SeaRey Elite

All questions, issues and discussions regarding the SeaRey Elite can take place here!

  1. I'm trying to place a Searey as static scenery, but it sinks into the ground as if it's in the water. I can't seem to adjust anything in the SDK to raise it to the proper position. Any help appreciated!

Hi everyone, new buyer of the SeaRey Advanced, and I have some questions. After removing the tie-downs, how can I put them back on again at the end of the flight? There seems to be no clicking spot to have them back. Same question for the Pitot cover: clicking on the tube removes the cover, but I found no way to have it back. And finally the tablet. How can it be switched off at the end of the flight? Thank you for your attention, Giorgio

  4. Started by P38nut,

I would like to give some feedback to the developers of this model. And I hope they either read this forum or the info here is passed onto them. I have approximately 40 hrs flying the SeaRey Elite Advanced in MSFS and zero experience in the plane in real life. I hope my thoughts will be accepted for what they are...the experiences and hopes of an enthusiastic customer. I truly think the plane can be a winner. Firstly the plane is fun as a runabout which is what I suspect it was developed for. Fast taxi on water is not unlike driving a jetski. Cruise, however, is quite the challenge. Previous comments in this forum regarding the autopilot are valid. …

  5. I am absolutely loving flying this plane. I had been waiting to buy MSFS until someone made the SeaRey and was extremely excited last week when I finally checked again and saw it had been made. Currently, the only issue I'm having is minor (especially given the type of flying you typically do in this type of plane), but when I toggle the landing light it appears to only be on the passenger side and provides no real visual improvement for the pilot. Any chance this could be updated to light up both sides or at least switched to the pilot side if only one light? Thanks!

  6. Started by Jenny Davis,

Quite simply this is appalling Auto pilot doesn't work randomly climbs or descends by itself every flight it does something different you increase throttle nose drops , decrease it it rises impossible to trim , very hard at best cant read info on Garmin its so small can remove tiedowns but cant put them back or if you can it doesn't say how flaps bug on water they just keep going up and down by themselves crabs into the wind when no crosswind , almost completely uncontrollable on runway even with no/lo wind flaps do not seem to have any drag or affect speed i maybe wrong on this as i cant read the numbers on garmin but doesn't seem…

  7. Started by CaptCrash,

From cold and dark the autopilot wont hold heading. It keeps altitude but with a steady left turn. This is the Elite advanced. If spawn on the runway it works as it should. Flightplan with GPS not tested. Edit: with spawn on runway, the AP got a slight drift to the right.

  8. Started by P38nut,

I have the Advanced version and I'm looking to recreate the round the world flight of the Southern Sun as per https://www.southernsun.voyage/story Is there a relatively easy way to add fuel capacity similarly to the real Southern Sun to allow such a recreation? I've tinkered with the cfg files on a few simple addon planes in the past, but I'm not seeing the same format in the files for the SeaRey and I'd rather not blindly poke around screwing thing up trying. Thanks.

  9. Title says it all SeaRey Vers 1.01 Flaps don't return to fully up 0 degrees they remain drooped in external view when fully retracted

  10. Started by Nateice,

The Searey elite has electric flaps in real life. Suggestion for future update. Thanks!

  11. SeaRey Home Build (Blue) reports collision with object when spawning on runway or parking position

  12. Started by Yoram Ariel,

After spawning in VR you are basically sitting in the air, no cockpit in site all around. Switching to external view you can now see the plane and take off. Flying without a cockpit was quite fun but it tanked my framerate after a few minutes of flight. 2D OK. Quest 2, Virtual Desktop, SteamVR, Windows 11 22H2, DX12, 517.48, 3070Ti, Ryzen 5 3600, Xbox Controller Help appreciated.

  13. It is a fun and different little plane. I must have done some thing wrong. When I start the voltage is at 12.1V, as I am flying, it goes down slowly, and after about ten minutes, it is at 10.3V and the engine stop. I gues it is the fuel pumps. It must be the generator not connected, and then the battery is drained, and empty. I have tried to empty the community folder, no success. Is there a switch I have not seen?

  14. Started by Razalom,

As the title suggests there is 2 major issue (one for VR and 1 monitor or VR) Firstly the reset VR position does not function correctly. When this is pressed it puts you about 5 feet in front of the plane making getting back in to the cockpit view very hard. If you select to get external mode its fine but of course clicking to go back to cockpit puts you in front of the plane. The plane will crash (not the sim the plane itself) when spawning in at a lot of gates and even runways but not all. Seems very random. Have the SeaRey Elite - Advanced Cheers

Hello, Reporting that on loading my first flight with the Sea Ray (positioning at Valkarya, FL), the aircraft loads half buried on the tarmac, as if on water, and when I click the Fly button, I "crash" due to collision. Alex
