The Peter Faase database

This is NOT an official update for Global Air Traffic Control but a very large user created project (though it might be used in a later official build. Our newest best friend Peter Faase has converted some real aviation databases to make the traffic in GATC far more realistic.
There are now a whopping 704 airline files (was 112!) and the amount of aircraft files has grown from 83 to 134. That means that you will see a far greater variety of airlines at each airports and that chances of seeing an airline that does not belong at an airport are serious reduced.
The easiest way to install these new files is to remove the folders AirlineFiles and AircraftFiles from your C:\Users\your name here\Documents\Aerosoft\GATC and replace them with the two folder in this zip. We do not advise you to overwrite them. If you have any other tweaks in these files make sure you save them first.
We thank Peter for these superb files!

Gents,

Thanks for your nice words :-)

To answer keenrw; indeed British Airways doesn't have any 340's however, i also took the liberty to use the codeshare option so it's possible you see a 340 from most likely Bangkok Airways, Flybe, Loganair, Meridiana or WestJet with a BA callsign.

Cheers,

Peter

The extra added airplanes and such was a real deal breaker for me, so I won't be using this add on. But thank you for the effort. :cheers_s:

I do not understand what you mean, we added aircraft and that's why you are not using GATC? And of course it is not an add-on but a fully standalone simulation.

Great addition, but the speed of the Fokker F50 is not realsitic. I think the value in the XML is in Km/h and not in knots.

The F50 is entering the simulation at more then 400 knots :)

Is there a way to remove aircraft types from a specific airline using the built in SDK editor? I see where I can ADD aircraft types...but not remove. I'd love to tweak some of these to be more realistic (e.g. removing MD11s and A380s from Delta_Heavy...and B736 from Delta_Medium).

If not, can anyone recommend a way to manually edit the .XML files. Every time I try and open a file it is in a format where I can't edit the text...

Thanks!!

Markus
