I am going to wait for the installer update, in the meantime I will run the Christmas Tree application and light up the top row buttons (always on) since I am also usually playing in a darker room, like FH2990. As far as I know, since MSFS 24 is not trying to control the lights, it is no problem.

yes this did work for me the only problem I had was when trying to paste AFC_Bridge file I kept getting a message "The organisation will not allow the file to be pasted here" the work around was zipping the AFC_Bridge file   and extracting to the community folder Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\

I tried exactly the same thing a few days ago after doing a search on the location of exe.xml.  Same result as you - no dice... Irritating huh.   I also have my steam installation on a different drive to my system drive eg. "G: drive" rather than "C: Drive"... not sure if that throws a spanner in the works.
