Hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction... Back in early August, I started having issues with MSFS 2024 and my Honeycomb Bravo. It will randomly disconnect (USB drops -- I hear the beep in Windows) and no matter what plane I'm flying -- I primarily fly the PMDG 737-800 in free flight (I like to use the A Pilot's Life v2 as a career add-on).
It's random, and intermittent but occurs primarily during climb where I'll here a ping (the sound is like when you connect/disconnect a USB device in Windows), and the throttles will shut down. This isn't isolated to PMDG and the 737-800. The engines will drop out and I have to scramble mid-climb to get engines restarted. This occurs with other planes too in the sim -- default Asobo Cessna 172, Cessna 204, Cessna 408, PMDG 777-300 ER, really everything. The PMDG planes seem to be the most sensitive... I've read in Reddit posts and other AI queries that the PMDG planes are particularly susceptible to micro-disconnects with Honeycomb devices (especially the Bravo) and the plane will "reset" itself.
I've tried the following things to isolate and fix the problem... all to no avail.
Changed settings in Windows for USB controllers and HID devices to disable power management
Moved Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo off of USB 3.0 powered hub to directly on back of motherboard (Asus ROG Strix 870 E-E). Note that all USB ports on this motherboard are natively 3.0 USB ports
Moved both Alpha and Bravo to a powered USB 2.0 powered hub -- some AI research has indicated these devices are more stable on a USB 2.0 port
Updated a tone of BIOS settings to remove power management on USB controllers
Uninstalled and reinstalled Honeycomb bridge drivers -- have Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie devices
Updated FSUIPC 7.0 to latest version (required for APLV2)
Updated firmware and software for other flight sim hardware -- WinCtrl PFP 3N, 3N PDC, 3M PDC, and PAP3 auto pilot panel, including updating SimApp Pro software
Updated Tobii 5 eye tracker firmware software
Updated StreamDeck XL software
I've even turned off all RGB software (I run a Corsair iCue environment) before starting MSFS 2024 as I've also read with AI inquiries that RBG schemes can create issues with Honeycomb Bravo
I've done everything but uninstall MSFS 2024 and re-install and/or do a fresh install of Windows 11 and start all over. If anyone's experienced similar issues would appreciate any advice / help...
