  1. My friends (and I mean that).... I am closing this topic because it is counterproductive and toxic. Most people just seem to add without reading. Even more just start to click up and down votes without reading (I seen somebody come online and giving 9 downvotes in the first 92 seconds he was online). Some of the comments here are simply not acceptable. If you want to discuss things with those words there are dozens of forums on the internet. I will not allow my developers to be ridiculed here. Let's get a few points straight): We absolutely agree that ILS following should

  2. There is no dive. The dive has been fixed. The issue is a slowly but steady descent below the glideslope. To the point that the deflection is at full scale before getting to the DH. Not acceptable for a premium aircraft such as this. Well of course you're going to land the aircraft manually. This plane doesn't have autoland. That's completely missing the point. The point is that there is a problem with how this plane flies ILSs. This is not an isolated incident that one or two people are experiencing. This thread has well over 120 posts. This is a big issue t

  4. You are partially right about that. There is a custom logic in place until 1500 feet above the ground. After this, the simulator's GS Hold is used. The reason for this is pretty simple: The custom logic uses VS Hold but this can only be set in steps of 100 feet per minute which is way too rough for the final part of the approach. We brought the issue up in a call last Friday and stressed the importance that it gets fixed in general (not just for the CRJ). So, Asobo will look into it and find a fix, however we don't know anything about a time frame for it. Now you know as much as I

  5. Being able to fly an ILS properly is a basic necessity in an aircraft like this. If you know before release that your airplane is not able to do this properly, you are releasing too early. And in an unfinished state with known issues. And you should be honest and open about that. Happy that for you, ignorance is bliss. You don't know the real plane, so you are happy with deficiencies. Let's both stay in our lanes, I'll do the real flying and fact checking the nonsense you post .

  6. And Hans explained that. Again, nobody is saying there is not issue. As you put words in my mouth I did not write "You're not a real pilot if you want to use the AP to minimums" I will remove myself from this discussion. I believe you very well understood what I wrote. You tried to make look foolish to make your own point. That is not the style of discussion I enjoy and does not help this issue in any way.

  7. What a tough week! Sorry for reporting so late, but here we go. With snow, rain and 0 degrees the container arrived in Paderborn and has been handled in record time. So far, all orders that were scheduled for this batch are ready to get picked up. Please understand that for some customers the tracking status does not change within 24 hours. It was simply impossible for DHL and UPS to pick up all the parcels today. Of course there are some special pickups planned for tomorrow. As you already thought, we could not ship all pre-orders, but we are very happy to be one step further again. Obv

  9. You can fly Vref from 10nm final and the real plane will do just fine on glideslope... You'd have an interesting talk with ATC probably, but the plane has no problems. In fact, keeping Vref+10-15kts until flare would likely get you a couple of speed calls from the pilot not flying, as you should be Vref over the threshold and being 10-15kts fast significantly increases your landing distance required. For now, this real CRJ pilot is simply not flying this virtual CRJ, just like I would not fly a real CRJ that takes me below the glide on autopilot . But hey, that's just my personal d

  10. Exactly. Some operators (Jazz being one of them) are approved for CAT III approaches with a DH of 50. I'm sure you know this but incase other don't, in those cases the AP is required to be engaged until visual contact with the runway is made. Bottom line is that the plane is designed to fly an ILS while undergoing configuration changes.

  11. Dear @CRJay (and others), we have dozens of replies covering the ILS/ GS issue in multiple threads. We have that FAQ entry since day 1 exposing and commenting about the ILS / GS problem. We are well aware of this issue and still try to find a good way of getting around it. We have stated many times that the DEV team is working with ASOBO to find a solution for it. What should we do more? This issue has many names like: Death Dive or Nose Dive or even Dolphin Dive. Just do a search about it with your favorite search engine and you will get many

  12. I am typed in the CRJ and I've flown it for years. I can fly an ILS in this plane with my eyes closed (though I don't recommend doing that!) I teach it in the sim as well. There is definitely something very wrong with how this plane flies an ILS. Unfortunately it's not a lottery for me. It never works. Since the last update I haven't been able to get the plane to correctly fly the ILS once. I even tried something similar to what @panda180 did. I used NAV mode instead of APPR in order to only track the localizer and then I used VS mode to maintain the GS. Based on my groun

  13. Here are my two cents. I would prefer the A330 first. Firstly there is a lack of a decent long haul aircraft in the sim. We already have the CRJ and the 320neo for short/medium haul. I also think that the A320 is already in good hands. As someone who has never flown the real thing I probably would not truly appreciate the depth that would be available from you guys in the 320. That said I can understand for a business standpoint it is better to roll out the 320 first because more people will buy it. I am preoccupied with the CRJ at the moment and whenever it comes out the twin otter will tid

  15. I have noticed that on rotation, even relatively small crosswinds (eg. a crosswind component of 5-7kts) has a substantial lateral effect on the aircraft. It feels like a 35-40knot crosswind, the aircraft is almost immediately blown 50-100 feet to the side of the runway within a hundred feet of altitude gain in the climb. I can compensate to some degree but I notice two things: 1. it takes an inordinate amount of bank to manage back to runway extended centreline (greater than 20 degrees of roll). 2. while the crj is "blown" laterally, there is hardly any effect of nosing

  16. Just a quick note to say how much I've really been enjoying the CRJ550/700 for MSFS. I've only had the plane dive on approach once, but I've been learning as I continue to read and watch tutorials and it's right up there with the A320Neo as my favorite aircraft now. I'm certain that, as the minor bugs get fixed, it will only get better. Thanks for a great addition to my MSFS hangar. John

  17. I am closing this post. I am very sorry Alain does not want to accept that when something works for tens of thousands of users but not for him the issues simply can not be in the code. We gladly support him in anyway possible, but not like this. Even when the poster ignores even the most basic advice, it is better to close the topic. If Alain conforms his settings are correct and the explains EXACTLY at what point the tutorial does not match what he sees on screen we will be able to assist him. With pleasure. Honestly.

