Mircea L 1
Hello Are there any plans to release an update for Skiathos v1.5 (P3D) for the new apron? Thanks!
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted June 16, 2023 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted June 16, 2023 I dont think so. The market for P3D add-ons is commercially dead. So why should any dev invest time and money without any return. But you can aks the dev directly: contact@29palms.de
Mircea L 1
Thank you for providing the contact. I have to say: I find your answer a bit frustrating. Let’s see the issue from a customer point of view: I just bought it a couple of days ago (I’m not dead J), an outdated product at full price. So the correct question, form your side should be: shouldn’t the outdated products be discounted? Or at least have a notice on the product page that “since P3D marked is dead we don’t care”? Disclaimer: got it on simmarket, but it is an Aerosoft product.
Deputy Sheriffs Herman 1591 Posted June 27, 2023 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted June 27, 2023 Then also look at it from a developer standpoint. Airport sceneries for any sim base are released reflecting the state of the airport at a certain time, and that's months (due to development and coding time) before the actual release date. When things like runway extensions, ramps and taxiways change subsequently, as Otto notes, the developer has to weigh the cost to them to do a free update against additional sales. That was hard enough before P3D sales tanked. Since developers don't guarantee the scenery is up to date at all times, what you've just run into is absolutely typical. The more time that goes by between release and someone buying a scenery, the greater the chance that what you experienced will happen. It's hyper unlikely you'll find a developer who guarantees otherwise. Just a simple fact of life for add-on scenery.
