A320-A321 add-on.xml faulty

Featured Replies

Hi Aerosoft, just a quick hint, nothing big: I installed the Airbus A320-A321 package and realized that in the add-on.xml for the aircraft, it has a component listed that does not exist:

<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
    <AddOn.Name>Aerosoft A320-A321 Professional</AddOn.Name>
    <AddOn.Description>Aerosoft A320-A321 Professional</AddOn.Description>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>SimObjects</Category>
        <Path>.\SimObjects\Airplanes</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Effects</Category>
        <Path>.\Effects</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Fonts</Category>
        <Path>.\Fonts</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

</SimBase.Document>

There is no "Fonts" folder in the A320-A321 directory. I now manually deleted those lines. Take this post just as a heads up for the next update 😉

Chris

  • 1 year later...

Sorry to report it again but this little issue is still present in the latest v 1.4.3.2 for P3DV5.3
and as P3D seems to be still alive...

No, this doesn't seem to be a real problem.
I don't know if this has anything to do with this issue but in MS Windows 10 the C:\Windows\Fonts directory contains this Font type:

Windows-Fonts.JPG.9cad3391abf8ec239b1e5cb8cbe46d82.JPG

That's why I modify (without being convinced) with Lorby A.O. the path to C:\Windows\fonts :

changing this is not necessary as fonts in the folder c:\Windows\Fonts AFAIK always have a higher priority and thats why the are installed there. The line in the xml seems to be a leftover from the past, Aerosoft will remove one day

There is no need to reference to the windows font folder in the add-on.xml.

The font entry in the add-on.xml is just not required for this addon.
