  3. Mwahhhh... not really. Listen, it is clear we are close, we have actually have no 'show stoppers' left. But that is not the only factor that determines when we release. We like to coordinate it with the release on the MS Store, we have our own marketing etc. As we said we will not do a surprise release. First our friends at YouTube and at some sites will get access. During that period we'll do some last tweaks. Exactly how long the period between that and the actual release is depends on some things that are only partly in our control. Hopefully not long, but when that is clear w

  4. We are 6 months from the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator. 6 months after the release of previous sims (X-Plane, Prepar3d and such) we weren't even close to getting fairly advanced aircraft like the CRJ or FlyByWire's A320NX. The sims had less features, worse SDK, plenty of flight model flaws, and absolutely awful default planes, with few third-party aircraft being no better than the fairly simple ones released so far for MSFS. We certainly didn't have even the remote perspective of potentially getting PMDG-level aircraft in another 6-8 months, and so forth. Peopl

  5. For me it's more to do with people judging the sim, before it's even had its full potential showcased by devs like AS. It's only been out a few months and Asobo are still clearly learning themselves, they have the resources they need, to make this a highly accurate sim. Just give them more time to get the knowledge and people on board, to help improve the simulation aspects. I say this but AS may be abouts to prove, that the tools are already there and just need exploiting, they certainly seem to think that is the case.

  6. You may! This first video was done with a not so great microphone. I have upped my game now but the audio thing is still a learning by doing process for me. I am now experimenting with hanging towels around my computer and kill every angular surface that might bounce off waves in a bad way.

  7. Nobody would ever expect AS to model that after all these years, or would they?

  8. I agree with Abriael 100% here. Take FSX, the sim was released in 2006, PMDG took 5 years to release the 737 onto the platform. Even if pmdg takes another 18 months we’ll see the aircraft in the sim faster than with fsx. This sim has matured and improved faster than any other predecessor, and will continue to do so, we all share the same reasons for wanting to use flight sims and we shouldn’t have the need to turn it into MSFS vs X-Plane vs P3D.

  9. They should set up a custom scenario. You start out sitting in the cabin, with the aircraft in cruise. Suddenly, the FA comes on the intercom: “Your attention please - is there anyone here who did not have the fish for dinner... and who... um... knows how to fly an airplane?”

  10. Got it. I am grateful for the clarifications and agree. Hopefully the potential of the simulator hasn't really been unleashed with the help of professional aircraft designers until they have released their products. And they can use all the tools in the simulator and do it right. I am glad that in this simulator it really is possible to change everything on the fly, in the process of releasing new versions, and not as in previous versions (FSX, P3D), where only the initial physics is made and forever. Once again I ask you to forgive me for the criticism. I really want things to improve and

  11. Hang on, that doesn't look accurate at all - the overhead bins look like you could actually put things in them. 😂 Cheers, guys. Now I can sit in the back on flights, where I definitely belong.

  13. The CRJ makes use of WebAssembly (WASM) modules written in C++. These modules are running inside a sandbox, so separated from the rest of the Windows operating system. The reason for this is that WASM modules are meant to work on both Windows and the Xbox platform. The WASM SDK, which is part of the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, currently does not support any communications with the outside world (network, internet etc.). We are very confident this issue will soon be solved. You should not be worried about performance.

  14. My 10 cents on this, is that people should look at MSFS2020 as a platform that third parties can use(indeed in fairness to Asobo they have pretty much said that themselves)... not the end result, IF Aerosoft think they can work with it I will trust their judgement, hopefully shortly we will get to see what one of the better companies in this area can do when they release the CRJ. That being said I'm sure it won't be conclusive for everyone. I also agree with the above this doesn't need to be an all or nothing thing..... for MSFS to succeed P3D and XPlane don't have to fail

  15. @The Dudeif you have an RTX GPU I can highly recommend using the Nvidia Broadcast program. The AI noise suppression is fantastic and has barely any influence on your voice quality.

  16. Still true after 22 hours. Also do not assume that if there is an 3D cabin it would be anyway near the modeling quality of the VC, let alone be functional. AS has always stated they focus on the job of the captain on a normal SOP flight from A to B. Besides, everybody who ever flew in an CRJ as pax knows the experience is nothing to write home about. Maybe they modeled exactly this experience. And something is better than nothing right?

  19. No, coms are very good with Microsoft and this is in NO way a blockade. It is jus one of the many things that come with releasing a product like this.

  20. One question about the cabin, I suppose that other developers (flightsim.to developers) will be able to create mods of the cabin with different layouts like United seats, etc. Or not?

  25. Just wanted to ask whether you guys at AS have found a way to disable the logbook screen from popping up after a flight. I think I speak for many when I say it is annoying and breaks immersion. It is such a small issue, but it is annoying nonetheless and I just wondering if you guys have found a way to disable it in some form, or whether we will just have to wait for Asobo to create an option to turn if off. Thanks and keep up the amazing work on the CRJ!

  26. Is one able to set a wing view if they like; not looking at the cabin, just the wings; can you see the flaps move etc? I recall being able to it on the P3D version; however the camera\view system is different in flight simulator. I have been able to set wing views in all the ac with flight simulator so far.

  31. Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been glued to this project since page #1 and am really excited to fly it once it's released. I've been quite torn since these images showed up on Wednesday whether to ask this, considering I'm a new poster and prefer to have a good reputation and all, and Aerosoft's stance on barely noticeable features. But, after seeing the incredible cabin pictures this morning, here goes. Are my eyes deceiving me, or do I see wingflex? It's so subtle, but it's been gnawing at me. I even brought them in to Paint to draw a few lines along the leading

  38. The CRJ or any plane should be able to be operated using the same SOPs in any sim

  39. An Aerosoft A220 would be an instant buy from me! I had a chance to fly several legs on the BCS1 prior to Covid and absolutely love that plane. Understood that it’s an Airbus in name only, but perhaps the Collins avionics/systems would have at least some synergies with the CRJ code base (here’s hoping!). That said, very excited about the A320/A330 family as well! I’ll be eagerly keeping an eye on this preview forum.

  40. Looks great! As a former CRJ driver and instructor I’m so excited this will be the first 3rd party airliner in FS2020 and can’t wait to fly it in the sim and see how it compares to the real thing! For now all I have is the JRollon in Xplane and it is quite dated now haha.

  42. Ok now, problem sorted, must have been a conflict. Cleared everything. including MVAMS, FSUIPC, Spad.next uninstalled honeycomb software then installed updated honeycomb configurator and using spad.next to assign axis event, success, all levers working. Happy man can now get on with start sequence and binding keys--

  43. Mmmmm whole I agree with the rest of your post, not with that statement. Many of our aircraft products in the last 10 years used XML code for some bit, even complex bits with 10.000 lines of code. We always said we would love it when people enhanced on that code and that was done a lot. The whole semi intelligent co-pilot in the Airbusses started like that and is now a major feature. One of the main reasons C++ is more or less unavoidable is that it offers far better debugging and a far faster workflow. For a non commercial project not major factors but for me they are. A trained
