Hello,

Recently I have had trouble using the Aerosoft A320 series on P3D, because as soon as I load the sim, it shuts down, as if it had crashed. However, there is no application crash log recorded in Event Viewer. The sim loads all the scenery and goes through the normal loading process, and for about 30 seconds I can see the cockpit with blank screens and the engine sound playing on loop. However I cannot interact with anything and the sim shuts down shortly. This happens on any A320 variant at every airport. I'm using Prepar3D v5.4 on Windows 11 build 26100. My graphics drivers are up to date. I have tried completely uninstalling the A320 variants and deleting C:\P3Dv5 Addons and also Aerosoft folder from My Documents. I have also tried uninstalling the Visual C++ redistributables and letting the installer reinstall them. The issue occurs whether or not RAAS is installed. What other steps I can take, are there any logs that I could forward?

After weeks of troubleshooting and three clean OS installs on two different computers I have determined that this is a compatibility issue with Windows 11 version 24H2. I request developers at Aerosoft to look into this, because on Windows 11 24H2 the addon is unplayable.

Well, Aerosoft never said it was Windows 11 compatible:

Keep in mind this is a rather old product, out of development for almost seven years now.

good.

the next time I buy an aerosoft product ( doubtful ). I'll conserve a computer with a windows 95 type operating system, so I'm sure everything will work

Please, I have notifications turned on for this in case anyone comes across with additional troubelshooting steps or potential fixes. I'm well aware that this is an old product not currently in active development, I'm keeping this up in case someone finds a workaround or a setting change that could make this work. Please keep the Aerosoft bashing to Reddit and Discord.

I just updated to 24H2 yesterday and now my A330 and A320 family aircraft won't load without crashing. Thankful to hear it's a windows issue and not something corrupt in my sim.

QUICK, roll your windows update back before 10 days pass!!

I have managed to get the Aerosoft buses working with Prepar3D version 4.5. For anyone who intends to use them in Windows 11 as well, I suggest to do the same. The hassle of having 2 separate P3D installs makes setup more convoluted, but it outweighs the security risks of using an outdated version of Windows.

Please read here:

Dont expect any fix, especially since it is a problem introduced by a Windows Update. And the A3xx development for P3d has been closed several years ago.

Is there a solution to this? I've thankfully managed to roll back the windows update and it's working again.

But this really needs to be fixed?

I agree, so talk to Microsoft. They caused the problem, after all. As Otto wrote, these projects were closed many years ago, and I seriously doubt Aerosoft will reopen them to fix an issue they did not cause. You might also ask Lockheed to restore the functionality that their SDK describes.

We are not asking for the project to be reopened to have an improvement. I know further development of this item is finished.

However,I think as a paying customer, and as the aircraft is still being sold, isn't the support should still be provided in the case of this?

This is a major issue where the aircraft cannot even be loaded.

By the way, I have tried to open a ticket with Microsoft and P3D.

However, as I am not the developer of this program, how would I even know what the problem is in the first place?

Could we please request to have someone in Aerosoft to look into this further to be compatible with 24H2 update?

Dear Julietoscachos, You bought a product created for use under Windows 10.  It works under Windows 10.

There were never any promises it would work in a new version of Windows.

That's all.

Hi all, Since Aerosoft is unwilling to help in anyway with this, I have attempted to open a community chat in Microsoft forum.

Please see if you can contribute anything to this in anyway.
