  1. The project is clearly positioned between the default Airbus and the far more complex (and more expensive) models from other development teams. Like the real Airbus usability and transparent, easy to use systems were the main focus, all packaged is some of the best modeling ever shown in an FSX addon. As it is easy on framerates and not overly complex, it is ideal for online flights where workload can be high. FSX only (no FS2004 version possible)Very high end modeling and texturing (we think it is the most detailed airliner to date)As much as possible default FSX functions so external products and hardware can use it A320 and A321 models, 8 liveries (for sure Air Berlin, Air France, Alitalia, Iberia etc, many more available as free downloads) CFM and IAE engines (though the flight model and displays are based on the CFM)Highly detailed VC with extended animations and soundsFull FSX external sound set (sound cones etc)Easy on FPSDesigned to simulate the work of the pilot, not the aircraft. So no maintenance mode, virtual cabin etc. Very focused on the left seat. All systems that are highly automated in the Airbus (like hydraulic, APU, electric etc) and do not need a lot of crew actions are highly accurate without making the aircraft more complex to use for the less advanced user.Full animation of all doors, cargo hatches, flight surfaces, even the engine slowly rotate in the wind (speed and direction depending on wind!)External objects like chocks, traffic cones, GPSU (all compatible with AES of course)Possible to save the state of EVERY system in the aircraft, not just the default systems (over 400 items saved!)Fully support FSX failure, time acceleration modes and shared cockpitHighly extensive, innovative lighting system (really lights up the scenery, so you can taxi in the dark) that includes runway turn-off lights etc)Very advanced paint kitExtended manuals with step by step guideSpecial support forumRelease May 2010 in download, few weeks later for the boxExpected price around 32 Euro plus VAT when applicable. We are not yet giving a full list of features for the systems as we don't know all of it at this moment. But let me give out some things. The systems are modeled in such a way that the full experience of flying a highly automated aircraft is achievable for pilots with limited time or experience. PFD and ND are very realistic (most likely not with terrain display as that kills FPS like little else and no weather radar as it is never realistic)Full TCAS system includedEngine display is very realistic (CFM engine simulated)Systems display is near perfectly simulated within normal operationEverything on the glareshield is solidly simulatedFADEC and FBW systems are better then we expected, rather good actually (so you won't be using the throttle a lot)All normal Flight Control Laws are used and will prevent any out of control flight (High AOA Protection, Load Factor Limitation, Pitch Attitude Protection, High Speed Protection, Flight Augmentation (Yaw), Bank Angle Protection)Engines are very realistic (apart from the nagging fuel burn issues when you fly at very low or very high cost settings, we don't care a lot actually about that)GPWS is very goodStartup from a fully cold aircraft fully realisticFully updatable nav database (navigraph)Full option to do the flight planning (airport, waypoints, cruise altitude) on the MCDU and the option to change these things in flightRadio page, Aircraft page, Selected Nav page, INS page, GPS page etc.Lateral Flight planning (allowing to enter flight plan, airport, waypoints, cruise alt, SIDs & STARs and airways not supported)Simple Performance pageSimple vertical navigation It is likely this project will be extended to a more complex version (in systems) summer 2010. The extended version will include more complex versions of the systems we left out of this product that has ease of use as it's main goal. We can not give any details on this extended version at this moment. This extended version will come as a simple low cost update to the main package.
  2. as i started flying in flightsim x i've had the same opinion as you. but beleave me it's really easy to use an fmc and it is not going to take long to learn how to do it. expecially on an plane which is made for beginners(/those who don't wanna have pmdg system depth). and as kwiss told you you just have to push the hdg selector of airbus in to turn into that mode which is called gps mode by the flightsimulator. just buy and try, you'll see it's really easy to use the airbus systems. and in a few weeks you are going to say "how have i ever been able to like the default system in flightsimulator". this i can swear to you. and don't forgot that you just have to push maybe two ore three buttons on the fmc to import the flightplan. maybe mathijs can make a video about how easy it is to programm the flight computer on that airbus. then you can make your own opinion anout that.

