LOW FPS Aerosoft A330 P3D5

Recommended Posts

hey guys,

i am using your A330 and i have some problems on long hauls after some time (about 1-2hours) my fps drop from 40 to 18-72. but cause of that i have big stutters sometimes it stays on 20fps and it dont depend pn the enviroment (Ocean or Land). Also it happens everytime.

I am using:
P3D5 HF2 (locked at 40Fps via Nvidia Controll panel)

A330 latest update (antivirus and Firewall Off) i installed it 3 times and still have this problem

Active sky(running)

Navigraph(running desktop app)

MY systems:

Windows 2004

i9-9900K (5ghz)

RTX2080

2TB SSD

i hope you can help me...i also found on A330 Facebook gourp that i am not the only one having this issue

Not sure if this is the case in your situation, but there are some known things which cause this.

1. Windows Update download and processing (installation)

2. Automatic Graphics Drivers Update running

3. Other automated updates.

Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for your reply :)but i dont have anything running like this in the backround.

some things i found were these

-Fps are stable and after some time it becomes unstable and drops with high frequency i am currently doing a testflight and fps are dropping between 18-90FPS

-i also test it if it depends on taskswitch but it still appears when i am only running p3d wihtout switching beetween tasks

ohhhh i think i found it

when i turn off atmosspheric beta it becomes stable...so must be a problme with P3D5

then when i go back and turn it on it still stable..so an long hauls maybe it becomes unstable cause of atmosspheric beta...

P3D V5 is unfortunately not very stable at this moment. I can in great confidence tell you that nearly everybody around me went back to V4.5.

@Mathijs Kokbut do you think it will be better with P3D5.1? so stability of P3D5

It is supposed to be, but nobody has a crystal ball.  I only use P3Dv5 for testing, I use P3Dv4.5 for flying.

I think so far I will stick with p3d 4.5. The v5 is super unstable and many things are not out yet for it, including real light and True Glass.  If you look closely at MS 2020 youtube play through videos, there is a bunch of microstutters still present when flying. It's not perfectly fluid. Hopefully that will be fixed. Still, its a bit worrisome. As an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqFaMi3wVbc

Look at 2:10 mark. When the airbus is turning to the runway. Looks like it will be a stutter fest allover again.

I'll make you a video later today of the A330 under P3Dv5 (with all addon scenery and ORBX FTX Global and Vector) running on a 4th generation i7 (almost 10 years old) and GTX1080.  I'm confident you'll change your mind.

Look at the new youtube video posted today. 747 flying in the new FS 2020. Stutter fest all over even in the comments someone mentioned it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRGa4W-fo5E

It says that because of 4k the stutters are present but i have my doubts. Yes its beautiful but whats the point of having beauty and flying like a slideshow

I won't/can't discuss MSFS.

Regarding P3dV5, what exactly would you like to know?

Do you guys know when the Real Light and True Glass will be available. Mathitjs said that p3d v5 is very unstable at the moment. Is it a good idea to still stick with 4.5 until v5 is stable enough?

Thank you

Nikita
