F-14 Tomcat

I read on here that you need to make sure to install the correct model for the simulator you are using! I installed the FSX Gold + Accelleration version and the rudder isnt working on the aircraft so I cant steer while I am on the ground, but somehow I manage to fly without a rudder function! What needs to be done next, I thought it might be an issue that I dont use a seperate rudder part with my system, i just use a Saitek X52Pro system which has the rudder function on the Yoke and I recently updated the drivers and software on that for windows 10!

Hey guys, first off kudos on such a great plane. I have a TM Warthog hotas and I am trying to set up the controls to match the real f-14 hotas using FSUIPC and the provides Lua file. Going by the controls manual I got some of the programing done such as the wing sweep rocker, weapon select, NWS and AP disengage. I can't find a function in the lua for a lot of the other hotas controls though such as the speedbrake, flaps, pilot lock on for the throttle and the 2 thumb switches on the stick. Ones a button and ones a rotary I think. I did manage to map the speed brakes to the fsx spoiler function which works but the button in the VC doesn't move. Same …

Any ideas as to why the Tomcat will not roll after take off ?, flaps and rudders work fine on runway, surely this is a bug ??, if so come on update !

ME and my friend bought this f14 AND tacpac after seeing In the features that you can be in the RIO seat and the pilot seat. How ever when we try to fly together in the same plane it always kicks him out.... How can we both share the aircraft?

Been really loving flying this airplane. I've been getting reacquainted with the F-14 and calibrating controls while doing some VFR work and cross counties on the PilotEdge network. Everything seems to work like the real jet (according to distant memories and NATOPS) or at least as advertised in any limitations. AP modes all work as advertised. I'm flying legacy FSX with Acceleration. (Gear always indicate unsafe when UP but I mentioned that in another post.) I am having a little lateral control issues on speed in the landing configuration. Unfortunately, I do not have rudder pedals so I'm using FSX Autorudder. Has anyone found the "best" FSUIPC Aileron calibration …

LOVE this add on! I'm a former F-14A pilot and this has been a real trip. I haven't done exhaustive testing, but I do notice that the HUS display (flying the B with the Sparrow Hawk HUD) disappears in the clouds (IMC). Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Bruce

I've read through the manuals but it's not clear to me how to set the IFF transponder code for flying on an ATC network. Do I pop up the RIO right side panel? The IFF control panel is grayed out in the manual. Do I have to add a separate pop up transponder gauge? Thanks, Bruce EDIT: Never mind, sorry. Hi Aerosoft, I purchased the F-14 at the Flight Sim show last weekend and have it installed in Prepar3d, wanted to make sure I had all the updates if any installed but it seems there is none on the update site. Is there a way of finding out what version of the Tomcat is installed?

Hi, I just wanted to know how accurate the simulation is versus the real jet in terms of performance numbers. Is the stores drag accounted for the different stores configurations available in the sim?. I have not found any performance chart (Fuel Flows, ranges, maximum mach vs altitude, energy diagrams, etc...) included in the product documentation, but accurate A/C performance is mentioned as a main feature. Aside of the handling qualities behaviour (apparently close to the real aircraft), I would like to know how close this aircraft is in the other 50% part that conforms the flight model: its performance numbers. Hi, I have ver 1.10 installed on FSX with Acceleration (no SP2, & no Steam or P3D on the PC), I have a brand new high end PC, win 8.1. I can't get enough end speed to fly after cat launch. I'm starting up loading the mission for F14A San Diego. I have successfully prepped and taxied to the cat (both port bow and port waist cats, I go through the PM checklist and using CTRL-W to kneel and SHIFT-I for Take Off Assist and SHIFT-SPACEBAR for launch all seems to work fine but no matter what I do it doesn't have enough end speed to fly. Hello Guys, i have some problems with tail wheel steering. when i press the tail wheel lock-button (shift-G) once, to unlock the front gear, nothing happened. i must press this button six or seven times, then the gear unlocks, but the front gear only turns to the left. so i circle and circle and circle on one point. it's for me impossible to roll right away. it'S possible to delete the wheel steering from the aircraft (maybe in aircraft.cfg)? so i can steer normaly. regards Josh

