amahran 608
Correct function: Hydraulic SOV open + HYD 1 & 2 pumps ON + Reverser Arm switch set to ON => Engine should be able to enter reverse thrust Hydraulic SOV open + HYD 1 & 2 pumps ON + Reverser Arm switch set to OFF => Engine should not be able to enter reverse thrust Hydraulic SOV closed + HYD 1 & 2 pumps OFF + Reverser Arm switch set to ON => (I don't actually know) Hydraulic SOV closed + HYD 1 & 2 pumps OFF + Reverser Arm switch set to OFF => Engine should not be able to enter reverse thrust Actual function: Hydraulic SOV open + HYD 1 & 2 pumps ON + Reverser Arm switch set to ON => Engine enters reverse thrust Please login to display this image. Hydraulic SOV open + HYD 1 & 2 pumps ON + Reverser Arm switch set to OFF => Engine doesn't enter reverse thrust Please login to display this image. Hydraulic SOV closed + HYD 1 & 2 pumps OFF + Reverser Arm switch set to ON => Engine produces reverse thrust (sound & physics), but the reverser doors don't actually engage (how is this thrust being directed forward if the doors aren't activating?) Problem: If the engine is spooling up for reverse thrust without the reverser doors actuating, this should actually produce forward thrust AND forward thrust sound. Hydraulic SOV closed + HYD 1 & 2 pumps OFF + Reverser Arm switch set to OFF => Engine produces reverse thrust (sound & physics), but the reverser doors don't actually engage Problem: The engine shouldn't be able to enter reverse thrust regime if the reverser arm switch is set to OFF, regardless of Hydraulic SOV or hydraulic pump condition Please login to display this image. Please login to display this image. Recommendations: If reverser arm switch is off for either side, the respective side's reverse regime should be disabled (spool up and door actuation) If the reverser arm switch is on for either side and its respective hydraulic circuit is unpressurized, the EICAS should indicate reverse regime, but the affected engine should produce forward thrust. CRJay 429
I think you are being very optimistic that this will be looked at for multiple reasons; Hydraulic SOVs are not touched in normal operations, which AS always states to only simulate. They are only used in emergencies and abnormal procedures. Who knows if the CRJ update will release before MSFS2024 releases . But one can hope. The two are not connected in any way, and the CRJ will be available in both sims and all platforms.
