The FS2004 product is great. This FSX fix is heavy on frames than a native FSX should do. I guess it is something to do with the poligons, although I never really understood why I had textures distorted/flashing with it.
The good news is that the same creator of the FS2004 version is almost done with a brand new, made from scratch native FSX version which is superb (from a beta tester's view), and this time is commercial. You are welcome to find the promotion here:

Initial impression - the 2 sceneries (US Cities and FSDT) look great together, there are definately mesh issues, most of them are solved when getting close to the area (they get flat like a texture being loaded, probably the photoreal is loading). I think it could have been nice if I did not have to get so close to the area for it to load and flatten, not sure how to set that. Still there is one corner of the airport that was not flatten though. Have to check FSG for this... also I saw the KLAS gates get loaded slowly one after the other... not sure how to fix it with my settings (if possible). I guess I need to go again over the manual.
Edit: It is explained in the manual indeed... no replacement to RTFM procedure
2nd Edit: Removed the FSDT mesh bgl, things do look much better

Can anyone please advise how to combine the scenery with FSDT KLAS X? Is it compatible like in Chicago city and KORD? will it be also detected automatically? Do I need to configure something somewhere in order to use them both? or maybe the supplied KLAS is as detailed as FSDT and makes it redundant?

its understandable why you are doing this but there is one looming problem with Fsx.
Fsx together with its addons is a cranky old beast at best. Everytime it gets SNAFU and needs a full reinstall the hour approaches when a significant portion of the flight sim market just gives up on wasting another week doing nothing but reinstalling fsx then acceleration - then all the aircraft - then all the scenery. Anything that lengthens this regular pain we go through runs the risk of being the straw that breaks the camels back for another user.
After going through 1 reinstall in the last 6 months and contemplating another now due to getting a new pc I have to admit that the charms of black shark shine very brightly when I contemplate the masochistic week I'll have to spend getting fsx back to where it was on the new pc

Maybe you want to try imaging your drives after installation, as an example, Acronis is a very good software for keeping you away from this mess (I do not work for them)

True. And to be honest, we really don't mind a lot about that. But you better trust your friends very very much because as the files are watermarked and it ends up on the pirate bay we'll come to you!
I really think you want to mind about sharing among friends. Today's friends are not the ones we had when we were young (the next door friends), lots of them are virtual and have other friends. In any case I think the developers would want to have the maximum income from their product, it is cut by the distributors anyway. So what I'm afraid of is that today's exception will become tomorrow's rutine and it will be well known that a product can be shared among close friends... if you can close this gap as well (permission per MAC Address, special requests via support?) this will be fair enough.

Just checking a possibility here: I have few dozens of aerosoft products and I am checking for their updates from time to time. Not all the times I have catched the article about an update so for me it involves going into the support web page and check the products one by one. Is it possible to make a support application that will be available just for the ones wants it, which will scan ALL my aerosoft products for available updates and just raise a flag?
That can be very helpfull, and if it is a quick modification of your new installer it can be a pretty much streight forward support application to implement as well.

You - having nothing to hide - may wish to live in a glass house without curtains, being followed everywhere you go by CCTV, and having all information about what is in your apartment, drawers, and on your computer available to anyone to go through at their pleasure. I happen to think differently.
So my question stands - what kind of information exactly is Aerosoft gathering about my installation, and how is it treated?

The installer works great on my W7 64bit system.
I have no concern of revealing which addons I own because all of them are liecensed. I do not see a reason to react differently. There are vendors that do not even give a full access to support forum unless you show a proof of purchase, Aerosoft support forums are open wide (as far as I know). I think it will be wise for this (kind of) installer product to report to the vendor about addons that are used without a liecense, I hope the installer can do it as it is not fair for all the developers making their living from it not to do so. Those cases of illegal use are not considered customers that contribute income in any case, so I would not worry about them too much...
About "try before you buy", it's a "nice to have" feature but from my experience there is enough information about the product to decide if I want it or not and in special cases Aerosoft Customer Support are very cooperative.

