Kevin Lee 3
Hello, When hand flying the aircraft, I noticed the altitude alert will not goes off once the aircraft climbs through the target altitude set on the FCU. Not sure it is a bug or not. Cheers, Kevin

Emi 5161
As Mathijs said, our real world advisors told us this is how the aircraft will behave. It indeed sounds a bit strange though, so I can fully understand your concern... well, that's Airbus logic I think
Emi 5161
Well, but the customer said he is handflying. With the AP on I haven't heared the alert yet.

Hand flying wit AP on is that not impossible any stick input automatically disengages the AP?
Emi 5161
Yes, but then you're not on autopilot anymore and therefore should hear the alert again. So if you overwrite the Autopilot it disengages and therefore you are handflying again.
Emi 5161
A bit difficult to tell from the wording, but 'will not goes off' means to me that there's no aural alert. He means that the alert keeps playing and does not stop. To our knowledge that is what the real bus will do. In a Boeing for example you only hear a single chime, while in the Airbus the alert does not stop.

Matty please do no spam topics. The issue you talk about is not related to altitude alert.
