EDDB elevation issue

Hi.

 

P3Dv5. Aircraft is "hovering" around 40cm above the airfield.

See attached pictures.

Running Orbx Vector LC, and Europe, but not germany.

So maybe something else is interfering: scenery, some tools, GSX not uptodate....

Nope, this is the only addon airport out of hundreds I get this issue at.

Check, if there is any other AFCAD for EDDB active.

Also you run EDDB Pro for v5? 

The v5 sim has new airport data compared to v4, so an adapted alt correction file is sometimes required. That’s one reason why there are specific v5 installers for addons.

EDDB_ADEV5-OP01-BER is the afcad in the scenery folder.

In the ALT folder, theres these two files:
AFX_EDDB_BERALT

AFX_EDDB_SXFALT

Happens in both 5.2HF1 and 5.3 (currently running 5.3).
I read something about 5.3 supporting slopes more, maybe the afcad needs to be modified, like EDDF's issue with freezing when approaching while it loads the afcad.

I have also both files being active and do not see the problem. So again, something else must be interfering.

Please show a screenshot of OC so that we can see, where the library insertion point sits.

There might be another afcad for EDDB on your system. That’s the usual reason for such alt issues.

I also have EDDI file in my scenery folder. So maybe this one is specific for P3Dv5.

Please search for any bgl file with EDDB in its name outside the EDDB installation folder and post the result. Searchstring would be *eddb*.bgl

Hi, having exactly the same problem. Just reinstalled p3dv5.3 HF2 and the EDDB scenery. Also FTX Germany, plus base package and LC and Vector.

 

Any solution?

Did a little bit of trouble shooting. The elevation becomes faulty when updating from 2.0.0.1 (ORBX Patch) to 2.0.3.0 via the aerosoft updater.

I have the same issue. It started with the update from P3D 5.2 to 5.3. My combination is: ORBX LC EU, ORBX Germany North. ORBX Vector is NOT installed.

Strange thing is that the elevation issue can only be seen on the east side of the airport. The further you'll move to the west, the gap between the plane and the displayed ground gets smaller. At the main terminal of BER it disappears as long as you're moving westbound. Do you have any ideas?

I have the exact elevation problem with EDDB Berlin. The plane floating on air.

EDIT: Found solution, from scratch to install the version 2.0.0.0 then to install the ORBX patch if we have ORBX installed. The plane sits on the ground perfectly. As soon as we update to version 2.0.3.0 the plane floats on air.

EDIT final: To resolve elevation just replace the file EDDB_OBJ-Smooth.BGL from the version 2.0.0.0

Thank you very much for the solution. Unfortunately Aerosoft switched the installation to AerosoftOne. I don´t have any access to version 2.0