Looks good. A bit longer installation, but if it will detect all the addons and monitor the copyrights on all aerosoft products installed, this is by far a breakthrough...

maybe. So I will "speak now" Firstly, I do not feel any achievement seeing Ole's resignation, so by refering to the "you made it" I cannot see myself one of the "guys".
Secondly, I never "did not want" to belong and contribute. When I first joined AF and they were looking for board members I tried to see if any of the still opened positions will be such that I will be able to conribute my best. I did not think it will be effective for those openings, so I tried to "invent" a new position just in order to contribute from my experience (Division Conflict Resolusion Manager in VATSIM for three years) but my offer was rejected cynicaly by Mathijs saying "let's hold your position until we have problems".
So I continued to do my best from the outside... not ideal and i'm not perfect, but after I purchased my plot I found out the need for everyone to be treated equally and with respect, so I started a proccess of creating our "Code of Conduct" which is pinned until today. I wrote an email to Ole and Mathijs with a copy to Aerosoft CEO Mr. Diekmann explaining the importance of the support of Aerosoft to such CoC, sent with a preliminary text of how I think it should look like. Jane kindly made it a bit more gentle and friendly and this is how our Code of Conduct was born. Mathijs then told me that he would like to give me an access to the board forum in order to be able to contribute in my way, but nothing came out of it (except I got a free download for my "contibution to Andras Field", appreciate it).
After a while, when user Toby had this dissapointment from the plot sales I have tried to speak for these guys. I was very angry because exactly at that time people were fighting to get a plot and were rejected time after time and "suddenly" the plots of Ole and Bruce "poped up" from nowhere and without any bidding, notification nor explanation. After I expressed my anger by PM to mathijs I was notified by him that they now start a new sale methode of three plots every Friday. We all saw it starting very nicely and somewhere disappearing.
I do not think I was wanted "on-board" but I did not really care because I felt contributing from the outside in my own way. Due to my nature / culture / don't know what, it looks as my criticism (meant to be positive) is taken in a personal and negative way, I have not much to do about it but to try and be a bit more gentle... as to a board position - I don't feel like pushing myself to a place I was rejected from, maybe a QA manager will do

Sorry that you got it as an "insult", that was not the way to read my post. Maybe this will help: Integrity is nothing personal, it's not honesty. It's about (only as an example, to make it clear) go out to the public and say "we know we promissed you 3 plots every Friday but you are not going to get it so do not expect it". I hope now it is clearer. And about pulling Bernhard into this - please do not do so, his resignation due to lack of time is very consistent with what I call "integrity". It does not imply to him being a better or worst person, just shows his commitment to the position of Airport Director, thats all.
I'm not sure why trying to explain such basic things takes so much effort and energy, I tend to agree with Bernhard that it might not worth it

as always. Do you know why in Andras Meridian there is no mess and no need to check what is right and what is wrong? May I suggest that your integrity makes the difference. Andras Field was meant to be lead by the users with full tranparency. Integrity is not democracy, it can exist with democracy or without it, also with a board of directors or without it, it's not a way of doing but it is a way of being. How come that you know exactly what it right for AMA and no one needs to waste energy in order to show you the way? People just have to be 100% commited to integrity, the doing part will come by itself. My experience from Aerosoft Customer Service is 100% integrity with no exceptions, I wonder why this project does not deserve this kind of commitment. Just try it, it works! -
And I forgot to say that my switch to another board position and the bringing in substitutes have been cleared with the developers before it took place. They all gave consent and said that this was to be handled within the board.
Ole, i do not think it can be handled among the board... sorry to "interrupt" again
in the election forum (which we cannot see by now) people were asked to give good reasons why they should be elected to this SPECIFIC POSITION, not to "the board". Some board members were elected while they were the only ones offering themselves to this POSITION, not sure they were elected if someone else was with them, nor if they were offering themselves to other positions...

As we already have an FS9 version from few years ago, I think David wants to release a free "update" just to make it updated... I think it will make a nice difference
