Bad performance at Mega Airport Frankfurt

Sky34x

Recommended Posts

I normally have between 30 - 45 fps in MSFS, even at airports like Munich, Hamburg, etc. However, in Frankfurt the frames drop to 5fps in places. I have also tried tinkering with the graphics settings, but it doesn't help. The FPS stay the same.

About my system:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: Gigabite RTX 3060TI
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB
SSD: Samsung 970EVOPlus M.2 SSD 2TB

Does anyone have an idea?
And in Frankfurt the gates are shown twice on the map, I haven't installed any other Frankfurt scenery.

Hello,

Could you please check that you have the default Asobo enhanced Frankfurt removed? It could help your FPS among other issues. To do this, you'll want to hit "Profile" (top navigation bar) from the Microsoft Flight Simulator main menu, and then "Content Manager". Search for Frankfurt, and click on the Asobo Frankfurt listed, which you should then have the option to delete.

Once deleted, please relaunch the simulator and check if you have any improvements. If you haven't done so already, I'd also recommend toggling on/off some of the settings found within the configurator in Aerosoft One, as some will help your FPS dramatically.

This sounds like you have GSX's replacement jetways enabled. GSX requires you to disable this at any addon airports, or you'll have issues such as duplicated or misplaced jetways. For more detailed instructions on this, you can find it within the GSX manual on page 7: https://www.virtualisoftware.com/update/setup/fsdtroot/couatl/GSX/GSX_manual_MSFS.pdf - Once you've added Frankfurt airport as an exclusion, jetways should begin showing and working correctly.

I have the standard edition of MSFS, so I don't have the Frankfurt version of Asobo. I've already turned everything off in the AerosoftOne configurator, but the FPS is still bad

Could you let me know if you have World Update XVIII: Germany, Austria and Switzerland installed?

Perfect, thanks - Sorry about that, I just noticed you put them in the original post, but my edit was a little too late.

Some users have reported that the 3D Photogrammetry included in World Update XVIII is causing FPS issues for them in the Frankfurt area, and their FPS was a lot more stable at the airport after deleting it, so it could be a similar scenario here. Could you follow the steps in the linked guide but replace "EDDM MUNICH AIRPORT" with "GERMANY2 - 3D PHOTOGRAMMETRY CITIES": https://helpdesk.aerosoft.com/hc/en-gb/articles/21074160213917-Fixing-ground-issues-with-sim-wings-Munich-EDDM-and-World-Update-XVIII-Germany-Austria-and-Switzerland

You can reinstall this at any point afterwards by performing the same steps - you'll see an install button where the delete button previously was. This will only disable the photogrammetry and not the rest of the world update. If you do see any improvement, please do let me know.

Hello,

my problem is almost se same. I have a 4060 TI, and use High End settings without change on MSFS, and the FPS with FG drop to 20 (on every airport normal FPS are 90; ENGM, EBBR, EGLL, LEMD) and the CTD occurs. Since yesterday I made several test (using 737-800 PMDG) and not using, for example, Active Sky, FSHud, FSLTL, and the same occurs. I visited the forum several times, but without any notice I thought in a problem on my system.

I Understood EDDF must be complex but I think something is correct (I waited long, long time for EDDF since I changed P3D for MSFS) so, I´m very frustrated -but I trust Aerosoft.

I have EDDM (Asobo) and is unistalled and only mantain EDDM off SimWings.

Didn't help either, the FPS are still very bad

Same here.
Hardware:

5900X

3080ti

32GB RAM

2TB SSD

I use a slightly modified medium preset. I get on average like 18 fps (not using vatsim)

already deleted the asobo eddf and the photogeometry from the world updated. Gave me maybe 1 or 2 fps extra.

Hello,

Same here.

I have the same problems. The suggestions here have not helped me.

At all airports including EGLL I have a full 30 FPS to which I have limited my system. Only not here.

As described above: it jerks, FPS with Fenix A320 are below 20! Minimal configuration of the addon has not changed anything.

Scenery index deleted. Asobo Scenery deleted.

Hardware:

Intel Core i9-11900K

Grafik: NVIDIA RTX 3080

Arbeitsspeicher: 32 GB,DDR4,3600,UDIMM,KINGSTON

MB: Intel Rocket Lake Z490 WIN DPK

Festplatte: SSD_ASM 1T,M.2,2280,PCIe3x4,Samsung,OPAL

Best regards

Wladimir

I have the same problem. My PC has the 7800x3d from AMD and an NVIDIA 4070ti installed. As soon as I have landed and move towards the terminals, my frames break down completely. I have now deactivated everything except clutter in the scenery and it doesn't get a bit better

same Problems.

System 7800X3D Nvidia 4080

that really can't be it. Turn everything off so that it runs a little better. I would like to refund the addon, because it doesn't really make it fun.

I also have very bad performance. Did all the "tricks" like turn everything off, no photogrammetry, double checked ASOBO EDDF was uninstalled etc. etc.

Nvidia 4080 with 4-6 FPS on final approach is absurd. Please Aerosoft, do something about it. This is not telling us that on other systems it runs smoothly. On various forums this problem is adressed.

A product like this you can not sell to a valuable customer.

Bring it on par with products like AS EBBR, FT EHAM or FBS KSFO. These are all "Mega Airports" that are flyable.

Same problem for me, 15-20 fps with everything in the utility app disabled aint really my kind of fun flying.

No Idea if a lot of animations are still running despite disabling them in the app but this feels like 100's of animated objects running.

For all the who didn't have been heard it, there is a update for the Airport and you can now disable the so-called "crashbox". This should improve the performance again.

For me it´s the Vram, no matter the settings it gets maxed out. The specifications to have a minimum of 8 GB are wrong. There is no config where I am able to run a complex airliner like the fenix without running out of vram. I even tried a terrain LOD of 25 and it still did not work with texture res settings down to Low preset at 1080p res. Inibuilds offers a low texture option for their mega airports like LAX and Detroit. Hope Aerosoft implements something like that because I actually find the scenery runs well on the CPU side of things, only bummer is the VRAM. I know 8 Gb aint a lot but It should be able to run given the settings and the specifications required on the product page. Also the vram usage seems to go up the longer the sim is open around this airport. (Memory leak maybe?) DX11 and DX12 makes almost no difference in that regard. RTX 2080 and Ryzen 5800X, 32GB Ram and 2TB SSD. No issues at all on other airports like JFK,LAX,Detroit etc, only Frankfurt. Also tried disabling the newest World Update and I have no duplicate scenery in the content manager. Tried basically everything at this point.

I am experiencing the same with:

- Fenix A319/A320

- EDDF settings to low

- General setting to high

i9 12900k

32 GB RAM

Geforce RTX 3080 10 GB RAM

On final just before touchdown the system stutters... Also very low FPS on ground. I can imagine that the high denisty Frankfurt nearby is also a factor.

The high density Frankfurt might be a factor but it also is for other airports with PG nearby like LAX and JFK. No issues there though, either way VRAM skyrockets and as ERIK has a 3080 with 10 Gigs it probably has the same effect, maybe not quite as bad as with my 8 though.

It doesn't matter what you configure or what you set. Even the people with the most powerful high-end systems have a “slide show” at the airport. Let's make it short, this scenery is simply poorly programmed and Aerosoft shouldn't wait too long with a solution!!

Totally agree!

Why is Aerosoft Support silent?
