Frequently Asked Questions

  1. At this moment we do not plan to add things to this project and modding is not possible. We might work on that after rerelease.

  2. Good question but as this project is really aimed at people with moderate hardware VR was simply never in the planning. VR needs rather serious hardware. It is not impossible we will add it at some point though.

  3. If you have a channel that has enough subscribers we can send you a steam key. Contact marketing@aerosoft.com with all needed information. And yes, we do check before sending out keys, so if you are just after a free key, don't even bother.

  4. We understand this requires some trust, but we do check extensively for any problem before sending out new files. But as with any product that contains many smallish files excluding it from your anti virus software really helps. It loads a lot faster and keeps your framerate up. You will find the product folders in your Steam library: ... \steamapps\common\World of Aircraft - Glider Simulator

  5. Indeed it can be. The main problem is actually getting off the ground. The problem is caused by the fact that you use your rudder to stay on the centerline of the runway and to point your aircraft slightly into the wind. Now at the same time you have the glider that 'pulls' the tail backwards and counters the effect of the rudder. So you need to apply more (sometimes alot more) rudder. The moment you are in the air the issue is less problematic as you can use the ailerons to slightly bank into the wind.

  6. The thermals have are not static columns of air that move up but have a gradient (so maximum lift at the center and less and less if you go away from the center). When you enter a thermal it is likely that one wing is closer to the center then the opposite wing, so that wing will have more lift, will rise and will turn your aircraft away from the center of the thermal. So you can actually feel if there is more list, right or left of your aircraft!

  7. Indeed it is very weird the brown is up and the blue is down, but that is how it is in the real aircraft. Honestly.
