My friends, Most people don't have connection issues with Connected Flight Deck, but for those who do the Guides have proven to quickly solve 95% of all CFD connection issues - but only for those who read the Guides completely and apply the recommended settings. Skipping through the guides or skip settings and you're bound to have more problems that will take a lot longer to resolve than if you went through the guide to begin with. The guides below were written after over 10 years experience with Shared Cockpit networking. We've taken the time to write these guides so that customers can get answers faster than posting in the CFD forum, and certai…

Guys, I've spent a LOT of time with many different people working out the best way for a Pilot and Copilot to see (as much as possible, and sometimes its EXACT) the same weather. From my other posts you know that the two CFD users should use the same weather program and settings, and that's enough for the affects of weather on the aircraft. But to see the same weather (or almost the same weather) you also have to use the same textures. Many people today use REX4 textures, and there is something important when it comes to using these textures. One terrific thing about REX / REX4 is that one can save weather themes and share …

As you may know, both parties in a CFD flight should use the same livery. Often people have different liveries installed, and instead of one person searching for the same livery as the other already has installed, the person with the livery that will be used can simply open the Livery Manager, Backup the livery (which creates a Zip installation file) and then send that livery to the other person (via Dropbox or similar service). This not only makes things easier, but much faster as well! Happy CFD Flights!

All, A few people have been having problems with Connected Flight Deck due to different weather settings and different FTX Vector Airport Elevation Altitudes, so we created a short guide to help with this. You can download the Guide HERE. I've also pinned this to the top of the CFD forums. As always, I hope this helps to make your CFD flights more enjoyable.

Gents, we are getting a lot of support regarding connection issues via Hamachi. And to be perfectly honest, we should not do those. See our Connected Flight Deck depends on a IP connection between two machines and when that is not there, we can't connect the two Airbusses. And in those cases that has NOTHING to do with our software but with the connection. Now it is real easy to see where the problem is. In Hamachi you can ping the other user: If that ping does not work, the issue is one of the connection and we are simply not the right party to discuss this with. Hamachi is a big player and there are hundreds of websites that offer guides etc. And just about…

For all those of you who do not like opening a PDF each time you have to run a checklist I've created a checklist on the table in the virtual cockpit. It's made in the style used by many major carriers here in Europe and equals the one in the Vol.9 Connected Flight Deck manual (which I hope you have read to date ): Unfortunatly, as the size of the checklist there is fixed and can't be changed, I had to cut two checklists off, so I descided to remove the After Landing and the Securing checklist from the table. You can find it here: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/files/file/3430-connected-flight-deck-table-checklist/ I hope you like it!

As CFD is experimental, it's a precursor of our A330 development. As testing of something like this is incredibly complex we decided to release what we got now (it actually is pretty stable and very cool) but there are limitations such as: Both Flights must start with the same panel state (doors, lights AND CORTE if you want to use it etc). (Use Ready for Taxi since door synchronization is buggy). No dual FMGS, First Officer will have to use 2D Panel or go to Captain FMGS. FMGS NavData MUST be the same. (Cycle and Provider) FMGS Scratch Pad desync is possible. As Keyboard Input is not synchronized, use that to clear unwanted scratchpad characters. Confirm FPLN changes on…

Guide by Dave from OVPA. Has lots of good information and tips for the power users. http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/94410-shared-cockpit-security-guide/ EDIT: Note that you have to forward 2 consecutive UDP ports. The default is 6881 (in SharedConfig.cfg) and 6881+1.

Diagnosing of Connection Issues, two possible scenarios: 1. Slave get CONNECTION ERROR. It means there is no possible connection between you two. Check your firewall (anti-virus tends to come with firewall these days). There is no other way to solve this then to resolve your connectivity. To double check its a connectivity issue, http://packetsender.com/#Download Set the listener of PacketSender to 6881 for both of you and try sending UDP Packets to each other. Confirm you both are receiving it. After, check the second port as well 6882. If two way connection is successful, then connectivity is not the issue here. If so, then make sure you both uninstall completely …

Gentlemen, Introduction This is a warning to all using VPN that connecting via Hamachi or any VPN security can bring a security risk to your computer. Hamachi essentially tunnels a direct connection path to your computer bypassing NAT firewalls and other security layers. Why is that a danger? There is a possibility that either computers (you or the person you are connecting to) have a undetected malware or rootkit. Such malware/rookit with the firewall layer missing can potentially spread across without your knowledge. What other alternatives do I have? Currently, the only alternative that is present is to use Port Forwarding. Using Port forwarding opens up a "hole…

Hello to everyone, Me and a friend of mine are really having trouble to activate the "sharing cockpit" function in the Airbus a320 wich came out for steam last week. We used "Hamachi" and did the same steps as in many tutorials. The problem is: We are able to ping each other and we did entered our "Ipv4-IP" into the "Airbus Configurator" but then after in the Cockpit when we enable the "Connected Flight Deck" the Plane tells us that we are "Not Connected". We have also deactivated our Windows firewall. I would really appreciate if someone has an idea of that and contact me or can just tell me where the problem is. Regards,

Hi guys, my friend was helping me out trying to install p3d v5. After this process and fiddling with folders, when I try to operate the A320 on fsx, its no longer working properly like before. the nav data is empty and the joy stick wont operate the throttles. I can't figure out how to fix this. Please help. It seems to have something to do with the aerosoft airbus configurator, when i try to open it up it comes up with this message File shared config.cfg not found in C:/users/akarim/Documents/Aerosoft/Airbus/

Hello, i know this is a recurrent topic and we were always asked to refer to the guide but hear me out for this one. So we were using hamachi and we followed the normal steps to connect our aircrafts and evrything is working connection okay and buttons displays are all synchronised, but when the master moves the slave doesn't even though he can see and here the engines and all tge animations. If we switch roles the new master get teleported to the old masters place and and vice versa the new slave go back to the gate. As indicated it might jave been a haamchi problem, so we tried being on the same network in rela life without hamachi so by LAN and we also teied …

Hi, I attempted to connect the CFD with reference to the manual, but I could not connect with my friend. Is CFD function currently available? If available, my operation below correct? 1.Open CFD with MCDU 2 and click the CONNECT button. (Indicated as "CONNECTED") 2.Set SESSION ID to 23 3.Execute Create Session. (But there is no response) I recognize it as follows, but is it correct? In this version of CFD, neither the port release nor the IP address setting of the router is necessary for server connection. Just to be sure, I will quote manual articles in original text. -Quote - This is another special feature almost no oth…