What an amazing photo. If this was a computer-rendered scene, it would probably disqualified as completely and utterly unrealistic by many... However, what you're seeing on this shot are neither contrails nor jet blast. These are wingtip vortices, or probably vortices from the tip of the outboard flaps in this case, which cause the water vapor in the air to condense in their cores if the atmospheric conditions are just right. And yes, I want that to be modeled. When you look at how the snow is blast over the ground along these vortices, you know why you don't want to follow closely behind a big airplane, and if you have to, why you want to stay above its flight path and land beyond its touchdown point... First of all sorry for posting in a old thread; I cannot find a newer one. Anyways, here we go: http://www.airliners...D-11/1661184/L/ Just from this picture i can suggest the following- 1- To make sure that The game engine supports Realistic Contrails 2- Realistic Sun/Moon effects on the Ground and Water 3- Proper visual distortion 4- Realistic Jet Blast effects? (A few recent games have Used Speedtree. I am sure this can be used for the new simulator/ Jetblast) 5- Higher quality Default airports then what FSX has (not too good- otherwise no one will buy addons )6- Wingtip Vortices (Thanks Arista)
  5. It should not be hard to add a 2d window for the Garmin. But I am sure that you will only need half an hour to get the same functionality from the Navigation Display. You are exactly the kind of customer we build this project for!
  6. ^^^^ Roger that Anyways, here is a sneak peak at a "Internal Project" which i'm working on now. (and yes, its totally fictional) I'm doing this repaint mainly to Freshen my skills before i move back to my other repaints. Again, This is a Just-Started WiP. I plan to add some stripes or something. Any sugestions? The name of this "Airline" is Cirtus Air
  7. well with much work i mean compared with the work which was needed to develop the airbus x! for an a330/340 extension there must only be new sounds, a new exterior, and (a little) different trottles, so i'm not sure if you can call that much work. the flight model is not very different compared with the other airbusses, because of the fly by wire, which is keeping you in the air. maybe here and there aerosoft have to so some corrections with the trust and the flaps/spoilers, but they wouldn't need to develop the systems, because airbus uses the same systems for each of their busses to make it easyer for pilots who can fly one bus to learn how to fly another, and most of the cockpit is the same because of the same reason. so in my eyes it isn't much work. (at least not for an payware produkt) so maybe aerosoft can make an a330/340 extension for maybe 30euro... ...(i'd buy it even for 40 just because all airbusses are great planes)...

  9. is it possible that we are going to get an A330/340 somewhen? i think a good simulation of these aircraft is completly missing for flightsim (and please don't tell me about the wilco flyers, i'm having enought problems with them) it would be just a liitle corrections in the airbus x vc, but a complete new aircraft. the flightmodel wouldn't be very diffrent too, because of the fly by wire system, so it wouldn't be very much work (exept the external model). is there the chance of getting those busses somewhen in the future? would be nice and one thing about the manual of the airbus x: can't we already get the uncomplete manual? i think about just a few pages... 10 would be enought i think and there would be much more to read later if the airbus comes out, but only the importanst things now (there must be much of the manual done already so why can't we get a little in the next few days)? would be interesting to read... and if there aren't already the translations in other languages then it dosn't matter, i think every one who can read and wrtie in this forum can understand enought english to read an manuel for a less complex airliner...

excellent.... and the font seems very fine !
  11. Hi guys! I need your help on the shown project below. I couldn´t find the right font for the "LUFTHANSA" lettering. If anyone could point me to the correct (freeware)font or a high quality foto where I can "draw" the writing (I had a look at airliners.net but couldn´t find a pic where the writing was taken big enough and with 90°) I´d be happy. So here´s just a little teaser. Only the fuselage is made and don´t care about the color change at the wing section of the fuselage. It´s already changed. Take it a s early Alpha with many parts beeing adjusted:

Wow. Thanks for telling me. I added it to the list.
  13. Looks like the race is on for prize #2, I think ManuelL has #1 locked up.
  15. Would just like to add that a plainly written summary of all the latest information on this topic has been put together by Jesus Altuve and can be found here.
