F-14 Tomcat

Hi, at first I have to say: What a great Add on! I'm very much enjoying the F 14 X, feels like a whole new sim and is very immersive! But being on my training rides off the Kitty Hawk I occasionally encounter a loss of the avionics and GPS. It is not that an Instrument goes blank all of a sudden. Actually I only find out if I tune in a VOR via the TACAN receiver or have the GPS screen popping up (if I'm totally lost.. ahem) The Navigation Screen on the HSD would not catch a direction to VOR nor would show a distance if it's a VOR/DME. Hello, I still seem to have problems with the FLOLS and the deck lighting. They are okay the first minutes into a flight but they seem to disappear after a while. I have lost all lights on deck and FLOLS when on approach with the carrier passing left to right in HUD. The light on top of the island goes first, then the deck lighting and then FLOLS. Any ideas? I find the lights a great aid in lining up for landing. Best Dag

Hi guys. I loaded a fresh flight from NAS Pensacola this evening. Set up the sim "cold and dark" from the configuration panel (Shift-2) and loaded fuel as usual. During preflight, I turned on my oxygen (it's the last item on my checklist) and took off. Climbing through 14,000 I got the familiar "head roll to top, bank over and drop" situation I used to get before I knew I had to turn on the oxy switch. I managed to recover the plane at 7,000'... Immediately looked at the oxy switch and it was, indeed, on. I then looked at the Liquid Oxygen gauge and noticed it read zero. Honestly, I never looked at the thing before I departed but I assume it was empty t…

I've found a minor texture error in the right panel, the switch is named Hook Compass instead of Bypass. Bye.

Is the WCS XMIT switch in the RIO pit supposed to work? For me at least it doesnt. The radar scan bar keeps moving (which to me means the radar is still transmitting) regardless of its position. However, on a recent flight I somehow managed to turn the radar off (i.e. radar scan bar frozen). Again, using the WCS XMIT switch didnt change anything. Is there even a way to turn the radar on/off I dont know of? Forgive my ignorince or if anyone has already answered that.

First off this is an amazing aircraft a big thank you to the developers, now to my issues i have FSX gold plus acc i also purchased tac pac, i believe all are installed properly, i have read all the manuals, more then once, I go to the F14 tab and request a target aircraft either a tanker or other and exiting the menu I cannot for the life of me FIND the aircraft. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong (in the tac-pac menu spawning a tanker I can find it but can't figure how to refuel it but thats another issue ) Thanks again in advance Dave Orr

First, when I load the training mission, 8Nm is a little bit short. The jet is not really configured for landing (no flaps, parking brake on, full fuel, hook up, not the proper hud & VDI &HSD display...), I guess you can't do much about that, but starting at 10Nm would be better. It is so hard to get aligned to engage ACLS that it is easier to do it manually. But when I succeed it, everything is right up to short final. At the last moment the glide slope needle drop down, auto throttle go to idle and the jet stall short of the deck... What is wrong with what I do ? Hi, I have purchased and installed the p3d version of the new F-14. all seems finer, however, my warthog seems to randomly not show up in the controls section. I was wondering if I needed to buy and install FSUIPC to add any functionality or better performance. Also,. does anyone have a profile yet for use with the F-14?. Is there anything I should know about getting the controller set up properly within P3d? Thanks!

Hi all, Congratulations on this wonderful bird. I have only one question: is it possible with the F14 X is an ILS approach to make a civilian airport? I have no ILS needles. When approaching the Kitty Hawk they are there. My Steer Mode I have set to AWL / PCD and my VDI and HUD mode on ILS. The ILS frequency with the radio panel (Shift 6) set. But no ILS needles. Normal VOR navigation works well. regards Ralf

Wings can be over swept during flight is this correct, I believe it's only For ground/storage use.

I have fitted a rotary switch for the master test switch but it will not travel to STICK SW also emerg gen on/off not working and FSX key command for panel lights not working. Small issues but still the best FSX aircraft available.

I notice there's no click-to-cuttoff on the throttles for the F-14. Is there a way to program a throttle cutoff?

From the load Flight i choose a carrier option and when it loads of course the simulation is in pause mode i noticed the aircraft wheels are half embedded in the deck when i release pause the aircraft jumps back up but everytime i switch views the air craft bounces up and down i tried the carrier take off everything went well execpt for my bouncing aircraft any ideas what's causing this? Hello aviators. As the title says, I can change the TACAN numbers without problems, but when fliping the X/Y switch I cant get neither letter. When is in X the frequency tool tip says 112.000 XY for example, and when switched to Y it simply says 112.000. Tried to tune the frequency in the radio stack Shift 6 but none of the buttons/click areas are working. any experience before with this? thanks!!!

Hello All. Discovering the beast, I can't find one priority items for Night carrier Ops : the Exterior Lights Master Switch, or Pinky Switch, on the port side of the Throttles. Please don't tell me it is not implemented !!! Anyway, thank you Aerosoft for your work here. Hello, Loaded the F-14A Night trainning mission off the coast of San Diego, all was going well till about 5 minutes after Take Off when the Kitty hawk lights went out. Just want to know if this Is a bug or planned part of the mission ? Cheers

Hi folks. I am in the process of making a series of 4 YouTube videos covering looking at the F-14X. I am finding the aircraft a hugely challenging,interesting and satisfying addition to the FSX/P3D stable and so decided to make some videos exploring the static modelling, aerodynamic modelling and flight characteristics and handling. Hello, i would like to find a simulator for carrier landings and take-off, combat missions but not to complicated and completely compatible with windows 8 (i bought Abbacus flight deck it does not work and Abbacus don't reimburs they credit you but no support to have it working. Is F-14x the one i am looking for based on your experience? I have Flight simulator X where i play carrier landings but it is on windows 8 sound i vanishing now en then with some others difects. At first when using the F-14 upon landing I would lose connection to the rudder and nosewheel steering. Now when I first load the aircraft I lose all connection to my flight controller. I have installed the legacy msi simconnect files. The default aircraft work fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Stephen Decatur

Emerg generator on/off lua 166 & 167 does work for me

Earlier I didn't noticed this problem (before the patch it was ok), but now my Tomcats nose wheel don't go back to center after a steering movement, so the Tomcats can't go straight forward, only to left or right - so I've to steer it all the time: taxiing, take off and landing. It's not funny, you can belive me. All the other planes are ok, so only the Tomcats are affected. What can be wrong?
