Aerosoft SimWare 730 Posted January 5, 2022 Aerosoft Share Posted January 5, 2022 Basic Honeycomb Bravo throttle controls with the MSFS Aerosoft Twin Otter This tutorial will demonstrate the basic setups to use the Bravo throttle with the Twin Otter. We will cover the following points : Throttle Throttle reversers Propeller pitch Propeller feather Fuel mixture Flaps Elevator trim Alternate throttle reversers As usual, don’t rely on the default assignments that will appear when the Bravo is hooked up to the computer. The Twin Otter is a dual-engine, variable pitch aircraft. Not the standard default single engine fixed pitch most of the default assignment profiles are based on. So, instead of altering, renaming, debugging automatic profiles, just start from scratch. As a reminder, here is how to create a new profile in MSFS : STEP 1 : - Go to OPTIONS -> CONTROLS OPTIONS - Select POWER MANAGEMENT -> THROTTLE - Make the assignments as on the picture below The reversers are triggered by the THROTTLE x DECREASE functions NOTE : Do not check the REVERSE AXIS boxes STEP 2 : - Select POWER MANAGEMENT -> PROPELLER - Make the assignments as on the picture below The feather is triggered by the TOGGLE PROPELLER REVERSE THRUST function STEP 3 : - Select POWER MANAGEMENT -> MIXTURE - Make the assignments as on the picture below STEP 4 : - Select POWER FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES -> CONTROL TRIMMING SURFACES - Make the assignments in RED as on the picture below - Select POWER FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES -> SECONDARY CONTROL SURFACES - Make the assignments in YELLOW as on the picture below You are ready to fly ! Here is an alternate method to control the throttle reversers. Pro’s : It allows for fine reversers level modulation Con’s : Both engine #1 and #2 reversers are triggered together by the engine #1 lever. Make the assignments as on the picture below. NOTE : Do not assign the THROTTLE x DECREASE functions ! Reversers level modulation :

Deputy Sheriffs Eric Bakker 736 Posted January 21, 2022 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted January 21, 2022 Cedric, I was wondering, can we assign 'prop feather' to the prop reverse buttons? Now I need to use the mouse to feather the prop.
liazkam 1
An issue I encountered: The elevator trim wheel on the Honeycomb comb is not an axis, but as shown above, it is a button for each direction. Right now in MSFS each move of the wheel creates a single click which makes a slight movement in the simulated trim wheel. So you will see the "trim motion" light comes up, but almost no movement in the simulated trim itself. I was wondering if you encountered such behaviour? SimHanger just recently posted a video which addresses this exact issue, but uses a 3rd party software tool
meierzwo 17
The Trim Wheel is a undergoing Issue in the SIM. Asobo had fixed it in one of the Updates, and broke it again in the next one.

But there is no visual animation of the trim whell in the aircraft itself. This should not be a big issue however as when using a hardware device, one is supposed to rely on the movement of the hardware itself. Best regards. It's not the Animation or the Trimming Function itself. It's the Repeating Time or Acceleration for Trim Up and Trim Down on the Trim Wheel. In many Planes, you need way to much Input. Spinning around the Wheel many Times and the Plane did react way to slow on the Input. X-Plane did it correct but in MSFS it's a Bug. It was fixed. A little bit to much, but gone with the next Update. If you have the Alpha Yoke, it's better to use the Trim Switches there instead of the Trim Wheel on the Bravo. At the momentary state, the Trim Wheel on the Bravo is nearly useless in MSFS.

This way, modulating the speed of the trim for instance will be improved. Best regards.

Transair27 90
while on the topic of the Bravo and Twin Otter, I find that no AP dials work on the Bravo. I recently had the Bravo replaced but downloaded HC software again. When AP is on, the AP and VS light up but I cannot select Heading, Alt etc or use the dial to adjust anything. Any ideas please? DELETE REF ALL FIXED NOW THANKS
