Dimon 3
There is a FP from flightaware, KSFO - LTBA, that I'd like to convert into PFPX format, but I don't know what to do with coordinates. Simple tutorial would be much appreciated. Emi 5161
Hi Dimon,Flightaware uses a strange format there which isn't used in aviation.A waypoint like 6200N 05000W is called 6250N in PFPX and in the ICAO routing format which is used for FlightPlans and also in the FMS of your airplane. srcooke 422
If you paste the Flightaware route in to the route editor and build it should result in:SNTNA2 ORRCA Q120 ZORUN DCT LLC DCT TWF DCT BIL DCT ISN J549 YBR SCAG KAIIN DCT 56N090W DCT KELMU DCT JELCO DCT GRIBS DCT MAXAR DCT 62N050W DCT 63N040W DCT 63N030W DCT 62N020W DCT ATSIX UP60 AKIVO UM86 FORTY UP60 VAXIT DCT NAVIK DCT SONAL DCT RENKI DCT SUI L867 AMTEK UL867 PITOK DCT NARKA UL867 NEPOT UN127 LAMIT UL867 TIMUR L606 GASRU T390 RILEX UL867 ENESU
pcubine 15
Attached is a brief explanation of unnamed oceanic waypoints. I don't remember where I got it from. When you copy/paste FlightAware routes that have 5600N 09000W you need to convert it to 4 digits and a letter such as 56N90. The following is an explanation on how to do the conversion so PFPX will build a route. If you use the long format from FlightAware PFPX will ignore those coordinates and build a route direct from the preceding named waypoint to the next name waypoint. The attached file needs to be opened with Word. Unnamed oceanic control area reporting points.docx
pcubine 15
I can't get the Word file to come up on my PC, so I will try a text file. Unnamed oceanic control area reporting points.txt
heidem 5
You only have to remove the spaces in the coordinates. For example, this Flightaware route from KATL to FAOR:MUNSN8 IRQ CH AR4 OLDEY L435 KOZIK L435 BUTUX UL435 IRELA UL435 BUVUK 0100S 02000W 0600S 01500W 0900S 01000W 1200S 00500W 1500S 00000E 1900S 00500E 2200S 01000E NIBEK ETUSO UN181 PEDIL UQ19 AVAGOFor PFPX you only have to change it to:MUNSN8 IRQ CH AR4 OLDEY L435 KOZIK L435 BUTUX UL435 IRELA UL435 BUVUK 0100S02000W 0600S01500W 0900S01000W 1200S00500W 1500S00000E 1900S00500E 2200S01000E NIBEK ETUSO UN181 PEDIL UQ19 AVAGOThe result:MUNSN8 IRQ DCT CH AR4 OLDEY L435 BUTUX UL435 BUVUK DCT 01S020W 06S015W 09S010W 12S005W 15S000E 19S005E 22S010E DCT NIBEK DCT ETUSO UN181 PEDIL UQ19 AVAGO
downscc 2
Bingo! Thanks heidem for that tip... I just finished a KLAX-YSSY DAL trip where they used 15 lat/lon waypoints. Your tip will be remembered.