  16. You do know that we were Shut-Down right? I for one have some progress, I'm slowly working on the repaints, But i'm Stuck on the Finnair Tail
  17. Is there anyway that after release at some point (or at the release) you could make a livery installer? For some reason, whenever I install freeware liveries, it never works. Maybe i just don't know how to do it (I've watched dozens of tutorials and it still never works!) -Matt
  18. Guest
Come on guys ! release is close and we got not a single shot to help us wait ???
  19. and another question: if all the electric fails and the battery is empty what happens then with the flightcontrols? can they be used although the plane is out of power? ore is it so that you can't run out of power because there is a virtual rat working even if you say that it is not simulated? *if you vote this post down then please tell me why, because a few other posts of mine were voted down and i really am not knowing why*
  20. hey everybody just a question: is it possible that the manual is going to be released in the next few days, so that the customers can already learn the airbus specific instrument and so on? of cause only if it is already completly done... then we would have something to read which is not as boring as ... (don't wanna say the word)! if it isn't possible could you at least tell the reason mathijs? thanks and i hope i'll get something to read the next days (and not only i...)
  21. Bitte deutsch!!!!! Info auf der Startseite steht ja deutsch, aber hier englisch??????????????????????????????
  22. @ Chris , If you read my post , yes all the liveries you ( and many others ) listed are already done . The reason this thread has so many pages , is because of all the multiple postings asking the same questions over and over ,. Read the whole post from page 1 and then you will know as much as we do . Is the effort spent to replicate these extreme conditions worth the time, trouble and expense? The essence of flight simulation is to simulate flight, and if I were to discover that some sloppy code had crept into the `normal` flight modelling regime because some designer had been forced to spend his time modelling a bloody `hurricane response curve` to flight characteristics and adding bits falling off in violent up- or down-draughts then I'd be mightily p*****d off, as would the MAJORITY of the community who DON'T want to simulate flying into a hurricane, as normal flying involves NOT flying into hurricanes because we DON'T WANT bits falling off our airplanes... Seems to me that the discussion about extremes in the simulation environment benefit the few, and pander to individuals desires, rather than considering the needs of the greater community. Just how many times would you fly that Hurricane mission? 1? 10? Every single flight...? I think not. It would hold your attention for minutes, maybe an hour or two, then off you go to your helicopter crashing scenario for another ten minutes, then probably on to some other bridge-crash scenario before you got bored with crashing and decided to try to actually stay in the air - at which point what the hell use is crash physics? There needs to be some more grownup thinking than this, surely? Can you not consider OTHER peoples requirements and how the features you ask for could be part of the greater good, rather than getting self-absorbed in features and facility that serve no useful function most of the time. I've noticed that this topic seems to be descending fast toward lowest common denominator requests, rather than lateral thinking and overall concepts that would be of use to most, most of the time. Shoot `em ups and CrashBangBurns NEED superlative impact physics. Flight sim needs better weather physics far more. In fact every spare Hz of processing power should be utilised to improving the environment the aircraft fly in. Not only would this benefit all, all of the time, the extremists could program their own hurricanes and see how long they last before the aircraft can't take any more. Should be seconds of added value! And perhaps if you want to persist in flying into hurricanes and making bits fall off your aircraft we should include real-world repair times as part of the modelling? Not being able to fly you fave sim plane for six months because your plane is `in the shop` having a re-spar following overstressing would focus the mind wonderfully on NOT doing it again, wouldn't you say?

it was just a suggestion ;-) you dont have to write a novel for me ;-)
  25. yep, I've seen one, but as Gaura said, everything is on hold. Apparently the pirat came from the repainters...
