This repaint is for the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended. This repaint represents a Twin Otter that was operated by First Air and the livery is that which was used during 1990's thru to the early 2000'S. The aircraft was normally operated in the Canadian Arctic and was usually based in CYFB Iqaluit. It was operated in the following configurations: Wheel skis, tundra tires and the regular tires depicted in this model.
Please add the following text to your aircraft.cfg after the last fltsim number and change the X to the next number in the sequence. The aircraft.cfg file can be found located in your Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Simobjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft_DHC6_300 WHEEL folder.

Twin Otter Extended US Navy CIRPAS

This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended, in the colors of 762256 (c/n 496). Formerly N83NX, this aircraft is registered with the US Navy, but flying for the Center for Interdiciplinary Remotely-Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS), a research center at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. The CIRPAS Twin Otter is an instrumented twin-engine turboprop aircraft. It supports individual scientists as well as teams of scientists from various Universities and Laboratories who are interested in lower-tropospheric phenomena and air/sea interaction. Payload may be selected from a large suite of state of the art meteorological, aerosol, and cloud particle sensors, while additional equipment collaborating scientists may wish to include can be integrated as well. Twin Otter mission have been sponsored by ONR, NSF, DOE, NOAA, NASA, CARB, and NRL.
Instruments may be installed in racks inside the cabin where a well characterized community inlet delivers ambient air samples, or in pods either suspended by wing-mounted pylons or mounted on a hard point on the cabin roof. Optical ports and windows are on the airplane’s belly and in the cabin roof.
CIRPAS staff calibrates and maintains the facility payload and provides fully reduced, synchronized, and coherent data sets to the collaborating scientists.
The Twin Otter is based at the CIRPAS Marina Facility, but has been deployed to various locations in North, South, and Central America and Asia. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft.

Twin Otter Extended Bureau of Mineral resources VH-BMG

This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended, in the colors of VH-BMG (c/n 219).
Formerly N5216, the aircraft was imported into Australia by the Bureau of Mineral Resources, Canberra, in March 1970.
It was used for extensive survey expeditions all over Australia, usually equipped with a magnetometer boom on the tail.
It was sold to the Missionary Aviation Fellowship in 1987 and went to Papua New Guinea as P2-MFY.
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft.

Twin Otter Extended Air Transit CF-CSV

This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended, in the colors of CF-CSV, as it looked when operated by Air Transit of Montreal between 1973 and 1976.
This aircraft crashed and was destroyed in a crash near Galt in 1981, while on a training flight.

Twin Otter Extended Aeropelican VH-KZP

This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended, in the colors of VH-KZP (c/n 758), which was ordered new by Aeropelican in 1981.
It was grounded in 2001 when Ansett, Aereopelican's holding company went bankrupt,
It continued flying in the basic colors portrayed in this paint until 2003, when it was sold to Abu Dhabi to be used for spares.
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft.
