Hi everyone,

I recently got both the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant and Alpha Flight Controls, and I was met with an error when trying to install the Drivers.

I always get the error "Missing user.cfg". I discovered the origin of this problem came from the fact that MSFS was not installed on the admin account.

I found another thread with the same issue, which I'll link below.

After a bit of discussing, the user having the problem was provided with a special installation to solve this problem. This seemed to work for the user, unfortunately the link to the software doesn't work anymore.

Would anyone know how to access this custom installer?

Thank you so much

Hi Paulo:

please search for and tell me in which path the file "UserCfg.opt" is located on your system.

Hi Ben,

Just like for Juha, it is MSFS installed via Steam.

The path is :

"C:\Users\paulo\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator"

Thank you Paulo:

and you got the same error message as the user in the original thread? So the installer is looking for "C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator"..."admin" instead of "paulo"?

That's exactly right

I have forwarded the issue to our people in charge of installers to see what we can do. I will come back to you, once I got a reply.

Would there otherwise be a way to force the installer to look for the files in a different place?

Hi Paulo:

no, unfortunately there is no way for that to work. I am still in touch with our installer people and will let you know, as soon I know something new regarding your case.

Do you guys have any updates from the people in charge of installers?

when setting up my honeycomb bravo I accidentlly deleted the file before making a copy ,Is there a way to reinstall that file now I am new to this but believe that this is the problem

when trying to get my honeycomb bravo to set up I try to assign the switches as in instructed in you tube videos , when I type in the switch that I want to assign I can not go any farther on the page shown it shows the page with two rows of rectangular boxes and i can't assign them this is different from the instrutctipn videos

I deleted the file before i made a copy then I and the you tube instructions said that I woul have to get the complete download file if the copy was not made first , I am on my home computer if you want the files i will go to my sim gamming computer and sent to you

Hi Paulo:

Sorry for the delay.

Please try the attached installer and see if it helps your case.

AS_HONEYCOMB_MSFS_V2200.exe

Dear @BenBaron, @SimWare,

I recently purchased the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant along with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I attempted to use the AS_HONEYCOMB_MSFS_V2200.exe installer; however, I encountered the "Missing UserCfg.opt setup" error.

Could you kindly reach out to the developer to confirm if a compatible version of the installer for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available or provide guidance on resolving this issue?

Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Dehliteful

Hi there,

i have the exactly same problem with MSFS24. I have the steam-version and the newest driver "AS_HONEYCOMB_MSFS_V2100" cannot locate the UserCfg.opt.

Please help!!!

Greetings

This is not a sanctioned approach, but what I did was to create a symlink on the filesystem from "Microsoft Flight Simulator" -> "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024"

1) Open a command prompt with Administrator right

2) cd %appdata%

3) mklink /J "Microsoft Flight Simulator" "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024"

4) Install using the installer

5) During startup of the simulation you have to wait a bit, but once on a the menu screen it's safe to start the SimConnect plugin for the Bravo. Do so by running to "%appdata%/Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024/Packages/Community/AFC_Bridge/bin/AFC_Bridge.exe" via the explorer

The above has to be done each time, as the approach used in 2024 for having the plugin start via "exe.xml" has changed. I'm sure there's a way to get things sorted out so that it auto-starts at the right time, I just havent figured that out yet.
