Too early start of descent

Recommended Posts

I tried using the pilot and co-pilot of the checklist in a short flight just to see how Aerosoft's "automation" worked. The message from the MCDU was to initiate descent after descent preparation checklist was read. So I pulled the altitude knob to start descent. However, it was way too early. What triggers the various stages of flight from the checklist? Did I do something wrong?

I think you should really work through the step by step guide. Your questions are all answered there.

And if not, give us the exact flight plan so we can check.

Your answer really did give me much help. I will reread the step by step guide but I really don't think it's relevant in this case. Thanks anyway.

Captain, somewhere in your flight you did something our code did not anticipate. When we have the flight plan we can try to refly it so we can see if there is an issue and if you do the step-by-step you might see how out system expects things to happen.

Descent should be initiated app. 5 NM before the T/D pseudo waypoint on the ND....... the rest are just warning messages or information what has to be done next!

Rolf
