks

I've noticed that this was an issue for some people elsewhere and I don't know if it has been entirely resolved for them. I have acceleration and all is well at first. I start up, follow lists closely, line up on starboard cat in Aden because the other doesn't seem to work for me. Nevertheless, once there all works as expected. Once lined up cat assist puts me in place and I go to full afterburner, flaps down etc. At this point I cant seem to find cat release as Shift and Spacebar doesn't work, but in the bottom left of screen I am told that I'm to use launch assist again, so I do,. Hi, Since P3dv2.5 and Hotfix I have expirienced at night that there is no groundilumination with taxilights on, now I´m not sure if that issue was before v2.5. I think before it was ok, anyway that makes taxiing at night impossible on airports! Anybody with the same problem? regards

Hi I have another questions I have P3D 2.5 and F-14x+Tacpack 1) In the main menu' settings/Realism I have to put in crashes/demage: ignore crashes and demage or detect... when I set detect I have an impact on the run way 2) I have already read this for FSX but can anyone explain me step by step how create a new flight on the Kittyhawk desk for takeoff ? Will we ever see this patched? I love this aircraft and community but the lack of response from the developer is disappointing. A mere " we are working on it" would suffice! After many Aerosoft products bought and enjoyed, I don't recall a time when I was just in awe of the lack of support. I hope I am wrong about this but to remain silent any longer is unfair to myself! Hi all, Firstly, yes I've tried searching throttle settings etc, but couldn't find any info on this. But does the F-14 support the use of dual throttle settings, as in, separate throttles for Engine 1 and Engine 2? I've set it up but it doesn't appear to be working, but when using the addition throttle that's configured as the generic throttle, it does work. Thanks, Dorien
