fsfs2 1
Dear All, The rudder as it is simulated, as very little sensitivity. Any clues? In addition, when you apply Rudder and then release it, the rudder kicks back - going to the other side of its center. You see this in the displays and also see this if you in the Spot view from the back of the plane. This seems not to be normal. Any thoughts? Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted July 8, 2013 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted July 8, 2013 Hardware correct calibrated? FSX setting as mentioned in the manual?
fsfs2 1
Hardware correct calibrated Yes, joystick X52 is calibrated. FSX setting as mentioned in the manual? If I apply Null Zones to the rudder axis (as it says in the manual) it will get worst...even more insensible.
Rafal Haczek 1612
1. Which axis did you assign to rudder - a twist axis of your joystick? 2. How does your joystick rudder behave with other aircraft? Please check. 3. What if you set Sensitivity to Max and Null Zones to Min? 4. Double check for any extra assignments for rudder inputs - may even be keyboard keys - remove any double ones 5. Is there any software for the X52 and, if yes, do you have it installed? 6. Do you have a registered FSUIPC installed in your sim?
fsfs2 1
1. What axis did you assign to rudder - a twist axis of your joystic? The default X52 Pro axis for the Rudder 2. How does your joystick rudder behave with other aircraft? Please check. No issues with other planes. 3. What if you set Sensitivity to Max and Null Zones to Min? Max Sensitivity and Min Null Zones 4. Double check for any extra assignments for rudder inputs - may even be keyboard keys - remove any double ones 5. Do you have a registered FSUIPC installed in your sim? Rafal Haczek 1612
There must be a problem on the line between the bus and your controller. Otherwise all other users (including myself) would have the problem. Our aircraft addon is exactly the same. All the difference is in the controllers and settings/assignments/callibration. SInce you are sure there is no double axes/assignments for you rudder, it is hard to say where exactly the culprit is hidden. One more thing: are you sure your AUTORUDDER is off? And what happens if you watch your joystick movements, especially the rudder axis on the ECAM F/CTL page?
fsfs2 1
i think it looked like this Exactly, this is the 2nd point of the rudder. The rudder kicks back like that. This is not normal? In addition, sensitivity is very low.

Otherwise all other users (including myself) would have the problem. I guess so. I don't know if other users are experiencing this. Autorudder is Off And what happens if you watch your joystick movements, especially the rudder axis on the ECAM F/CTL page? Let me check tonight this, I will revert to you. iamniceify 1
Yup auto rudder is off too. I have a clean installation of my fsx weeks ago . No problem with NGX either or any prop plane. Only happen in the air. Is it something do with the FBW? Since it comes on once the plane is in air

--- 170
Same problem here (rudder 'kick back') As the AAX wasn't planned to include any failure modelling I never tried engine out flying before. Due to the decribed rudder problem I just tried an engine failure at V2 and noticed that the rudder effectiveness is way too low. The VMC should be around 110kts but I can't keep the heading even at much higher speeds. Also during crosswind landings the rudder is much more sensitive IRL. Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
Crosswind landings are not failure-related (unless you fail on a crosswind landing ), so there should be a chance for a modified rudder effectiveness somewhere in the future ... (This is just my - seldom humble - opinion, of course!)
--- 170
Confirmed, rudder needs a lot of additional authority.
Joshua Che. 1601
To be honest, I had that feeling as well that the rudder is not effective is enough, but at that time it was Before SP1 and VNAV was more important, so I put it aside and forgotten all about it. Now that its brought up again...., Temporary fix is to go into the aircraft.cfg and modify: rudder_effectiveness = 1.0 to rudder_effectiveness = 2.5 This will give it quite a bit more "kick" during landings. iamniceify 1
Thanks Joshua. Just one last question, what about the rudder kicking back? not too sure but its control by yaw dumper in turn but it should not kick back as in the video?
