I just bought the A340-600 (version 1.0.5 - FS2024) few days ago.
And unfortunately, I’m also experiencing this problem which is really not a good first impression for me, TBH. ☹️
After many attempts to troubleshoot and prevent the issue, I’ve found the following:
The freezing starts to occur when:
I log in to Navigraph and allow the NavData to update.
The problem also occur when I manually update the NavData without logging in to Navigraph by placing the files in the FMSData folder.
So, I suspect it's not the Navigraph login, but the Navdata update itself that potentially triggers the freeze.
The simulator may freeze while loading into the world after clicking "FLY NOW", leaving me stuck on the empty world map UI.
In some cases, the simulator successfully loads into the world, but it will eventually freeze at any phase of flight. (My recent ones was when taxiing for departure and when climbing to cruise altitude)
It only works reliably, without freezing, when I:
Clear the WASM folder.
Do not log in to Navigraph.
Do not perform any NavData update.
Keep the default NavData cycle 2403 that was shipped with the product.
However, having to continue flying with the outdated 2403 NavData cycle is not a viable option for me.
I hope this information helps identify the cause of the problem and leads to a fix.
Given the price I paid for the product, I expect it to provide reliable functionality,
including the ability to use updated NavData without experiencing these freezes.
