JRBarrett 675
Is there any plans to offer a Global Express or 5000/6000 model version of the CRJ? OR any Challenger series, like the 850/870? Though the Global fuselage superficially looks like the CRJ, it is a completely different aircraft. Different wings, different engines, and the systems are not even remotely like a CRJ's. To emulate a Global, Aerosoft would have to start from scratch. A Challenger 850 definitely is a CRJ - it is simply a stock CRJ-200 with a corporate interior, and a little more fuel capacity in the center tank. I could be wrong, but believe that when the Digital Aviation project started over six years ago, the goal was originally to build a 200, but when Aerosoft got involved, the decision was made to do the 700/900 instead since so many regional airlines were upgrading to the newer/larger models. I don't think they have any plans to revisit the 200. The 870 is a corporate CRJ-700 - which means it has fewer (but larger) seats than the airline version. Since the Aerosoft CRJ doesn't emulate the cabin (other than in the load manager), for all intents you could consider the 700 to also be an 870.
