Thanks EDIT, me too WIN7 X64 GR UL OK, those add-ons do have a lot of memory load impact too. So, assuming your FSX.cfg is not tweaked, you could follow the advice in the manual on how to use your FSX display settings. First try the normal setup, then have a look at our suggestions for heavy add-ons. In the latter case, we usually suggest lowering your LOD radius to medium, and autogen to normal. You can also use our scenery manager to knock-off some memory 'hungry' elements such as 3D grass.

Paul 3
Hi Emil, I was using the PMDG 737/800 NGX. Just running FSX no other addons were selected No weather etc. OS Win7 64bit Paul.

Christopher Barbas 7
My settings was, I have just see that with the default Mooney Bravo at night the memory drops down from 8GB to 2.25GB! Is this to much, I think it is, what do you think? Thanks EDIT- FSX.CFG is not tweaked, only jobscheduler and HIMEMFIX or how it is called! Christopher Barbas 7
As I said before, with the default Mooney Bravo memory drops from 8GB to 2.25GB, by selecting the AIRBUS X drops to 2.07-2.11 and together with ASN, drops even more to 1.94-1.98GB. Thanks EDIT - I forgot to mention that with all other, IVAP was running too(by CTD). EDIT - By dusk is dropping down to 1.52 sometimes lower. KAPTEJNLN 237
well by using the settings from the manual + ASN (active sky next is that corect) well I can say no mater how you point it weather programs makes a huge hit on proformance. a side note for the weather program, try the DXT formats insted of 32bit it might also help.. as test try the same flight that faild whit only fsx own download of weather and i am sure you can compleat

Your settings look ok, perhaps you could lower the Level of detail radius and autogen a bit (also can try de-activating grass) What do you mean by 8Gig? FSX can only use 4gb, so are you referring to total RAM usage? To see what's wrong, we need to see how much memory your FSX setup is using on a default plane at LGTS, you can only see this through a tool like Sysinternals go here: http://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-oom-and-addon-vas-usage/ scroll down to see how to 'measure VAS'

Please see above for measuring VAS using Sysinternals. If you CTD at the apron, something must be quite 'wrong'. You should have at least 500MB to spare on the NGX, unless your settings are all maxed out (AI, water, etc..etc..)

Paul 3
Not sure if this helps, but here are two images from that tool on the download link. First figures are the Default Cessna at LGTS Rwy34 Second the readings for PMDG 737/800 LGTS Rwy34 No other addon running except FSX Limiter BTW my FSX settings are pretty much the same as Christopher has, maybe even slightly less demanding. Cheers, Paul.

Cheers, Paul. edit: sorry my setup is a bit different so jumped straight to the first tab (thanks Patrick) OK, I see that you have roughly 0.5Gb of VAS on the PMDG. This should not give you an OOM. Do you also get the same error as Christopher?
PatrickM 49
Emil! I see on the second picture that he only have 500mb left until he gets an OOM! Refer to the last tab (virtual size)...
