That's kind of the problem. After cruise, you initiate a descent. For descent, you decrease throttle to avoid overspeed. However, the controller went to sleep and doesn't decrease throttle. You need to press a button on the controller first to wake it up, then decrease throttle.
I know it sounds minor, but it's really annoying to decrease throttle to find out the airplane doesn't respond, having to press a button, then moving the throttle again so the sim picks up the new value.
It's so annoying that I've given up and have a wired controller instead (by connecting it via usb-c to my pc), rendering its wireless feature useless.
