Aerosoft RadioStack X

Recommended Posts

At the Flight Simulator conference last weekend we showed a small iPad application that is in development at this moment. We have not yet decided on the name btw. When connected (via wifi) to your flight simulator PC the application will show the standard radio stack of FSX (two com radios, two nav radios, one ADF radio and the transponder), and will allow you to set radio's on your iPad.

We expect this application to be available via the Apple iTune store somewhere in the next weeks and will inform you when we got more information.

Good idea.

Will this be for iPod/iPhone too?

And do you plan to make more apps like this? For example I'd like to have an Autopilot.

iPhone is not easy as it is so much smaller but we'll sure look at it. And yes, we are thinking about more things like AP's etc.

Thats really awesome. How about for those of us with Android tablet devices?

No dedicated plans for that right now, but who knows.

I'll have to "borrow" my bother-in-laws Ipad

You should make it compatible with 8.33 radio spacing. will it be for FS9 aswell?

For now it will remain an FSX development as it uses some core technology of the Airbus X.

Great to see something like this for FS-X.

I hope there will be more devices in the future. The idea isn't new. In X-Plane I use the EFIS app (http://www.x-plane.com/pg_EFIS_App_for_iPad.html). If you buy 2 iPads and EFIS app you get an easy small aircraft glass cockpit. X-Plane also has AirTrack which will give you a MCP, PFD and a FMC. Maybe Aerosoft can help develop a FS-X interface for AirTrack their app will give you an airliner glass cockpit on the iPad (http://air.ipobjects.com/products/airtrack).

It looks like iPads will be great for SimPitt builders. Its a lot cheaper than buying all those purpose build instruments and the iPad has many other uses!

That is nice ! Will you port this idea to other instruments like the autopilot or withnot a GPS or FMS ?

That looks fanatstic!!

Yet another +1 for Android tablet.

Do you intend to make anything like this?

http://icub.aero/?cat=14

Would be great to see some instruments software with working gauges as well as the radio stack.

Would love to make a simpit designed around an android/ipad tablet running this sort of software.

I was wondering when this sort of thing would be done for flight sim. Trust Aerosoft to be the first!

Well done guys!

Would there be any chance of seeing this for Windows based touchscreens? I have an acer1825PTZ which has a great screen for this sort of thing. Not sure what the market would be though. You've obviously picked the right device for market share and I think this idea could be expanded. Imagine a Garmin 530 on a tablet for FXS :)

Staff,

Very innovative of you all to do this... :clapping_s:

Do you have plans to do more apps like this; say for your production aircraft 2D panels or certain applications/gauges (like FSKeeper, etc.)?

Imagine a Garmin 530 on a tablet for FXS.. absolutely..!

Yes, I would also support such a tool. :)
