!! Windows 7 no longer supported !!

As Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 on Jan 20th we will be unable to test any of our
products on that platform. It may work, or it may not, but no guarantees from our side.

abrupt wind sound starting when speed builds up

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I suppose that it is just something which is being worked on as it has to do with triggering and volumes of sound. So no complaint at all, but as suggested , I just open an own  thread for it. Just in case....

There is a sound, probably wind sound, starting and stopping very abruptly when speed goes over or under a certain velocity ( 17-22 knots.)......which is a bit annoying

best regards

Noticed this too in both the IAE and CFM versions of the A319. It can also happen when you are parked if the winds are strong enough.

It is the GearWind and GearWindOff sounds.

First time I had the issue was while taxing, any time I went about 20kts it played the sound. Second time it was 13kts.

yes, exactly... after landing this sound also keeps playing very loudly until speed drops below 17 knots...then it suddenly stops

And I thought this was a feature to warn you if you exceed your taxi speed on the ground :-)

This happens at 10 knots at KDEN. I'm assuming it's due to the higher field altitude. It's super annoying.

Yep. And during decel on landing. The gear wind cuts out at about 20GS with no gradual fade out during the landing rollout.

Glad it's not only me experiencing this.  Really annoying sound.  Maybe just add an option to lower the sound level until a proper fix could be found.
