Tobus

Recommended Posts

- Flyers as of nov 7th:

AS forum: Moshe, Habit

AMA forum: Mick, Dirk

- Scheduled date:

friday november 9th, 19:00UTC - 21:00UTC (20:00 -22:00 Dutch time)

&

sunday november 11th, 19:00UTC - 21:00UTC (20:00 -22:00 Dutch time)

Requirements:

- NL2000v4(.03) scenery from www.nl2000.nl

- optional: Aerosoft EHAM, EHRD, EHLE

- Gamespy account in FSX, Aerosoft server in lobby fly-ins, password = softaero.

- Teamspeak3, login on AS server + headset + mic: 85.114.130.22 , password = softaero

- for both servers: please check connections in advance!

- disable 3rd party weather engine if available, to have the same weather experience for all players

- aircraft flown: simple aircraft to keep frames down with a cruise of 80-100kts.

If no 3rd party simple aircraft with low impact on framerates is available to you, the default C182 is strongly advized.

This because since everybody has that ;-) and will thus appear correctly with everyone.

NL2000 is a framehog, so using aircraft with more complex than default flight dynamics and HD textures will slow things down even more.

Using complex aircraft with large impact on framerates will not only hurt your own experience, but also that of others who also own this aircraft!

For this tour I will probably be flying the Aerosoft Wilga X, http://asn.aerosoft.com/?page_id=6953.

Toby,

I will try to make it, hopefully for the whole flight this time. We must try to get Teamspeak to update just before we launch! I have at last managed to take a screenshot and post it on here!

Hi Toby,

I flew an approximation of the route this afternoon there is some stunning scenery, but I experienced some bad thunderstorms which made me route around them, they seemed to be cenred over Groningen. I am having trouble logging onto teamspeak it just says connection failed, do you know if there is a problem. I checked the IP address and password all is correct but it will not allow me to connect.

Yeah, the weather is shite this week in Holland. I'd disable 3rd party weather for the flight anyway, since it impacts frames and experience between as and rex users differs, strangely enough.

Dont know about the teamspeak server though, although i get a message that the server uses outdated version.

Toby,

Thanks I was doubting my system. Hopefully Teamspeak will be back up by the 9 Nov! Toby I noticed with the scenery that to the West of EHOW Oostwold the other side of the estuary has no textures or at least just the default is that the border of the NL2000 scenery or am I missing a download? The otherthing is how difficult these airfields are to pick up visually, I almost landed on a taxiway at EHHO and had to circle a few times to pick up the grass strip!

Moshe,

I use AS2012 although I had the textures installed but was using the FSX weather engine. I tried to transit at 3000ft but was forced down to 2000ft with lightning going off all around me, it is a good job the Netherlands is flat! I like the Carenado F33 Bonanza. I may get the C182 for Toby's next flight and hope he doesn't notice!

Habit, I hope so too. If not available tonight I'll log support @ aerosoft. If not resolved, we can hijack the VAE TS server ^_^ .

And NL2000 limits to the country border, so Germany is bland if not supported by another product on your system.

That's what I thought, at the estuary (Emse) that leads down towards EHOW there is an impressive Windfarm and generator system, I was impressed because I still managed good frame rates around there. I have attached another screenshot to show how much animation is going on. I didn't find Essen though, I will have a look again today if I get the chance. My daughter is going into hospital tomorrow to have Twins so I think I will be a little busy over the next day or so!

I don't know where Essen came from I thought you had indicated routing via another town or city quite possibly Emden or even Assen! I see you are considering the Wilga, what sort of cruise speed will you achieve? I may go for the Me 108 or one of the Carenado aircraft. I am just hoping the birth of my new grandchildren (twins) does not keep me away on the 9 Nov. My daughter is in hospital now hopefully things progress well, I will be looking after my Grandson this evening which is always an enjoyable experience.

The friday flight was a lot of fun, with me, Dirk N AMA210 and Mick W AMA200 doing the tour. We took 1h 45m to fly EHTX-EHAL-EHOW-EHGG-EHHO.

Since some people early as well as late indicated that they couln't make it the friday, I'll also host this same flight on the sunday.

Look in the top post to find the details. Join in if you want!

Ah, I guess you mean Assen, town and TT circuit.

Good luck with the grandchildren to be!

My FSX PC decided to drive me nuts and the discs letters got changed from some reason... I could not get them back so now I need to go over all the links and verify/fix... not sure I'll be done to make the tour, so if I did not show up, enjoy it and I'll catch you in NL tour#3. BTW, there is a new NL installer version 4.0.38 if anyone is interested... http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=293