Hey, i have an issue on my F-14. The thing is, after almost 2 minutes of flying it starts to roll uncontrolled and it starts to zoom in and out without me doing anything! This happens almost every flight and its really annoying if youre trying to intercept a TU-95. I havent tried it in the F-14A yet because I dont like the -A variant. Sometimes it even starts to pan my view up and holds it there. I dont know what this is and the addon is buyed via Aerosoft store! I really hope you can give me a solution for this. Hello Guys, after the take-off it's impossible for me to bank left or right with the f-14. the f-14 fly straight away and on the outside view i see no rudder action, when i press my joystick to the left or right. must i unlock the rudder or something like that? i find nothing like that in the pre-start check list. it would be nice someone can help thanks regards Josh

G'day, I am using the F-14X with Prepar3d and FSUIPC. I have clean installed P3D with only the F-14X, PMDG 737 and ORBX Australia Scenery. In flight I am experiencing constant instability in the roll and yaw axis (the yaw axis is possibly a result of the roll axis. The aircraft continually rocks back and forth, eventually rolling to one side or another. I have tried the suggestions on this forum, to disable the AFCS, to re-install, to check FSUIPC calibration and settings. This problem does not exist with any other aircraft, stock or PMDG. Also, the IFLOLS lights remain 'in place' when the aircraft carrier moves, this results in the lights being 'left behind' in a static …

Hi, after having installed TacPack and disabled Migration Tool, I hoped AP could work properly, but to no avail. I tried to re-download, re-install the plane but, as soon as I engage the AP the plane doesn't behave as it should be expected. Worst, it dives and becomes uncontrollable. This is a issue I already ponted out, but I was afraid it could be derived from the TacPaCK AND mIGRATION tOOL; UNFORTUNATELY IT'S NOT SO. Even if I like to fly a jet plane freely, sometimes at the least th Altitude Hold could be uaseful, in the long distances. Thanks for any help, Fulvio

hello, maybe somebody already wrote about it, but when i lower full flpas for landing or trapping i experience a quite heavy roll left and right which is annoyng....sort of lateral instability i guess.......any solution to that? thanks. david

Hey, just a short question: Did you already coded a TACAN Frequency for the USS Enterprise from TeamSDB? Because I want to fly the AI Missions from the Enterprise via AICarriers and Manual says I have to have the TACAN Frequenz of the Carrier dialed in. So is there anyone who can explain me how to fly missions from the Big E? I mean the Aerosot Missions with the TU-95 and SU-27´s and so on. MFG David

Woogey told me some of his and my repaints become corrupted in the Aerosoft library so I have tested all my uploaded paints and noticed there are 3 paints with corrupted zip. So I tried to re upload two time a file , but after successful upload and save the file it become corrupted again I think there are many more of other painters also have same problem it will be very sad to lost so many paints here are the corrupted files of my paints

I have been able to change around air wings for other carriers by creating and substituting the appropriate textures, but with Kitty Hawk- which is marvelous, by the way, i can view the "new" Air Wing in MCX, but in the sim itself, the air wing reverts to the original Kitty Hawk textures. Is there a way to do this that i am obvously missing? Here are the textures that i have modified to represent different Air Wing: F14_1_T, F14_2_T, A7_1_T, A7_2_T, Airwing_1_T, Airwing_2_T, Seaking_T, Viking_T, and the various spec, LM and Hangar versions as well. Forgive me if I've missed a topic with a fix in it. I've tried searching as a non-member for the past 3 days and so far have only come up with solutions related to P3D and reinstalling simconnect. My problem is exactly like the issues encounted where immediately after takeoff, roll command is basically completely lost. My only option is due disable the roll AFCS switch. It seems to be related to throttle position. I'm using a Saitek X52 throttle quadrant and associated joystick.
