  1. By the way, the link for the tool and info about the issues: Missing Alpha Channels, Mip Maps and AlphaSearcher. At one point it was believed to be more of an NVIDIA than ATI issue. Either way, the problem is real and the solution is available. Thanks.
  2. I am a simMarket cmr. Check your account there, the updated installers are available. I even received email notifications from them. This is Aerosoft support, right? They don't need to provide me personally with correct textures, they need to update the installers. I can make the changes myself if needed, but only they can work from the source images and thus keep the quality intact.
  3. Like missing mipmaps, missing alpha channels also pose a problem. If you (dev) don't already have it, get a copy of AlphaSearcher (by Peter van der Veen). It's available on the AIG Forums. It can search for both missing mipmaps and missing alpha channels. Great tool and great scenery test. EDDG 2012 was the first upgrade I installed, it has missing mips and it shows (shimmering). EDDK is the second and it has missing mips and alpa-less DXT3 textures (stutters). If these are '2012' sceneries, you have some work to do in addressing these issues.
  4. Surprised is putting it mildly. They announce it as state of the art quality and then they don't add mipmaps?! I suggest they make this their top priority for the next update. Actually, they should just do a re-release asap. I appreciate the free updrade and fs9 availability, but this simply will not do, Aerosoft/GAP Team.
  5. If and when there is a v2 for FS9, can you please make sure all textures are mipped, because there's a bit of shimmering going on there now (v1.50) and that can easily be addressed by adding mipmaps to the textures. Thanks.
  6. Thanks. I'll add one last capture. One of my previous post. It has sort of the same problem. The attached and post inserted capture is not scaled in any way, so goes beyond the post area and introduces horizontal scrolling. I maybe expect it to be scaled and made clickable to show the full size or something. It's less of an issue, but perhaps you can tackle both at the same time.
  7. I'm using a 1152*864 resolution on a 19 inch 4:3 LCD screen. Using Ctrl - to zoom out to 75% does remove the scrollbar and shows the entire banner. But it also makes everything else smaller and illustrates the actual problem and solution. The width of the forums remains fixed at a certain percentage (I've seen different behavior on other sites), the banner gets smaller or bigger. Changing the width of the banner to a percentage instead of a fixed width should do the trick.
  8. Exiting from runway 4R, on taxiway EF and EY, the first hold short marker you come across is facing the wrong way, so not towards 4R. In Google Earth they are facing the runway, as they should.
  9. Would it be possible to change the banner so that it fits the width of my screen, like the rest of the forums. As you can see, it goes beyond that now, introducing a scrollbar. And in the event that there is some info on the right side of the banner, I likely won't see it, so this will benefit everyone. I'm using IE9 BTW.
  10. Jeepee, when did the "update" take place in real life?
  11. Also ran into this problem. Registered my newly purchased copy in the Support Database and it listed the above updates. Quite confusing. Glad to find this thread.
  12. I welcome an FS9 version of Nice! Just one comment, I have Ultimate Terrain Europe and went to check out LFMN as it is without addon scenery and I saw a coastline/wave issue, see screen shot. Without the more accurate coastlines of UTE, the issue is probably not there, though I have not checked. Just want to make sure the scenery will not have a similar issue.
  13. I'm trying to find them, but they are well hidden it seems. Perhaps I'm missing the obvious, I don't often if at all have need to go looking for forum rules... Anyway, I guess it all boils down to don't post any inconvenient truths... That or I posted utter nonsense, but then why not expose me publicly? Seems like the easier and more effective move. Deleting posts because of an unwanted opinion (and not obvious things like spam or offensive stuff) tends to demonstrate a certain weakness on the part of he who does the deleting and not he who posted in the first place. I guess my high regard of Aerosoft continues to be misplaced. See, that's what you get when you delete something without as much as leaving a comment in place, even more unwanted opinions. Edit: Well, I honestly can't find any.
  14. What rule or rules would that be?
  15. Shaun, why did you remove my post? Edit: Feel free to PM me if you prefer.
