Pierre95 14
Hello, Opus is using NOAA Grib weather files exactly the same used by PFPX. What do you want more ? Best regards Pierre
ITMan 7
Why rex, active sky, FSGRW is supported and not opus? Am not using data from pfpx server, am using opus data provided by them. I dun understand why opus cant be implemented
Christophe M 16
Hello Pierre, I think ITMAN wants to use the weather file into PFPX like active sky or REX. I'am also interested on that of course. Maybe next update... Crossed fingers. Regards. Christophe.

Maybe next update... Crossed fingers. Regards. Christophe. This is exactly what i meant. Sorry for my english i see no point paying 17euro per year when opus is already providing the data i need. I just have to plug it in but how?

Sorry for my english i see no point paying 17euro per year when opus is already providing the data i need. I just have to plug it in but how? This is also my point a view But i'am positive, and i'am sure they will include OPUSFSX on the next update. Lets's wait an answer from Pierre or Christian about that. Regards. Christophe. Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted June 10, 2014 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted June 10, 2014 Well, you do not only get weather for 12.42 EURO excl. VAT: PFPX uses several types of data to provide real-time information directly into the program. These data are collected from various sources, processed and formatted by our servers and automatically distributed to your local PFPX device. These data are: Winds, METAR, TAF, Tracks and NOTAMs. Providing this up-to-date real-time data produces quite a large amount of server data traffic. Christophe M 16
Well, you do not only get weather for 12.42 EURO excl. VAT: True Grub, but you can find and get easily Metar, Taf, Tracks and Notams for free on Internet... Regards.
ITMan 7
We'll have a look on that again. As i know, we tried once to implement OPUS but there have been problems... Will report soon... Brgds, Judith Well hopefully its true How about data from vatsim and ivao? its free!
srcooke 422
It's going to depend on your requirement for a weather 'forecast', I don't believe any of the weather add-on programs will provide high level forecasts over time and Vatsim certainly not. FlightSimSoft.com 283
unfortunately the weather files provided by OPUS are insufficient for PFPX, they just contain wind Information for a specific route and not the entire world.
Dean B 0
Which begs the question - why do you need the entire worlds weather, when all we are interested in is the routes, and alternates, weather? -Dean.

jpgmultimodal 61
Hi, As far as I know, the met's offices around the world are using NOAA GFS GRIB. PFPX is using these datas as well. Of course you can get freely these data on the Internet and you can get charts like the one enclosed and try to do your own forecast and plot it yourself and it'll work if you do it correctly. What a complicated task !!! Before there were OFPs in RW that was the way we were doing it from forecast charts. These times are gone. PFPX for few $ £ or € give you that straight away with just a click. By the way you cannot get the weather information on a route, AWY, WP without having the whole world. That the way it works. Even that we can import files from REX or other weather engines, the way PFPX works is perfect (to me anyway). Regards, JP
Dean B 0
How would that work then? Thinking about it, that was a dumb question on my behalf. Thanks for pointing it out Stephen. Put it down to a 'Senior' moment -Dean.
