I use Thrustmaster TWCS HOTAS throttle hardware. This has a single throttle lever with no reverse range. I use F2 and F3 to control reverse. I have calibrated the throttle by recording the current lever positions at IDLE, CL, MCT and TOGA detents and saved the settings. I selected AUTO IDLE and F2/F3 for reverse control, fully manual OFF. Having done this, CL, MCT and TOGA detents match, reverse works as expected, but the idle position is incorrect.
If I advance the throttle from idle, the sim throttles do not respond until the hardware lever is at the mid point, i.e. when the input is 0 (my Idle is -1, TOGA is +1). Although I recorded the idle position in the EFB, it is as if the software assumes idle is zero and ignores the negative range. This means half my throttle input is unavailable and the manual range very compressed. Terrible for taxi thrust control.
Please help as controlling thrust in the manual range is extremely difficult.