  18. I will have to say it is one of my favorite planes in any Simulator. I am so used to just letting the plane do all the work, and this one has been a bit more challenging. I love it and it taught me how to fly a plane again instead of auto everything, now I feel more involved in the flights.

  20. So, I ordered on the 20th of Jan, and am only getting the Alpha shipped today. So, seems like if you ordered in the first half of Jan you get both, second half you need to wait an extra week or two. If you ordered after January, well, looks like an even longer wait unfortunately.

  22. I agree with what you're saying and I'm glad you're enjoying it. But maybe you shouldn't be telling people that the flap design of the CRJ means the AP can't do certain things, especially with multiple real CRJ pilots commenting in this thread. Just my .02, I'm not a real CRJ pilot but I listen to what they say about the airplane.

  23. Not with every flight - they would turn it over to maintenance to find out what the problem is. I've grounded it till there is a fix as it is just very aggravating to end a flight with problems.

  25. The CRJ is rarely flown at FL400 or FL410 unless very lightly loaded. Even FL390 is a bit of a stretch with any significant pax/cargo/fuel load. If you have FlightRadar24, and configure it to display all CRJ700s in flight at a given moment, you will see that most are flying at FL370 or lower - especially as we enter into the spring/summer season when upper level air temperatures are ofter significantly warmer than in winter. This won’t effect the sim CRJ if you use the default clear sky preset, but definitely can if you use Live Weather.

  28. Hi guys, I am quite familiar with the CRJ and flown it dozen of times. After purchasing the MSFS2020 model yesterday I tried to fly a standard route from EDDM-EGFF. Twice the CRJ had shutdown engines und lost the entire flightplan without any warning. It just happened after 52 min of flight overhead Belgium. The attached photo shows that ther is no memory issue and cpu / gpu are in a good shape. To restart the engines I enabled Xflow and GravX to enable fuelpumps that had gone on any reason. Restoring the flightplan hasn't work either. Flight model settin

  31. ^this. I don't know what classifies as "similar complexity" because the systems seem to be really good but then certain autopilot functions have issues. I'm not saying it's unacceptable to have issues 2 weeks after release, I understand the bugs and am glad to see work being done. But why try to justify them as the crj flaps mean the autopilot can't track the ils while changing configs instead of admitting the bug?

  33. Great, this is the kind of update that should be given here to your paying customers. I fully understand not being able to share a lot of the things that are going on, but this was an issue where the impression was created that the glideslope logic was now custom since the update to solve the issue, yet fingers were still being pointed at Asobo. Now we can at least understand why.

  34. Loving it also, i am surprised as to how smooth each flight is considering the complexity of the aircraft systems etc. I have had no stuttering at all with the CRJ. Really looking forward to see the next aircraft this coming year.

  37. Would be nice to get some feedback from Aerosoft on this. The last post on this issue by anyone seemingly related to the development is roughly a week ago. And it read as only a half hearted acknowledgement of the problem. But the FAQ section still blames the simulator despite the custom glideslope code/logic.

  39. I have the same problem. The plane does not follow the GS, but goes below, so it‘s either disconnect AP or crash short of the threshold. I believe Aerosoft is by now very much aware that something is not ok with approaches. So let‘s hope for a fix in the next days or weeks. For now, Iets follow the recommendation one of the developers made somewhere in this thread: accept this shortcoming in an otherwise awesome plane and hand-fly approaches, until the fix becomes available. Real pilots have that ability, so why not us as well? Happy Landings!

  41. Precisely as Claude said. This forum post should not be about debating back and forth about the validity of a bug nor about pointing fingers. Instead, it is about identifying the issue and finding a solution to it. I neither have the time nor interest to sit here and play ping pong with you as a result of your inability to understand my previous post. The facts are: 1. The CRJ is not properly nor consistently capturing glideslopes. 2. A slew of users have reported the issue. Many of them have reported being able to properly do so in other airc

  42. The flight sim community are not idiots either. I may not be an CRJ expert but I did fly at lot of different aircraft since the FSX days. I think by now I understand how a G/S is supposed to work. The CRJ just doesn't work the way it supposed to. That's just a fact. Aerosoft needs to swallow their pride and fix whatever is causing this. There is no need for this bickering of "user error". If I bring an aircraft at the right flight level , at the right angle, on LOC1 using the right NAV1 frequency, That i am on APPR, the plane should follow the G/S. That's not rocket science. Even the default

  43. No one is being insistent. I made an observation based on the CRJ's behavior in conjunction with another 3rd party addon. I haven't placed any blame. The behavior in the CRJ is different than the behavior in the A320neo. Sharing this information is kind of the point of the forum.
