keenrw 59
Hi I had a go at London City airport today but no flights would land , they kept on Going Around cos they missed the runway . The Airport has a 5.5 deg glide and the runway is very short at about 1500 meters so maybe thats why , trouble is the A/C types going around fly into City every day so could be in need of a edit in the files to allow it to land here . thanks Rich
shanwick 3
Rich Does this happen at Sion in Switzerland - LSGS? This has a glide slope varying between 3.5 and 6.0 degrees on approach to R/W 25. The charts for EGLC show that the approach can be flown at 160 kts and a rate of descent of 1,560 fpm. Don't know how this stacks up with the aircraft data stored in GATC files. Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted January 30, 2014 Aerosoft Share Posted January 30, 2014 I just played a session on London City and had no problems landing aircraft there but I did noticed I had to get them on the extended runway center line further out them I normally do. GadgetUK 0
I've experienced the same with ILS approaches at London City. The aircraft follow the ILS glide scope all the way down to the runway threshold, and go-around without landing stating they did not have landing permissions; where they did well in advance. If you do that and but on a visual approach, the planes land with no issues. Therefore it's something wrong with the ILS landing approval.
RobsonM 94
You must first give the aircraft permission for the approach, and then on it's flight strip give them permission to land. But before giving permission to land try waiting for them to stabilize on the approach. Do you still experience the issue? If you can make a video of it this would greatly help pinpointing where the issue is.
