Tomatosoup 0
I'm having a tough time finding any info on this, when should I use the ram air, does it affect flight performance?

Ram air is most useful in flight. It serves no purpose. I believe the scoop is on the LH side of the nose loft. Does it affect flight performance? Well...the scoop is always in the airflow. I'm pretty sure DeHavilland gave up entirely on aerodynamics with this airplane. So basically: Negligible performance impact Best used in the air Not very useful on the ground with no airflow; use the Vent Fan for that after starting engines so you're not suffocating in the cockpit, or otherwise crack the door open. Swinden 0
The RAM air provides ventilation to the cabin while in flight. The vent fan provides ventilation when on the ground....turn off the vent fan when airborne.