  26. Nah. Its related to the piracy issue. Rest assured I will continue my repaints as soon as i get the Ok from mathjis.
  27. As Far as i Know all repaints have been put on temporary hold, while a mess is being cleaned up.
  28. Yes John, I thought I could have sworn I already showed this: and this is for down under too:
  29. How this then? and yes, I know the registration in the back is not (yet) correct
  30. No sorry curry can be from China too, well it is here
  31. Semi-Photoreal. I am trying to make my repaint look as close to the real one as possible (pics from Airliners.net). Logo etc came from vectors, Other things such as the Tail, and Reg were imported from a real picture, and Ttaced over. (its not easy )
  32. Guest
ok looks better hehe, the reapaints, are selfmade? or photoreal like on the project airbus´ , would show you a pic, but cant post it anyhow
  33. I Finally got AA working (i used Nhancer). Now it looks better, but my performance is down considerably. Atleast it looks better now. I'll try tweaking FSX tomorrow. Here are some screen shots from 5 minutes ago: PS- its the same computer, and i had HUGE black bands on top of my "wide screen" i was just playing around with the resolutions. Please note the colors on the plane ARE a little darker. The problem is My computer's screen is a little "washed out" and FRAPS only captures what is see...
  34. Sorry. Long story short, I was fiddling around in my Device Manager, and by mistake i clicked uninstall driver (for my video card). Now the weird thing is that I did not lose any settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, but AA disappeared from my computer... Ill try to turn it back on... i cant turn it on within FSX because then it makes my FPS go to 2-3 MAX.
  35. FlyTampa Saint Marteen (SXM/TNCM) Awesome. ill take a look into it. do they have a website?
  36. Guest
Very nice. at which airport are these taken from ?
  37. I live in a Town called Govardhana around 130kms from New Delhi, and around 70kms from Agra. Though i do travel a lot (both in and out of india), just recently i flew to bangalore. Awesome I really like bombay, used to go there often. Ofcourse Awesome... Are you a pilot for them or Ground crew? btw is there any VABB scenery yet? Indian was done by Jankees already, and i am too busy right now to do indigo. Lets see -if i have time later on (it will be after the release of the A32x - maybe a month). Yeah. Yummy Curry lol Now That sounds fun . Yeah. and you can find a lot of Real indian culture if you peek into the villages and small towns. The big cities have become too modern. (not that i dont like modern stuff = just that it contrasts highly with indian culture) Now on-topic: i have finished (i cant see anymore errors) my Finnair A321Repaint. I am copying the changes over to the A320, so it will also follow soon. Here are some Recent Screenshots showing the current state of the plane: in the above pic im trying to show how i entered the Selcal Code. Please dont comment on the Stby instruments/etc Screen clipping taken: 25-03-2010 AM 08:00
  38. Ofcourse it does!!! Join the team
  39. I like curry's, does that count?
  40. Hi there. I am from India as well working for India's National Carrier on AIRBUS A320 Family. Hope to see this bird on CSIA's (Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport) ramp soon Gaura what about A320 paints in INDIGO and INDIAN Livery. NEways you keep on the good work.
  41. Guest
I am in no way connected to India... but can I play though ?
  42. Not trying to interrupt here, but here's one more from India My father is dutch, mother is Indian and live in Belgium (quite big combination isn't it, just like you Gaura ) As as you can see from my name, I'm from Bombay;) Kind regards, Swayze
  43. I am from Australia, but go to india a few times a year I am usually in the south Bangalore, Chennai, Goa so and so forth. Go Air thats a really small airlines yeah i have since that aircraft at bangalore airport. Which part of India are you from?
  44. Yeah. i was born in the US and my Parents are european. But i have been living in india ever since i was 2. I think Go'Air's multicolor tails are prety aweseom.. whereabouts are you?
  45. All modeling is done right now, flight model is being tested but I expect little issues there. Few sound issues to solve but the main thing is the coding of the more complex systems. We know how to do them, little surprises there. In the next 18 days day that will be closed as beta test continue. As always I am not afraid to send out something we know has some loose ends that got multiple solutions. Sometimes you just need customer feedback to get it right. On autolands... as far as I know right now, it will work fine right up to the max Xwind. But it depends a bit on fps. FSX calculates some things on a fps base and when it gets behind shit happens. But that's FSX, not the model.

An Ap landing is only for low-vis conditions. Not for windy ones if I remember right...
